Android 7.1.1 Nougat is coming on December 5

Thanks to Vodafone Australia, we now know that Android version 7.1.1 is coming to all the eligible Nexus and Pixel devices on December 5 - 6. According to the Nexus 6P update advisory by the carrier, the first rollouts of Android 7.1.1 for the 6P (NMF26F) will begin on December 6 (Australian Time). Android Central even specifies the starting time as noon PST, December 5.

The report is in sync with what Google had declared earlier when it stated that Nougat 7.1.1 will be ready for release in early December. Also, as carriers usually have access to OEM updates before their official release in order to customize them for their customers, there is no reason to doubt the authenticity of the report. Additionally, the OTA file will also contain the SMR release from Google for the month of December. This one will be the first big update for the recently released Pixel phones and other manufacturers will finally be able to utilize Android 7.1.1 for upgrading their own smartphones.
