HTC may sell 24 million devices this year

The Taiwanese producer is on high heels right now, because of their impressive growth since they started to create smartphones too. A target set at the beginning of this year said HTC wants to reach 24 million devices sells within a year, but I doubt someone trusted it's possible. Well, now it is. Handset suppliers estimate HTC may sell around 12 million devices in the two quarters to come, while they sold 8 millions in the first two. That's around 20 million devices, not too far from the milestone.
What this means? It means they will sell in 2010 over two and a half times the devices they sold in 2009. That's what I call an impressive growth. HTC holds now the 4th position in the top of smartphone makers, but they also want to hold a place in the first 10 of mobile phones makers by the number of sells. And by what we see now, there's not too much to wait.
