Boot2Gecko is using the latest open web standards for its apps, which means that apps written for it will be compatible with just about any smartphone running the OS, or even every device with an HTML5-enabled browser. And do not worry even though the OS itself is cloud-based, you might still use your phone offline and even run apps and games on it offline caching is a technology already supported by the web standards.

The Mozilla team had the platform installed on a Samsung Galaxy S II and were doing all the demoes on the Samsung former flagship, but the company is actually looking to release a completely different device. Its aim is to produce an ultra-cheap smartphone, powered by a 600 MHz CPU and packing just 256MB of RAM.

Firefox 15 Android

Mozilla is making something big, according to their Twitter teasing a Major Firefox update on Android.

There are virtually no indications on what the "something BIG" part might be, but judging from the not so many Firefox goodies the browser has seen on Android, it's safe to assume the announcement is in this ballpark.

Next week is when the Google I/O conference will take place (June,27) so it's highly probable Mozilla will make its announcement there. Google will also announce its new Android JellyBean 4.1 too.

Firefox

Most of tablets users use a non-stock web browser that supposedly enhance the user experience than the default/stock browser. Mozilla, the makers of Firefox, wants to step into this.

However, the Mozilla developers have decided to follow a totally different approach. By developing an iPad browser, codenamed "Junior", with which they aim to "reinvent the browser for a new form factor".

First of all, there are No tabs and No address bar taking up that precious display real estate. Instead, the user interface consists of a back button on the left and a plus button on the right side of the screen. The latter brings forth three items when pressed: a list of recently visited pages, a list of bookmarks, and a unified search/URL bar underneath. Watch the Video below for More info !
