Galaxy S II PLUS

A device identifying itself as "Galaxy S 2+" showed up in the online test results of benchmark An3DBenchXL. The benchmark results offer the following info about the device: OS version 2.3.4, screen resolution 480x800 and CPU clock 1.5GHz.

Screenshot

The regular Galaxy S II has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and so does the regular Galaxy Nexus. But clues to an alleged upgrade of the Galaxy Nexus with a 1.5GHz processor and a new GPU showed up a couple of days ago.

Quite a coincidence, but a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket i727, for example, more or less matches the specs 1.5GHz CPU, Android Gingerbread and WVGA screen.

Galaxy S II

The Samsung Galaxy S II has grown from a single phone to a Big family of mobiles in all shapes and sizes. It took Samsung about three months to ship 5 million units and another two months for sales to reach 10 million.

Now, sales of the outgoing Samsung flagship droid have reached 20 million units across the world. It launched 10 months ago, meaning it took five months to sell both the first and the second ten million units.

The sales did not slow down probably because new modifications kept coming out with screen sizes reaching from up to 4.65-inch from the original 4.3-inch and with 4G LTE connectivity thrown in for good measure.

Bell

This is exactly what we all would like to see from our carriers, not just rumors and speculations dates that the update is "on the way", but an actual list of Android 4.0 updates with an ETA for every device involved. Bell Canada showed its Ice Cream Sandwich update plans.

Canada Bell

The list only has 7 devices on it though. If the list is correct, the Samsung Galaxy S II and Samsung Galaxy Note are first up for the ICS update, which should hit in April. May only has the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 update there. June is a big month with updates for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE, HTC Sensation and HTC Raider. And, the LG Optimus LTE rounds out the updates in July.

Galaxy S II I9100G

The original I9100 Galaxy S II started getting its Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update by Late-March, but the TI-OMAP version of the device "I9100G" owners was not that lucky as they didn't get the ICS update till now.

ICS

However, Today, We started getting reports that the I9100G ICS 4.0.3 update is rolling-out in several countries. It seems the rollout is only a limited availability for testing the firmware, but it will go global by the Next Week.

GalaxyS II ICS

Today, we received some confirmed info that Samsung is now shipping All NEW Galaxy S II I9100 units with pre-installed Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. These new devices are Now Available on the Indian market, but we guess other areas will be getting it very soon.

The ICS update for the Galaxy S II has been around for a while but there is still some regions didn't get the Update yet like(France XEF, India, Malaysia, Middle-east... etc), And they will appreciate if Samsung release the ICS Update for their devices and spare them the effort of upgrading.

Galaxy S II

Samsung confirm that the old versions of the Galaxy S II will get the ICS 4.0.3 Update OTA in the Upcoming weeks. If you want to get an ICS-bundled Galaxy S II device, you can get it from any samsung retailer starting from today in india. Other markets will get it very soon with the same old Galaxy S II price.

Galaxy S II

Samsung GALAXY S II GT-I9100 is the previous flagship Android device from Samsung, who has been replaced with the Galaxy S III. Lately, Galaxy S II users received the ICS 4.0.3 update in many regions and U.S. users update has been delayed. Users who already updated their device to 4.0.3 is facing some bugs & issues and asking about future Updates to ICS 4.0.4, like the one on the Galaxy S III.

ICS 4.0.4

Unfortunately, According to our sources, Samsung have no plans to Update the Galaxy S II I9100 to ICS 4.0.4, the main reason is not yet clear.

However, Samsung won't leave the users with these bugs and planning to release a Minor OTA (Over The Air) Update to fix these bugs by the end of the year, probably about Q4,2012 or may be earlier, but do NOT expect this minor software to upgrade your device to any further ICS build version (4.0.4) or even to JellyBean (4.1.0).

Samsung

Rumors is still circling around the Galaxy S III and samsung still deny all the rumors. Finally, Samsung revealed some details surrounding its next flagship Android smartphone. In fact, they specifically say:

"The successor to the GALAXY S II smartphone will be unveiled in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product. We cannot confirm the detailed information at the moment.", said Samsung

Interestingly, Samsung does not explicitly refer to the successor to the Galaxy S II as the Galaxy S III but it will have another Name that is not announced yet, So we can still dream about this Upcoming handset, Samsung may show it on April but its actual release date to the Market will come later on.

Samsung

Most of the Smartphones companies already released their new line-up and flagships on the MWC, So it is highly possible that we can see an unveiling from Samsung sometime soon (First Half on 2012), while commercial availability could potentially happen even before June.
