Earlier, we told you about the BlackBerry Slider device, we were wondering if it was real or just photoshop. The first images were a bit blurry and hard to make out. Now you can end the squinting and look at these new higher resolution images of the first ever full QWERTY keyboard slider BlackBerry.
The body style of the BlackBerry Slider is much like the Storm2, but it doesn't fall into the same category, as it lacks the SurePress touchscreen 'clicking' technology. It wouldn't make too much sense to have two different devices essentially the same, only one has a fairly larger screen and its keyboard slides out.

Some details of the Blackberry Tour 2 revealed by Boy Genius Report. Here's what they know as far as details is concern.
* Physical size is nearly, if not identical to the original BlackBerry Tour
* The trackpad works great, just as you'd expect
* We guessed the original Tour was slightly underpowered, and we were right. Fortunately the Tour2 seems to use the processor found in the Storm2, and that's a welcome improvement. In the short time we've been using it, there aren't many slowdowns that we'd normally get on the Tour, and the device feels much more snappy
* The keyboard remains at greatness status
* Wi-Fi works like any other BlackBerry
Verizon Wireless does have a habit of holding things close until immediatley before launch. We will definitely be keeping our ears to the ground for this one!

It looks like BlackBerry Tour2 will be coming into the market soon based on CrackBerry.com, I have personally used a BlackBerry Tour from Verizon, and it's a decent phone with some cool business user features. Right now the features and specs of the Tour 2 is still out of blue.
Some information for those out there that are awaiting the release of the BlackBerry Tour 2 aka 9650 aka Essex. If you have been holding out for the Tour 2 your waiting may soon be over as rumors abound claim the Tour 2 should be arriving anytime soon now. Be it this month or next, that window of release is there as a rumor.
A often used indicator for this is when devices get loaded into CellBrite. CellBrite can be used as a collaborative POS system, but also has the capability to allow transfer of contacts to and from wireless devices. It's used by quite a few carriers in their stores. This time around though, seeing the Tour 2 loaded up in there and given its source, being that of a Verizon tipster, it's safe to say that this one came from within Verizon. That's all we have for now folks but as the day gets closer we're sure well see some more release information pop up.

If you have a BlackBerry and use the built-in Messages and Contacts apps, you can now search the email and contacts on your device using the new version of Google Mobile App.
Just type (or speak) your query - perhaps the name of the person who sent you the mail or a phrase from the text - and Google Mobile App will search through the emails and contacts on your device and return the results. You can quickly reply to an email or forward it on.

Kodak, the company that invented the first affordable camera, has filed a lawsuit against Apple and Research in Motion over the infringement of a digital imaging technology patent.
Kodak claims that Apple's iPhones and RIM's camera-enabled Blackberry devices infringe a Kodak patent that covers technology related to how images are previewed.
Laura Quatela, chief intellectual property officer at Eastman Kodak Company, said, "We have had discussions for years with both companies in an attempt to resolve this issue amicably, but we have not been able to reach a satisfactory agreement. In light of that, we are taking this action to ensure that we protect the interests of our shareholders and the existing licensees of our technology."

BlackBerry's upcoming Tour2 handset AKA 9650 or Essex, has surfaced on the net, BGR claims the physical size and overall appearance of the new model closely matches the original Tour.
The most significant external change is the new optical trackpad, which reportedly works as it should and is expected to alleviate the problems users reported with the previous trackball design
The BlackBerry Tour2 is expected to launch with Verizon sometime early next year,, although pricing remains unknown.

It's amazing, twice in a week of service disruption? I think it's hurting Rimm's stable service reputation. nytimes.com wrote an article on the news. check it out.
OTTAWA - For the second time in a week, BlackBerry users found themselves without e-mail and Internet service, refreshing their screens in futility on Tuesday night as they languished in an agonizing information vacuum.
ome BlackBerry users continued to experience intermittent service disruptions on Wednesday after a major failure shut down the popular wireless e-mail service throughout North and South America.
The users - often called CrackBerries for the devotion - were vocal in their complaints. Many used Twitter to express outrage over the latest interruption. "Never Again BlackBerry," read one tweet, while another said the best way to remove the frustration was to leave the BlackBerry at home.
The shutdown appears to have started at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and service was generally restored by 2:45 a.m. Wednesday.
It was the second disruption in less than a week. Like other shutdowns in the past, it appeared to be an unintended consequence of a software upgrade to the system.
