New Zeeland will get the Droid

New Zeeland, one of the countries that had to wait some time to get the new Motorola Droid/Milestone is now ready to have the handset. The new Motorola will arive in New Zeeland on July 1st and can be bought for a recomended retail price of $999 with Telecom XT. Surprising price, isn't it? I would ask why is the phone so expensive, but I doubt there will be someone out there able to answer. The launch of the new Motorola in New Zeeland may not be such a big deal for the US and Europe residents, but there is something big for them
The Motorola Droid/Milestone is an internet and multimedia enabled smartphone running Android 2.1. It's powered up by a 550Mhz processor, underclocked from 600MHz, has a 512MB onboard flash memory, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. The display is wide, 854x480 pixels TFT LCD, 3.7 inch, 16:9 aspect radio. The display is a capacitive touchscreen with ambient light sensors, qwerty keyboard and digital compass. The camera is a 5.0MP with video capabilities. Some other specs include Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi and aGPS. Pretty impressive for a country like New Zeeland, isn't it? But expensive, as well...
