Although Samsung is currently the leader in device shipments last year and the first quarter of this year, its nearest competitor, Apple, is not so far behind. In fact, it has posted strong sales on the iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini, despite lower demands on its newest iPhone.

The Cupertino Company shipped a total of 20.3% of its devices in the last quarter of 2012, whereas Samsung reportedly shipped 21.2%. The increase in the shipment was attributed to the introduction of the iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini, which are still selling quite well at present.

These figures will surely set new records when the Samsung Galaxy S IV has also been launched and sold in the market. The Korean Company is making sure that their shipment percentage will take a big leap once their flagship phone starts selling in the market.

If these people really are random people off of the street, and not paid actors, we can understand not being aware of what would set apart the new iPhone from the last, but to believe that an iPad mini is an iPhone takes a special kind of ignorance about technology.

HTC's One Mini might be arriving in the UK a bit sooner than expected. Carphone Warehouse and Expansys are both saying that the new handset should be in stock starting tomorrow, August 9. Carphone Warehouse allows customers to get the One Mini either on contract.

HTC One mini can be currently reserved for 380 British Pounds. That is equal to about 445 euro or $578. In return, one gets a mid-range Android smartphone with outstanding design, and decent specs, such as a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch 720p display, and an UltraPixel camera that can shoot HDR video in 1080p resolution. The Samsung Galaxy SIII mini, which went on sale in the UK on Thursday, includes a 1GHz dual-core processor, a 5-megapixel camera and also the Jelly Bean 4.1 Android operating-system.

Despite being called 'mini', the handset includes a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display. Network operator Three said the Galaxy S3 mini come in its stores from Friday, and will be entirely on its website from 16 November.

From GLBenchmark database, it seems like Samsung will likely to be releasing a version called Samsung Note 8. Specs including an 8-inch Super Clear display and a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. It will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and feature 2GB RAM, HSPA+ support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, 5MP and 1.3MP cameras, 16 or 32GB internal memory, microSD card slot and of course, the same S Pen just like the other Galaxy Note models.

Not really big news, but we want to let you know that Samsung is coming out with a tweaked version of the Galaxy S III mini, that adds in support for Samsung's S Beam system, pairing NFC and WiFi-Direct for speedy data transfers, Samsung says a 10MB music file can be shuttled over in around two seconds. U.K. is bound to be among the first markets to get the upgraded variant.

Other than that, no other hardware alterations have been done to the device. The Samsung Galaxy S III mini with NFC packs the same dual-core processor running at 1GHz and a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with WVGA resolution, a 5-megapixel camera that can shoot 720p video and a front-facing cam for video chats. Samsung looks like it wants to introduce a Galaxy S IV Mini despite how many people were quite disappointed with the S III Mini's capabilities last year, which is nothing like its "big brother's" at all and falls short of being spectacular. Many thought that they'd much rather buy the more popular Galaxy Ace smartphones, since they have very similar features.

Samsung and Apple have always been in a tight race to smart devices supremacy and each has attracted droves of following all over the world. Each company will take a swipe at each other whenever they can and it's interesting and definitely most entertaining. The latest? Samsung thinks Note 8.0 is better than the iPad Mini because of several reasons.

According to the Korean giant, the Note 8.0 is waaaay better because it has a quad processor, is capable of multi-tasking, and has a stylish stylus! (Cheer!) It even went out of its way to create a poster for the jab aimed at the Apple A Pad Mini. It's also possible that they were talking about a different brand of device.

Kidding aside, Samsung has really topped its performance with high-profile devices and innovative technologies. According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S IV mini has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD with a pixel density of 256ppi in addition to a 1.6GHz dual-core processor, it's based on Samsung's TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0 running the latest version of Android, 4.2.2.  It's slightly bigger than the ongoing Galaxy S III mini, which features a 4" display of WVGA resolution.

The Galaxy S4 mini (GT-I9190) will be available in a dual-SIM version as well, likely carrying the Galaxy S4 mini duos moniker and GT-I9192 model number.

According to the source the Galaxy S4 mini is expected to make its debut in June or July this year.

An image of the Galaxy S4 Mini model appeared on twitter yesterday after it was listed on the Samsung support website.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S4 Mini is expected to have a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD 960 × 540 display with a pixel density of 256ppi. It is also said to have a 1.6GHz dual-core processor and is running the latest version of Android, 4.2.2.

The Galaxy S4 mini is expected to be launched during summer in June / July.

Samsung introduces new colors of the S 3 Mini in the UK, following a successful launch of its flagship device last March 14th. Carphone Warehouse reports that it has added a white S 3 Mini called La Fleur, with its flower decals on the side and they have also included Garnett Red on their selection.

Samsung has been known to introduce various colors for its devices to cater to the young and hip. This just goes to show that the company is really keen on updating its products, whether or not they are flagship, mid-range or low-end devices.

The S 3 Mini in these new colors will set you back monthly around £12.50 for six months and £25 thereafter. Phone costs £269.99 without a contract if you do not like getting tied to a particular carrier too long.

Screen shots that show Samsung's new Exynos 5210 were leaked over the net, which shows that the company might be developing it for the S 4 Mini. No further details were exposed but the chip will feature big.LITTLE technology by ARM. If this pushed through, it will consist of quad core processors, with both the dual Cortex A-15 and A-7 cores to split various levels of processing.

Since the recently-released Galaxy S 4 features octa-core processors, the Galaxy S Mini might be a quad-core device. It will reportedly have a 4.3-inch display that uses Super AMOLED technology. A new tablet is coming up at Samsung's camp but it's not the 10.1-inch Full HD AMOLED device that it was originally planning to follow up S 4's release. Instead, an 8-in AMOLED tablet will most likely be launched in response to the iPad Mini and another 7-incher, the Google Nexus 7.

Samsung Galaxy S4 mini has been confirmed by Bloomberg . The Bloomberg actually gave a detailed look on Samsung claims the Galaxy S4 mini will release shortly after the flagship Galaxy S4 will make its way into the market. Here's statement:

the Galaxy S4 Mini features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display with 960 x 540 pixels, 8MP rear camera, front-facing camera, MicroSD card support, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz Nature UX.

Samsung Electronicstoday announced the world's first commercial devices capable of TDD-LTE (Time-Division Duplex) and FDD-LTE (Frequency Division Duplex) seamless handover technology. Samsung will launch TDD/FDD Dual Mode LTE versions of the Samsung GALAXY S4 and Samsung GALAXY S4 mini, which will enable continuous and seamless voice and data communications even as the devices switch between two different types of LTE networks.

Samsung Mobile's president quoted:

"Samsung continues to accelerate global LTE market deployment, addressing technical challenges faster than anyone else. With today's TDD / FDD LTE seamless handover devices announcement, Samsung again demonstrates the company's commitment to driving better, more convenient customer experiences. The first commercially available TDD / FDD seamless handover devices will allow customers to fully enjoy the benefits of fast mobile data communications no matter where they are," said JK Shin, president of Samsung's IT & Mobile Division.

Samsung is the first player in the global mobile industry to provide dual-mode (TDD-LTE/FDD-LTE) smartphones. Samsung will continue to launch TDD-LTE devices in other markets throughout third quarter.  Strategy Analytics estimates that there will be almost 400 million LTE devices sold in 2014, and almost 500 million in 2015. This year there should be about 270 million LTE devices shipped around the world.

Samsung is planning to deck up its 4.3-inch Galaxy S4 Mini in three new color options, as a refresh from the drab black and white they're already sold in. These include Arctic Blue, Ruby Wine (red), and Brown Autumn.  

Samsung also plans to offer its 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 in two color options of its own, Garnet Red and Gold Brown. Galaxy S4 Mini should roll out in its new trims in the week of August 26, while Galaxy Tab 3 should roll out in its shiny new trims in the week of September 30.

AT&T has officially announced the Samsung Samsung galaxy S III Mini, after much delay.

Samsung Galaxy S III Mini will be provided by AT&T as "an choice for customers seeking reasonably limited smartphone experience at an outstanding value." It will likely be sold just for $0.99 on contract. Pre-orders will begin tomorrow, September 19, with the handset likely to be shipped on September 27.

AT&T's Samsung galaxy s III Mini runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and isn't too not the same as the handset that we've seen around since this past year. Its features include a 4 inch WVGA display, LTE and HSPA connectivity, 5MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 1,500 mAh battery. Of course, if you're looking for almost free smartphones, you need to know that AT&T can also be offering the Pantech Flex, HTC One VX, and HTC 8X (with Windows Phone 8) for $0.99 on contract. Moreover, a certified "like-new" Galaxy S4 16GB costs $29.99 on contract.

AT&T tday has released the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini. It's a smartphone that's been available in Europe and Asia since last year, so AT&T is asking only $0.99 for it on contract. Off contract, the handset can be bought for $284.99.

Introduced by AT&T as a product "for customers seeking a premium smartphone experience in an outstanding value", the Samsung Samsung galaxy s III Mini includes a 4 inch WVGA display, LTE and HSPA connectivity, VGA front-facing camera, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support (up to 64GB), along with a 2,000 mAh battery. AT&T's S III Mini runs Android 4.2 out of the box, unlike the international version, that was released running Android 4.1.

Above image is the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini for the US carriers. According to evleaks, it has revealed three new hues from the S4 mini, arriving on AT&T and Sprint networks in the US.

AT&T will be getting an extremely flashy shade of pink, or hot pink because it is often referred to. That one is bound to divide opinions but there is no shortage of people that like pink devices.

Sprint has got the more sober shades. You have the standard monochrome, or Black Mist and White Frost, as Samsung likes to call them.
Other than the colors, they are identical to the existing Galaxy S4 mini available in the US.

Today, the same anonymous tipster has sent in screenshots of Antutu benchmark and CPU-Z, confirming the specifications we were provided earlier, and a heap of new pictures of the device, some alongside the Galaxy S5 for size comparison.

We can now confirmed that confirm that the S5 will feature a 4.5" Super AMOLED display of 720p resolution and runs on Exynos 3 Quad chipset with a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU @ 1.4GHz, Mali-400 MP4 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM.

Paul Semenza, an analyst at DisplaySearch, has surmised in an interview that to beat the iPad Mini to the market, the second generation Nexus 7 may be unveiled even before Apple's higher-resolution device will be launched.

The iPad Mini Retina will possibly be introduced on the third or fourth quarter and will have similar resolution as the iPad 3 and 4. The present iPad is not as smooth as other contemporaries in the market. The Retina technology will double the iPad Mini's pixel density and will really improve the quality of display.

Semenza also mentions potential suppliers for the iPad Mini's display. He didn't mention any for the Nexus 7 but the device will similarly feature a richer display than the last generation. It might also feature HD technology as smaller tablets are somehow going in the same direction as the bigger tablets' display were improved markedly.
