Carphone Warehouse has made everyone extra-excited with the announcement that they will be giving away free 7-inch Galaxy Tab 2 for the first 2000 people who pre-ordered the Galaxy S 4. Although the Tab 2 is not the latest by Samsung under this category, there is no doubt that those who placed their orders first will really appreciate Carphone's promo and that no other mobile vendors in the country will be able to beat that offer.

Also, Carphone has not released pricing information for the Galaxy S 4 yet, but on average it will possibly go for £520, without contract.

The Galaxy S 4 was recently launched in a highly-publicized event in NY and it has broken records as the device that has the highest number of pre-registered units. Getting a phone that is as awesome as the S 4, along with a free Galaxy Tab, will just really blow anyone's mind away.

Carphone Warehouse stays true to its word and offers the Galaxy S III Mini with a freebie that even the non-fans would find difficult to resist. Buying an S III Mini from this retailer in the UK will also get you a 7-incher Galaxy Tab 2 for free-no strings attached.

Plans for the S III Mini start at £22 monthly on O2 and a bit more if you want an Orange or a Vodafone plan. This 4-inch smartphone runs on a dual-core processor with 1GB RAM and 5MP camera on the back. Also, it comes with Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2, which may be upgraded to the 4.2 version.

Although the Galaxy Tab 2 is not the latest in the market, it is still a good deal, considering you will only have to pay for one device to get both. Furthermore, the Galaxy Tab 2 is a trustworthy device that is perfect for those who want to try their hand on a capable Android tablet.

Not happy with Google Drive or DropBox?  Now, you have another option, Mega.  Its launched by Kim Dotcom, A year after file-storage site MegaUpload was brought down by U.S. law enforcement officials targeting piracy, it didn't stop Kim Dotcom from launch his new storage website, Mega.

Dotcom said Mega had more than half a million sign-ups in the first 14 hours, so it was already a success. However, the site has sometimes been knocked offline.

Mega's file encryption is not so much to protect users as to protect Kim Dotcom and his company. The New Zealand police force's ludicrous overreaction resulted from accusations that MegaUpload was being used to share copyright material such as movies, TV shows and music. With Mega, files are encrypted before they are uploaded, so that Mega staff do not and cannot know what users are uploading and, possibly, sharing.

Compared to Google Drive, Mega offers a steal! There is no 500 GB plan offered by Google, but we can compare Mega to Mountain View's 2 TB plan. Google Drive's price for 2 TB of storage is a whopping $99.99/month, 5 times the price of Mega's Pro II plan. And we thought Google's plans were affordable.

Mega's Pro Account Prices

  • Pro I: 500 GB of storage and 1 TB of bandwidth for $9.99/month.
  • Pro II: 2 TB of storage and 4 TB of bandwidth for $19.99/month.
  • Pro III: 4 TB of storage and 8 TB of bandwidth for $29.99/month.

Google has announced that Quickoffice is now free to download for iOS and Android. Google also concedes that not everyone has "gone Google" yet, and also the ‘.doc' holdouts don't make it easy for those who have.

You can get the free Quickoffice app on Google Play and in the App Store. Simply sign in with your Google Account to start editing Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint files on your iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet. Quickoffice is integrated with Google Drive so you can safely and easily store and access your files across devices. Users who currently have Quickoffice for Google Apps for Business can update their app to the new version and will notice a new icon.

You'll also see a number of new features including the ability to create .ZIP folders and view charts in Excel and PowerPoint files. Plus, the new app works across devices so you don't have to worry about installing separate versions anymore when you go from using your phone to editing on your tablet.

SwiftKey, the popular Android keyboard app that uses text prediction to enable super-fast typing, is now free to all users.

The app replaces your stock Android keyboard with one that lets you quickly swipe around from letter to letter, figuring out which word you're trying to type.

What's more, it uses prediction technology to try to guess the next word you'll type, offering a few choices up above the top row of keys. If you see the correct word, just tap it and it'll get plopped into your current sentence. The guesses improve over time: The more you use the app, the better it gets.

Swiftkey is also setting its sights on new iOS offerings in the near future. The company launched its first iOS app, SwiftKey Note, earlier this year. And Swiftkey is already planning a full iOS keyboard app now that Apple announced it will finally make third-party keyboards available in iOS 8.
