Dell has apparently been hard at work prepping a Wi-Fi-solely version of its Dell Streak 7 Android-powered tablet. And while the Wi-Fi+HSPA version of the device has already been launched on T-Mobile, this is the first time we're listening to of the model that doesn't sport any cellular information connectivity.  Unusually for such cases, the details about the Streak 7 Wi-Fi-only version doesn't come via a leak, but from a product listing over at Amazon.

Amazon has began taking pre-orders for the Wi-Fi-only Dell Streak 7, For only $379.99. Definitely worth the price, plus it comes with free shipping.

The numbers aren't too impressive, according to "The Street" website, Microsoft had only sold 40k Wndows Phone 7 devices since it's released last week.

Even with a glitzy media intro last month hosted by champion inside-seller and company chief Steve Ballmer, Microsoft, which spent a reported $100 million on the phone's advertising campaign, with that kind of budget you could expect much more devices sold, but according to a market research source who tracks phone sales. 40k is the number so far.

Microsoft reps declined to comment. A T-Mobile spokeswoman did not offer a number of phones sold, but said Tuesday that the Win7 phone was "already receiving strong interest from our customers right out of the gate."

So how does 40,000 Window 7 phones measure up? Google said last month that it was selling 200,000 Android phones a day. And Apple has said that its iPhone sales rate was 270,000 a day.

Let's give it up to LG and Microsoft to at least making it happen, giving out 10 paid apps every month is welcoming news.

LG Electronics and Microsoft Corp. announced today that they are teaming up to provide customers with a free selection of quality applications for LG customers with Windows Phone 7 handsets. LG and Microsoft will subsidize a revolving portfolio of hand-picked applications, providing free access to quality applications that take advantage of the unique features and design of Windows Phone 7.

LG and Microsoft will offer Windows Phone 7 applications across popular categories - including social connectivity, gaming and helpful utilities - ensuring that customers have access to the applications they value most. Ten free applications with a value of more than $30 (U.S.) will be given away every 60 days. LG's Windows Phone 7 customers can download these applications for free (for a period of 60 days) via LG Application Store, which will be accessible directly from LG Windows Phone 7 models.

Selected Windows Phone application developers will be provided with exclusive marketing opportunities and resources to promote their applications with LG. Developers of selected applications will benefit from promotional support through LG's marketing presence and Microsoft's Windows Phone Marketplace. LG will promote the new applications through in-store sales events and on the LG Mobile Global Facebook page, creating a larger market for developers and bringing them closer to their audiences.

This is not unexpected, the Kin devices are just a failure, and microsoft is definitely doing the correct thing by killing the Kin One and Kin Two devices, and they confirmed with Cnet with the following statment:

"We have made the decision to focus exclusively on Windows Phone 7 and we will not ship KIN in Europe this fall as planned," the company said. "Additionally, we are integrating our KIN team with the Windows Phone 7 team, incorporating valuable ideas and technologies from KIN into future Windows Phone releases. We will continue to work with Verizon in the U.S. to sell current KIN phones."

Neither Verizon nor Microsoft would say how many devices were sold, but a source told CNET that the number of Kins sold thus far is more than 1,000 but south of 10,000--significantly below expectations.

Microsoft will now focus on Windows Phone 7.  Hopefully we will get to see something cool coming out from Windows Phone 7 in the near future.
