Beginning January 31, the Samsung Galaxy S II (GB only) from T-Mobile will have a software update to Android version 2.3.6 / Baseband version T989UVLDH via Over The Air (OTA) and Samsung Kies. This update provides security enhancements Vlingo S Voice improvements.


You can update in two ways:


  • Over the air (OTA) update to T989UVLDH or T989UVLI4: If you want to update to T989UVLDH or T989UVLI4, you can update via OTA. Please wait for the notification to update. The OTA will continue to be delivered until February 28. The update is also availabe for manual download using Kies.
  • Manual download to T989UVLDH or T989UVLI4 If you want to update to T989UVLDH or T989UVLI4, you can update via Samsung Kies. Ensure you are on the latest version of Kies prior to attempting the update. See https://www.samsung.com/us/kies/ to confirm the version.

 



According to AT&T Forum, a small update has been pushed out to their version of the Galax S II, please make sure you check your phone for any updates.

As some of you have already noted, an update is available for the Samsung Galaxy SII.



The update includes fixes for devices that may become unresponsive and/or power down while sitting idle on rare occasions. It also enhances security to protect against malware vulnerability. You will receive a notification on your phone to update.



NOTE - You must have updated to Android version 4.0 to receive notification of the new software update

This is rolling out over the air, so hit your Settings app to find it or just wait for the notification to show up.
