Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (unlocked) starts to receive Android M update in Germany

9 May, 2016 Samsung

If you are using a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in Germany, we have good news for you because the Marshmallow update for unlocked versions of the Note 4 has just started to reach users throughout Germany. In case you have already been notified about the update reaching your Note 4, we recommend downloading it via a Wi-Fi connection as the update comes in an expectedly large package of 1.29GB. After you download and install it successfully, your base Android version will change to 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Considering that India had already started receiving this update about four weeks ago (one week after its international release), some may consider this a bit late, but definitely not by much. If you are in Canada, we have good news for you too. The latest reports suggest that Telus is bringing Marshmallow to the carrier's Note 4 smartphones in Canada on May 16.

You can also check for the update from here: Settings> About device> Software update. If you do find that the update is available to you, just tap on Update now and follow the instructions. Once the process is completed, your Note 4 will become faster with better overall stability and you will be able to enjoy features such as controlling individual app permissions, better battery life (Doze) and a fresh look.
