  • 16 megapixel camera
  • Fingerprint sensor

So who is planning on upgrading to the Galaxy S5?

UK MOBILE RETAILER Carphone Warehouse has said that the Sony Xperia E is going to be arriving on its shelves in February. The web phone shop announced today that it'll start selling the telephone in February, there is however no word on pricing yet.

Announced by Sony recently, the Sony Xperia E will be the latest midrange addition for Sony's Xperia lineup, since the Japanese phone maker continues to move far away from a hero strategy.

The specs of the Sony Xperia E will arrive using a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a 3.5in 480x320 touchscreen, running Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean mobile operating system.

This phone clearly aiming at those who wouldn't like a flashy Android phone, the Sony Xperia E also has a 3.2MP rear-facing camera, no front-facing camera, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD slot, a 1530mAh battery and Sony's usual mobile software including Walkman apps and it is Timescape user interface.

Vertu phones have relied on the now obsolete Symbian or Series 40 platform and despite being extremely expensive, they are not regarded as smart phones, including the brand's top of the line models bedecked with diamonds and precious metals.

According to the popular Russian blogger, Eldar Murtazin, A Vertu smartphone running on an Android platform is set to be launched at the end of February. It will cost 3000 Euros, relatively low for a Vertu. No further details are forthcoming though it is bound to have the normal traits regarding sapphire glass, hand-crafted metal and genuine leather. The 24 hours a day Vertu Concierge service is probably part of the package.

Current owner EQT opted for the Android platform due to its flexibility as far as customization is concerned.
