HTC to Update Desire X to Jelly Bean

One of HTC's little-known mid-range smartphones, the Desire X, may benefit from an Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update. This device was launched in August last year running on ICS. A version of the phone showed up in the list of Bluetooth Special Interest Group and is running on Android 4.1. Although it is not the latest Jelly Bean version, users of the Desire X will certainly see marked improvements and additions using the Jelly Bean.

An official date of the Jelly Bean rollout for the HTC Desire X has not yet been set but as of moment it is very likely that the Desire X will be upgraded soon. This 4-incher smartphone has the following for its features: a dual-core Snapdragon MSM 8225, less than 1GB RAM, 5MP camera and Beats Audio.

LG Optimus G to begin its worldwide availability rollout with Jelly Bean this month

LG has just announced plans to roll out android 4.0 Jelly Bean update to the Optimus G globally this month. According to a press release today by LG. The first country to receive the upgrade will be Singapore "at the end of January," then slowly work their way through the other countries with LTE networks.

Back in November, the Optimus G landed in the states, along with Canada, Korea and Japan. Since then LG has sold over 1 million units. That number still lags when comparing against the 10 million Galaxy Note 2s sold or the 2 million iPhone 5 pre-orders seen in 24 hours, but it's still a phone worthy of a global stage.

There's no official date on when Canada will get graced with Jelly Bean, but you can bank on it hitting Rogers, Bell, TELUS and SaskTel with the promised Q2 timing.

LG Optimus G Pro Announced 5-inch 1080p LCD with 1.7GHz S4 Pro and Jelly Bean

The LG Optimus G Pro, announced by NTT Docomo of Japan and spotted by Engadget, has a large 5-inch screen with full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080)That gives the display a pixel density of 440 pixels per inch, the same as the HTC Droid DNA.

The phone is slightly thicker than the non-pro version with only 0.4 inch thin, it will likely to accommodate the larger battery, which holds 3,000 mAh of juice. The processor is a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core design, and it runs Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean." It will be equipped to connect with NTT Docomo's LTE network, and Wi-Fi tethering supports up to eight devices.

LTE-Enabled LG Optimus Running on Jelly Bean announced

More and more devices are now upgrading or are coming out with the latest Jelly Bean and the most recent would be the LG Optimus LTE II. This is a new phone that was launched by LG at the MWC and its predecessors are the Optimus LTE and LTE II.

SK Telecom will introduce the phone today in South Korea. This will benefit from the latest improvements and additions from the latest Android Jelly Bean update.

With the new Optimus LTE III, LG decided to keep most of the key elements of its predecessors. Compared to the Optimus LTE II, the new device's dimensions are almost similar. It measures 131.7 X68.2 X9.6 mm. It also has the same screen size and the same IPS display, which is capable of displaying a resolution of 1280 X 720 backed by an Adreno 225 graphics unit.

It has a 1.5 Ghz dual core Snapdragon processor. It also sports a bunch of features that are standard for smartphones today like NFC, 1080p video recording with its 8 MP rear camera and a 1.3 MP front facing camera. It has 2 GB of RAM and an MicroSD card slot that supports up to 32 Gb space. The device is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery so it should get most people through the day without charging. In addition, the device comes in black and white.

Motorola now seeding Jelly Bean update for RAZR i

The Jelly Bean update roll out for the intel-powered Motorola RAZR I have begun. The first country to get the update notifications is France even though the smartphone was first launched in the UK.

All the usual goodies associated with Jelly bean are on hand including some new improvements to the custom Motorola launcher conveyed to you through the new firmware, version 4.1.2

You are much better off downloading the software over Wi-Fi but you can also use network data if you desire due to a file size of 300 MB. There is an automatic popup on your notification screen but you can check for it manually via the about screen on your settings menu.

The availability of the release should extend to other countries within the next few days or weeks at the most.

DROID RAZR & DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Meet the latest devices to update to Android Jelly Bean 4.1. The DROID RAZR and the RAZR MAXX users have waited for so long to be updated to Jelly Bean and although it hasn't happened yet, at least a formal announcement have already been made by Motorola.

Although many devices have already upgraded to Jelly Bean and have reported awesome enhancements and additional features such as Google Now, camera and notification features, among others, owners of these Motorola devices will surely find Android Beam and near field communication technology (NFC) to be useful when exchanging information.

These are only some of the things that Jelly Bean can bring about on a DROID RAZR or a RAZR MAXX phone. Perhaps the best news is that although Motorola was a bit late on providing update, it hasn't completely forgotten to upgrade and have kept these devices alive. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates for Samsung Galaxy S III officially coming soon

Samsung has come up with a quick and simple list of U.S. smartphones which are either getting or are required to receive their Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. As of today it basically provides a placeholder or jumping off point for several Galaxy S III models along with a trio of Nexus devices spread over Sprint and Verizon. Samsung Galaxy S2 will be getting Jelly Bean update next month

We know some of the Samsung Galaxy S2 owners have been waiting desperately for the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, a Samsung spokesperson has just told CNET Asia that Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) updates will be rolling out to current SGalaxy 2 owners in the beginning of February in Singapore.

Samsung Korea has finally posted details about the Jelly Bean upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S II. The Jelly Bean update by Samsung will reduce internal memory from 12GB to 11GB and the reduced 1GB memory part will be used for system partition, as it will also re-partition the memory system, so this upgrade will take at least 1 hour. This upgrade will only be available through Samsung desktop software: Samsung KIES.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update

Got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 and wondering when is your Jelly Bean update coming to your device? Well, According to SamMobile, Samsung Thailand has confirmed Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Tab 7.7 which is available in both 3G and Wi-Fi versions. The company's official site notes that the tablet is expected to receive Android v4.1.

Released in December of 2011, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 comes in three storage options: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB and supports microSD card for storage expansion. It is powered by an Exynos chip featuring a dual-core Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, and paired with Mali-400MP graphics unit. T-Mobile Galaxy S II getting software update - but not Jelly Bean

T-Mobile has announced a software update for their Galaxy S2 phones. According to T-Mobile support forum yesterday, the Samsung Galaxy S II (ICS only) had software update to Android version 4.0.4 / Baseband version T989UVLI4 via Over The Air (OTA) and Samsung Kies.

The update only appears to be about 11MB in size and brings with it security enhancements and a few tweaks and updates on the Qualcomm processor side of things. Vlingo S Voice is also getting some improvement, although that wasn't specified much. As usual all the details are available from T-Mobile support forums. The international GS II just started getting Jelly Bean so hopefully US carriers like T-Mobile are next.

You can update in two ways:

Over the air (OTA) update to T989UVLI4: If you want to update to T989UVLI4, you can update via OTA. Please wait for the notification to update. The OTA will continue to be delivered until February 7. There is no escalation option if the update has not been recieved.

Manual download to T989UVLI4: If you want to update to T989UVLH1, you can update via Samsung Kies. Ensure you are on the latest version of Kies prior to attempting the update. See https://www.samsung.com/us/kies/ to confirm the version.

Samsung Galaxy Express featuring LTE and Android Jelly Bean to be launched in Europe and Asia

The new Samsung Galaxy Express Handset running on an Android operating system guarantees 4G LTE's amazingly fast network connectivity to all. It bears familiarity to the Galaxy Express introduced by the AT &T network at the end of 2012.

This version is built for the European and Asian markets using the Android 4.1 Jellybean platform from the onset. Another variation is the dual-core 1.2GHz processor. Other features remain unchanged.

This handset carries a 2,000 mAh battery and measures 132.2 x 69.1 x 9.3 mm all weighing 139 grams.

Prices for Europe and Asia including the launch date are yet to be announced though it has been confirmed that it will be offered in white.

A black version is offered by AT & T and sells for $99.99 on contract and $449.99 off contract.

Samsung recently released the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for their Galaxy S II smartphone in Europe and now they have announced that the update is also available for the handset worldwide. Samsung to Upgrade Galaxy Ace 2 Firmware to Jelly Bean

Galaxy Ace 2 is a popular mid-scale smartphone that has attracted many for its affordability and features. Samsung Posts Jelly Bean Kernel source for GT-i9100 And GT-i9100M

Samsung is releasing another major version update for its devices, it also posts Kernel sources for it. The same happens to the GT-i9100 and GT-I9100M.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 will finally enjoy the Jellybean update waited for so long. The update will include the favorite TouchWiz skin. The source code can also be used by developers to do fun and amazing design of new ROMs for the device. The source code is available via the Samsung Open Source Release Center for developers and for users. The ROM which will make the device default is going to be released soon.

The new kernels are GT-I9100 and GT-I9100M BMC, which both can be found from Samsung Open Source Release Center. For modders, it is time to make new ROMs to play with. For users, just be a little more patient.

Samsung Galaxy Note now officially rolling out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean

It looks like Samsung is finally ready to rollout the official update to the Samsung Galaxy Note (First Gen) . You might not be able to update your device to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean right away as the update is rolling out in phases. Sam Mobile says that the update is already available in Asia - specifically in Hong Kong and Taiwan - but you can expect your country to get it soon as well. Not to mention that you can always choose to manually update your device, by getting the appropriate firmware.

Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean leak for Samsung Galaxy Ace 2

One of the most popular mid-range smart phones is the Galaxy Ace 2. A recent leak from SamMobile shows that it will be given a well-deserved upgrade to 4.1.2 Android Jelly Bean, which many will find useful and timely. This will definitely up the ante on mid-range phones against more expensive ones such as the Note 2, S3 and the S4.

Some of the first Galaxy Ace 2 units will be shipped first to Ukraine, according to the leak. The site also features what looks like the ROM build and you will find this on their firmware section. You might even be able to flash it to see if it greatly improves the Galaxy Ace and to experience additions such as Google Now. A new interface might also be thrown in (Nature UX). Be careful when flashing though and follow instructions carefully and don't forget to back up.

Samsung Galaxy Stellar on Verizon to Receive Jelly Bean Update

Verizon Wireless today said that the Samsung Galaxy Stellar will be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean beginning March 4. The update will be pushed out in phases, though it can also be downloaded manually starting Monday afternoon.

Jelly Bean includes enhancements and new features like Google Now as well as a new notification panel that displays missed calls and emails and lets users return the call or email right from the notification. A brightness bar has also been added as an easy way to adjust and dim the screen's brightness.

Verizon Finally Updating Galaxy Stellar to Jelly Bean

The race for mobile supremacy is harsh. People often find themselves realizing that their devices become "out of date" and are already not supported by their manufacturers and carriers. But with Verizon's Galaxy Stellar, apparently, this is not the case.

The Stellar, released September of last year, rolled out with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and has since been stuck and unable to update to Jelly Bean. However, Samsung and Verizon both agreed to pull their technical resources together to grant this device with a 4.1 Android Jellybean update. It may not be the latest version, but it will allow the users to experience the perks of Jelly Bean.

The update will feature Google Now, expandable notifications, Project Butter, and many other system bug fixes to the Stellar. This is an OTA and is sized around a hefty 400 MB so better do this on WiFi. For those who haven't received any notification about the update, you can always check manually if the update is already available via "System Update" on your Stellar.

Hurray to another device that received the Jelly Bean update. Sprint has brought Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to the 10-incher Samsung Galaxy Tab today. It can be recalled that other variants for the device were already upgraded and the update was issued only for the "Wi-Fi only" Tab 2.

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OTA Update for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

SamMobile reports that Samsung plans to update the Galaxy Tab 2 to the first Android Jelly Bean version and then to update the device to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean as a final roll out. When this happens, users will only have to rely on the developers of custom ROMs to carry on with the devices' upgrades and updates. This news came as the Tab 2 turns 1-year-old.

Also, Samsung is allegedly trying and testing the Jelly Bean on their older Tab versions and the NVIDIA Tegra 2 T20. Samsung Galaxy S2 finally getting Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update in India

The wait is finally over for the Galaxy S2 owners in India. Samsung has finally started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Samsung Galaxy S2 users. The Galaxy S2 got the ICS update in India in May 2012, and the Jelly Bean started rolling out back in January starting from Spain. The Samsung Galaxy Note got the Jelly Bean update in India last month..

The update is rolling out over-the-air, but if for some reason you're yet to receive a prompt message to download and install it you should check for it through Samsung Kies.

Samsung announced the list of devices that would get the Android Jelly Bean update back in back in September 2012.Hope Samsung rolls out the Android 4.1.2 update for the remaining devices in India soon.

The Galaxy S2 is likely to never get Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, meaning the 4.1.2 update will be the last major one to hit the 4.3-incher. There should also be a 4.2.2 bump in the not so distant future, but that's nowhere near the magnitude of the 4.1 tweak.

More details on Galaxy Star and Galaxy Pocket Neo Jelly Bean smartphones

Samsung announces two new affordable smartphones on a press release that will feature 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware: the Galaxy Star and the Pocket Neo. It can be recalled that the company has already showcased these two entry-level gadgets in Africa. There is no news as to the exact prices of each but these will surely cater to the low-end market. It is not clear when these will be available either.

The Pocket Neo comes with an 850 MWz processor, 512 MB RAM, expandable memory, 3-inch display and can support two SIMs, GPS and a 2MP rear camera. On the other hand, the Galaxy Star have almost the same features but it will come with a faster processor that clocks in at 1GHz.

Although Samsung has plenty of devices to announce this year, the most anticipated after the S 4 launch is the Galaxy Note 3 and possibly the S 4 Mini, which will all be unveiled hopefully sooner than later.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 officially rolling out Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update

AT&T and Samsung have released a software update for the Samsung Galaxy Note. This software package updates the firmware version to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

Home screens: The home screens will be reset to the ICS default view.
Application Menu: The application menu sorting, folders and home keys will be reset. Downloaded applications will be preserved.

removed.
Email: Email accounts that were added as a Social Hub or Samsung premium account will be removed.
Music: Music playlists and settings (Equalizer, Sound effects, Music menu) will be reset during the update.
Bluetooth: Paired bluetooth devices will be removed during the reset.
SIM and Memory cards: Information stored on your SIM and Memory cards will not be changed, and may remain installed during this update.

Install Samsung Kies

Download and install Samsung Kies to your computer.
NOTE: Any previously downloaded versions of Samsung Kies will not work correctly for this upgrade. Please ensure you are downloading the most recent Kies software from the link above.
Once installed, read and accept the License agreement, and then click Next.
NOTE: If prompted to update to a newer version, click Update and wait for new files to load.
Once all updates have been processed, the program will close and relaunch itself.

Update your Samung Galaxy Note

Plug your phone into the computer using the included Micro USB cable.
Once Kies recognizes your device, you will receive a pop-up requesting to update to a new firmware version. Click Update to continue.
Read through the Caution pop-up, and if you agree, click to check "I have read all the above information." and select your desired information saving option, and then click Start Upgrade.
A notice will display. Read through the information, and then click Next to proceed.
The update will begin and may take 10-15 minutes to complete. The phone will be unusable during this time. Do not disconnect your mobile phone from your PC or power the PC off. If interrupted, your device could become inoperable.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 goes official with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Great news, Samsung has officially announced Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3. The Galaxy Ace 3 now runs Google's Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, which is skinned in Samsung's Touchwiz user interface. This doesn't give the handset all the features you'll find on the Samsung Galaxy S4, but it does deliver the S Translator, Smart Stay and S Voice features.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 has a 4.3-inch TFT LCD with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. It measures 121.2 x 62.7 x 9.8 mm and weighs 115 grams. It sports a 5MP camera with LED flash and supports recording 720p HD @30fps video. There's a VGA front-facing camera.

Connectivity-wise, the Galaxy Ace 3 has dual-SIM card slots and features 3G support, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and Wi-Fi. On the software front, the device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and comes pre-loaded with Samsung-specific apps like S Translator, S Travel, Smart Stay and S Voice among others.

Pantech announced the Vega No. 6 official with Jelly Bean and 5.9 inch 1080p display

Competition is getting heavier in South Korean, Pantech, country's third largest handset maker, has officially announced it's first full HD smartphone, code name Vega No. 6, which was rumored about a week ago.

The Pantech Vega No. 6 is one of the largest smartphones, with display measures 5.9 inches. In addition, the handset comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, Pantech's own UI called Flux UX, LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, NFC, 13MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 3,140 mAh battery, very big battery life.

Patech said its retail price will be 849,000 KRW, which's aournd $776 dollars. However, we aren't sure if it's going to be released outside of South Korea yet.

Before summer time this year, Samsung should unveil at least two Full HD devices: the Samsung Galaxy S4, and the Samsung Galaxy Note III.

Quad-core Lenovo S920 with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean now official

The Lenovo S920 is now official, and it has appeared over at Lenovo China's webstore, however you cannot buy it at this moment.

- Open Odin3 v3.09
- Restart phone in download mode (Press and hold Home + Power + Volume down buttons)
- Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
- Add AP_I9300XXUGMJ9_1902166_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 to AP
- Add BL_I9300XXUGMJ9_1902166_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 to BL
- Add MODEM_I9300BUUGMJ3_REV02_REV04_CL1413323.tar.md5 to CP
- Add CSC_VFG_I9300VFGGMJ5_1986192_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5 to CSC
- Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
- Click start button, sit back and wait a few minutes.
- If you encounter any issues with the firmware (Any FC, Bootloop etc)
- Boot into recovery mode (Home+power+vol up)
- Choose to wipe/factory reset. (THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA INCLUDING YOUR INTERNAL SD CARD!)
- Then choose reboot and you should be good to go!

Samsung Galaxy Victory Gets Jelly Bean Update

Sprint is beginning to roll out the Android 4.1.2, Jelly Bean today for the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE customers.

The Jelly Bean update will automatically download when your Galaxy Victory is eligible for the enhanced software. Once the download is complete, you will be prompted to install the update. Your device will be disabled during the few minutes it takes to install the update, but it will be ready to use immediately afterward.
