Vodafone had to lower prices in India
Vodafone Group, India's top mobile phone operators, with more than 100 million subscribers, ended their fiscal year on 31th March and released a full raport. It seems the competitions with many other new operators forced Vodafone to lower the prices to below 0.001 Indian rupees ($0.0002 per second). India's market is overcrowded now, but companies think of this country as a profitable market because of the more than 1 billion people population.
Vodafone Essar is also one of the nine bidders for the 3G in India. The cost of a license increased until $3.5 billion, raising normal question regarding the capabilities of the bidders to actually get those money in a short amount of time.
It is also known that the largest service provider in India, Bharti Airtel, reported a decline in profits for the quarter ended 31th March, though the customer base grew with 35 percent last year.
