Google's Android operating system version 4. 0, better known by as "Ice Ointment Sandwich", has been slow to reach on smartphones and capsules (it recently debuted inside U. S. on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone). But Chinese tech company Lenovo used CES to introduce the main smart television with Google android 4. 0, a 55-inch 3-D (240Hz recharge rate) LED product called the K91. It's going to available in April : in China.

Lenovo is mentioning the user interface as the Sandwich UI-letting you move among video on need, Internet apps and of course regular TV.

TV apps are customizable by Google android developers. More than 100 apps are preloaded and you'll be able to tap into the Google android Market, a Lenovo store and Lenovo cloud services-you are able to share music, videos, pictures or anything else from tablets and devices and computers.

The TV carries a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor, 1 gig involving RAM, a hard get with 8 gigs associated with storage, plus a removable 2GB Sdcard.

There's also a built-in 5 megapixel camera for video chats, and also, as is the case Ice Cream Sandwich phones, to "unlock" the tv.

(Hopefully the facial recognition feature will work better than it does indeed on phones.) The handheld remote control features a touchpad, 5-way keys and a motion sensor. It may also respond, Lenovo says, to voice commands.

Lenovo is creating a 42-inch model as properly, but the company hasn't disclosed any of its TV plans for the U. S. market or even spilled the beans on pricing. Lenovo did tell me that despite the fact that the K91 employs Android, it is not a "Google TV".

Dell has confirmed that its Streak tablet will get the Android 2.2 operating system (Froyo) later this 12 months, but it surely won't run on T-Mobile's 3G network.

The Dell Streak worth was briefly shown on the Dell site earlier today though Dell has since pulled the web page off line. While the page was up, the pricing for the Streak showed a price of $299.ninety nine on a two yr contract with ATT with a price tag of $549.99 off contract. With Dell pulling the web page from it's website, there's a slim chance it may very well be modified nearer to the release date (which is any day now we consider). Nevertheless, we think the prices will probably be what it is.

In addition to temporarily unveiling the Dell Streak worth, the value of the Dell Aero was additionally noticed with a price of $99.99 on contract and $299.ninety nine off contract with a launch date of August 9. We'll attempt get more particulars on this and replace as soon as possible.

The opposite piece of reports the corporate revealed right now is that it's going to "not be certified for T-Cellular operation overall." In other words, the Dell Streak is barely going to work on AT&T's 3G community in the U.S., similar to a sure different 3G tablet.

As you may already know, Microsoft quit shipping the Kin Series couple of weeks ago in an official announcement, this made many people wondering what really prompted Microsoft from plan such a quick decision during this short of product release of its product, that's not Microsoft, it's unusually for them to give up so fast. Even the not-so good selling Zune music device is still on the stock shelves.

well according to the new blog site MobileCrunch, Microsoft had sold merely 8,800 units since its release date, at a no-contract price of $329, it works out to be $2.8 million (I trust their numbers). This barely covers the heavily advertisement dollars that microsoft had put it for the launch as well as press conferences it thrown.

In my personal opinion, I think Microsoft did the right thing because there's no way in heaven that the Kin will be anywhere nearly as popular as say the Motorola Droid. Please feel free to share your view?

The Altek Leo was launched today at the Communicasia event. It will come with Android 2.1(Eclair), and will support Android 2.2(Froyo) when it is released. It looks to be an excellent phone, but 14.1 megapixel optical zoom camera? it's a beast in my opinion

The touch-driven Leo also packs Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity with HSPDA support, and these complete the known specs.  Optics-wise, the Leo comes with an extendable 3x optical zoom lens, which is widest at 36mm, It also comes with a Xenon flash for lighting up dark subjects.

Here's the official press release:

Altek Corporation, a global leader in the design and manufacture of digital cameras (TWSE: 3059) announced today at CommunicAsia (CMMA) 2010 Singapore the launch of Leo, the world's first 3.5G professional camera smart phone. Operated via its generous touch screen panel, Leo delivers 3.5G (HSDPA) functionality and features a 3x optical zoom and 14 megapixels CCD, delivering a true 3-in-1 product that integrates full digital camera, digital video and mobile phone functionalities. Leo's introduction at CMMA electrified the exhibition floor and made it the biggest mobile phone event of CMMA 2010.

Alex Hsia, president and CEO of Altek, notes that, "picture taking has already risen to become one of the most important mobile phone functions for consumers. Phones able to capture high definition, high quality images and video are a win-win for users as well as telecommunication service providers, as the latter can anticipate rising bandwidth usage rates when users share images remotely."

"The Leo mobile phone," Alex continued, "is the product of our accumulated advances and breakthroughs in imaging technology as well as Altek's continued refinement and improvement of optical technologies. Stylishly designed, Leo plugs users into a wireless world of excitement and fun. Its high-end digital camera and video functions means Leo users need never again let a special moment pass by unrecorded. Brilliant High-Definition Camera in an Elegantly Streamlined Mobile Phone

Leo's clean, streamlined look and brushed metallic exterior exudes a highly refined fashion sense. Its front face displays a highly polished varnish, and the entire presentation whispers style, quality and precision craftsmanship. The 3.2" TFT, with 480x800 (WVGA) resolution and 16.7 million colors, ensure brilliant, high definition onscreen images that remain true and clear from most any angle. From whatever position you need to take your shot, and no matter how many people gather around the screen to enjoy pictures, onscreen images remain crisp and visible across a wide viewing range. The multi-layer coating over the TFT screen helps reduce screen luminosity in bright light environments to improve viewing quality.

With its high-speed processor and powerful, simple-to-use Android user interface, Leo is easy and intuitive to use. The glass-panel touch screen offers a smooth feel with multi-touch functionality. Scroll through web pages or pictures with the flick of a finger, and use your thumb and index finger to expand or reduce onscreen images. Users no longer face losing special moments while scrolling through a mobile phone menu trying to activate the camera function.

Leo's high quality 3x optical zoom lens greatly expands users' photographic possibilities. Whether shooting close up or at a distance, images remain sharp and vivid. The onboard xenon flash and AF assist lamp help capture in-focus, vibrant images under low light conditions. Leo's 14 million effective pixels are the icing on the cake, helping ensure exceptional resolution even when viewed in large formats.

In addition to taking brilliant photographs, Leo takes high resolution video in 720p (1280 x 720) and 30FPS formats. The video function uses H.264 compression to retain the highest quality images for playback.

Leo incorporates the latest advances in blink and smile detection functionality as well as integrates a large suite of innovative and creative photo editing functions - including popular "fish eye" and "skin enhancement" options. We have every confidence that Leo will give users an experience that is smart, savvy and entertaining. The new Leo clearly reflects Altek's product development goals and strategy, embodied in the slogan, "To Bring Good Memories for Everyone."
