The Nokia Asha 302 is currently available in the UK. The first operator to stock it is Three of UK. The Nokia Asha 302 is among the three new Nokia Asha-branded S40 feature phones announced a week ago in Barcelona during Mobile World Congress 2012. It was leaked once before that, and it's a cheap QWERTY candybar for that masses.
It's quite cool how the Asha 302 took this short amount of time to go from announcement to availability. Service Provider Three offers it both on Pay Monthly plans as well as Pay as you go if you'd rather not agree to long-term contracts.
On contract, the Nokia Asha 302 could be yours free of charge starting at £15 each month. For that amount of cash you'll get 300 minutes, 5,000 texts, and 250 MB of information each month. In the exact opposite side with the spectrum sits Three's The main one Plan, that provides you 2,000 minutes, 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes, 5,000 texts, in addition to All-you-can-eat data for £30 per month. There are some other options though, make sure you check them out too prior to you making up your mind.
On Pay as you go, the Nokia Asha 302 costs just £89.99, meaning that unless you need a new contract, you're probably better off paying much upfront while not having to shell out money every month (no matter how little). But it's your decision after all. To obtain your Asha 302 now, head on over to Three.
The Nokia Asha 302 includes a 2.4-inch 240×320 display, single GHz processor, a 3.15 MP camera with video recording support, 256 MB of ROM, 128 MB of RAM, microSD card slot, 14.4 Mbps HSDPA, 5.76 Mbps HSUPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, plus a 1,320 mAh battery.

We take Intel's MeeGo tablet UI for a spin at Mobile World Congress 2011. The MeeGo tablet-optimized OS is running on an ExoPC, and is shown here in pre-production form. Given it's prototype nature, we're holding off on final judgment. Feel free to draw your own conclusions for why Nokia isn't pushing MeeGo as enthusiastically as last year.
Google's Android dethroned Nokia's Symbian as the preferred smartphone platform in the final quarter of 2010, ending a reign that began with the start of the business 10 years ago. Research firm Canalys said on Monday phonemakers offered 32.9 million Android-equipped telephones in the last quarter, roughly seven occasions greater than a yr in the past, compared with Symbian's sales of 31 million.
The success of the open-source Android working system, which has grow to be the favoriate for many phone makers, leaves Google properly positioned as cellphones are attributable to surpass computer systems for accessing the web. Among key gamers in the trade thus far solely Nokia, Apple and RIM haven't resisted using it.
Canalys said the overall smartphone market grew 89 percent from a year ago in the fourth quarter, with all vendors in total selling 101.2 million smartphones.

According to Wall Stree Journal, Nokia will be cancelling it's launch of the Symbian3 phone code name X7 on ATT network, the reason behind this is that Nokia doesn't think ATT will be giving the phone enough marketing support efforts.
Nokia had intended to debut the touchscreen phone, dubbed the X7, in conjunction with AT&T ahead of the Mobile World Congress trade show next month in Barcelona, Spain, these people said.
"The X7 would have been the first Nokia smartphone launched exclusively with a U.S. carrier since former Microsoft Corp. executive Stephen Elop took over as Nokia's CEO last September. The unexpected cancellation leaves Nokia further behind in its effort to correct a major strategic weakness-its poor showing in the lucrative U.S. market, where it lags Apple Inc., BlackBerry maker Research in Motion Ltd. and phones powered by Google Inc.'s Android software"

Nokia has posted a tweet on it's official twitter account with the following statement:
"The Nokia N8 has received the highest amount of consumer pre-orders in Nokia history."
The popular Nokia N8 is easily one of the most eagerly anticipated devices on the year. It has the new Symbian^3 OS, a 12-megapixel camera, an HDMI port, huge processing and graphical display power and a massively overhauled UI - basically, it's meant to be pretty damn good.
According the knowyourmobile, Nokia N8 is an absolutely fantastic smartphone. It has everything you could possibly wish for in bucket loads - camera, tech, features, storage, UI, looks, etc - and is a fine first - and only!? - outing for the new and vastly improved Symbian^3 OS. In short, if you don't want an iPhone 4, but want a device that can match it in practically every department, the Nokia N8 should be your first port of call.

Nothing is impossible after you see this video. A Nokia N900 got hacked and made to run Google's latest android os 2.2 also called the Froyo.
The video shows a demo of android 2.2 froyo running on the nokia n900. including a demo of the new lightning fast browser, avg of 3 seconds to load a fairly heavy page over wifi.
The project is not yet complete, but they did managed to finish these tasks.
N8x0 Port:
- ** Now Using Android 1.6 'Donut'
- ** Wifi works,
- ** Bluetooth Works
- ** Touchscreen works,
- ** Buttons work,
- ** Sound Via A2DP Bluetooth Works and seems stable
- ** first msdos vfat partition on the booting memory card work, other card slot does not work.
- ** Swap is autoenabled on boot using a seperate sd partition(Requires a different partitioning layout to original nitdroid hence my new post)
- ** Disabled androids new VOLD sdcard monitoring service and reverted to the older 'Mountd' as this can recognise cards with multiple partitions unlike vold
- ** SDCard is detected and mounted
- * Removed Google apps due to crashing and causing problems
- * Edited init.rc memory settings to allow more memory to be used.
- * Added E-Buddy Messenger
- * Added ASTRO File Manager
- * Added AndChat IRC Client
- * Added Connectbot ssh/telnet client
- * Added Snake Game
- * Added Twidget Lite Widget
- * Removed Voice Search/Dialer
- * Home screen now allows adding/moving/deleting items
- * Touch screen seems to be a bit inaccurate right at the bottom so try to keep off the very bottom edge - not too hard because buttons are fine size wise
