You've seen the unboxing, you've read over the stats time and time again, you've had the day marked on your calendar for weeks...nay months! The day is finally here! Those days of T-Mobile Customer Service Representatives pushing the aging Wing whenever a customer brings up that "other phone" are now a thing of the past!
Normally, we would have put this up a little earlier, but with the way things are around here I guess it's better late than never right? The Samsung Behold is now available for purchase and upgrade over at T-Mobile in both Espresso and Rose for the low low price of $149.99 after that $50 mail in rebate.
There has been quite a lot of excitement about this phone over in the forums, so head on over to the Samsung area and let us know what you think!

http://www.Samsung-Eternity.com
The Samsung Eternity is a phone that zigs nicely, but we really wanted it to zag.
Features for which we didn't have high hopes, like the onscreen keyboard or the GPS navigation, actually performed much better than we expected, while some of the key features for this device, like the AT&T Mobile TV service or the Web browser, fell flat.
The phone was nice and responsive, whether we were moving widgets around on the screen or switching the screen orientation as we rotated the phone, and though we think Samsung needs to take the TouchWIZ interface back to the drawing board, once we dug past the standby screen to reach the real features on this phone, it was easy to come away pleased, if not impressed.
Release: November 2008. Price: $150.

The Tocco Lite is actually Samsung S5230, the handset we saw back in March alongside the Samsung S5600.
The different moniker is used by Samsung due to the fact that its Tocco brand has become quite popular in the UK (the F480 and the UltraTouch S8300 are sold under this brand).
The features of Tocco Lite include:
* Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity
* 3 inch TFT touchscreen display with 262K color and 240 x 400 pixels
* TouchWiz UI
* Accelerometer
* Facebook, MySpace and YouTube widgets
* Bluetooth 2.1
* Samsung DNSe 2.0 music technology
* FM Radio with RDS
* 3.2 MP camera
* 50 MB of built-in memory
* microSD card support, up to 8 GB
* 104 x 53 x 11.9 mm
Samsung Tocco Lite / S5230 will be available in the UK starting May.

NAVTEQ announced that it has signed an agreement to supply NAVTEQ map data and content to Samsung Electronics.
Samsung Electronics will have access to all 76 countries in the NAVTEQ map database. The agreement also allows Samsung Electronics the rights to utilize NAVTEQ content including Visual Content, Speed Limits, Extended Lanes and NAVTEQ Discover Cities.
Samsung Electronics will launch the Samsung I8910 HD (also known as the OMNIA HD) with NAVTEQ Map and content in Europe in May. The GPS-enabled Samsung I8910 HD will offer drivers an enriched navigation experience through enhanced visual content such as 3D landmarks and 3D city models. It also offers advanced navigation with speed limits and extended lanes. More uniquely with NAVTEQ Discover Cities on Samsung I8910 HD, urban travelers will be able to take full advantage of their surroundings and help them get from place to place with a variety of routing options.
The Samsung I8910 HD is incorporated with a social networking functionality which uses NAVTEQ map data and content. It allows users to find their friends online and determine the quickest way to route or walk to them. Users can also use the local POI search capability and find places recommended by their friends.

We first saw Verizon's Samsung Alias 2 U750 at the end of March, but back then there were no details about its release date.
Now it looks like the new Alias 2 is ready to hit the shelves on May 11, and, according to Phone Arena, it will come with e-ink technology - as initially assumed.
Samsung Alias 2's "Magic Key keypad" uses e-ink to transform itself from a regular alphanumeric keypad into a full QWERTY one, depending on how you open the clamshell.

The Samsung Propel Pro is a compact slider phone with an easy to use joystick that allows users to navigate through the phone's menus and messages seamlessly. The phone allows users to access their multiple email accounts, through Microsoft Direct Push for corporate email, and At&T Xpress Mail for accessing their personal emaila ccount. It also allows over-the-air account synchronization for contacts, calendar, and task lists using Microsoft Exchange Server.
The Samsung Propel also lets users browse the web using IE Mobile, sync schedules and contacts as well as manage their Windows mobile documents including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. It also features threaded SMS, Internet connection sharing, mobile banking and voice command.
For enterprise-grade mobile solution, the Samsung Propel supports Microsoft's System Center Mobile Device Manager. This allows Mobile Device Manager administrators with software distribution and update capabilities as well as security-enhanced access to company date.
Other features and specs of the Samsung Propel include, AT&T GPS Navigator, GPS-enabled turn-by-turn voice, on-screen driving or walking directions, colorful 3-D moving maps, mobile banking, AT&T Video Share, MobiTV, AT&T Mobile Music, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.0 megapixel camera with video capture, and microSD memory card slot.

The good: The Samsung Impression has a brilliant touch screen, a roomy keyboard, and an intuitive design. It offers a functional midrange feature set and admirable multimedia performance and call quality.
The bad: The Samsung Impression has a proprietary headset jack, the camera lacks a flash, and keyboard shortcuts are few. Also, it lacks voice dialing and the promised battery life is rather short.
The bottom line: The Samsung Impression isn't perfect, but it ranks high on our list as a messaging and multimedia phone.

Samsung Omnia Pro B7330 is a clear upgrade to Omnia PRO B7320 and when you compare them head to head, the differences aren't many. To start with, B7330 smartphone has a revamped key design and will come pre-installed with Windows Mobile 6.5 OS.
The screen too is bumped to 2.63-inches (320×320) as compared to B7320's 2.4-inch (320×240). Other changes are its 1500mAh battery, cut the thickness by around 2mm and 320MB of internal memory (we're not sure if it includes ROM as well).
Amongst the common things, this phone too has HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.2MP camera, GPS and a microSD card slot.

Here are the main specs of Samsung Corby:
* Quad-band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE
* 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen display
* Access to YouTube, MySpace and Facebook
* Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
* MP3 player
* FM radio
* 2MP camera
* MicroSD card support
* 103 x 57 x 13 mm
* 92 grams
Samsung Corby S3650 was recently approved by the FCC, so it might be launched in the US, via AT&T or T-Mobile, as a 3G-less, inexpensive handset.
the Samsung S3650 Corby should be available in Europe in the next few weeks - just like the weird-looking Samsung B3310.

As you may remember, Samsung Save is the first device will uilitize the Samsung's own proprietary Mobile OS called the Samsung Bada, I personally has some hands-on experience with the device at CTIA wireless, and I have to say, I am not that impressed. It's not bad, but compare to the Android OS, it's still needed much improvements.
The Samsung Wave also boasts some top-line specs with a 1Ghz processor, 5 mega-pixel camera (with flash), high definition video recording capabilities, WiFi support and a handy 3.5mm jack.
GSMarena got confirmation that Samsung Wave will be available on both Orange and Vodafone on May 28th.

In this super compeitive smartphone handset market, Samsung isn't lagging behind at all, one of it's darlings, the Samsung Galaxy S will be released to all major carriers next month. As you probably already know the Samsung Galaxy S is definitely capable of matching the specs of the HTC Evo 4G. It also doesn't have the hardware keyboard, a weekness in some people's eyes.
But Samsung isn't going to disappoint folks who love the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S but wanted a hardware qwerty keyboard, the Samsung Galaxy S Pro does exactly that. Here are the features.
- * Android 2.1, seemingly with TouchWiz UI 3.0
- * WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
- * EVDO Rev A / WiMax
- * VGA front-facing camera
- * 5MP camera on the back, with "1X optical zoom" (this sounds fishy)
- * HD video recording
- * 1 GHz Samsung processor
- * 512MB of RAM
- * 8GB of internal memory
- * SIM card slot (if this is true, the Galaxy S Pro is a global smartphone, so it should also have EDGE/HSDPA connectivity)

Other features include FM radio, Bluetooth 3.0 digital compass, WiFi b/n, GPS, 16GB of memory and microSD card slot.
cellphonesignal.com said T-Mobile will launch the Samsung Vibrant / Galaxy S on July 23. We will probably hear some official announcements then.
To confuse you a little more, AT&T will be calling their Galaxy S the Captivate.

This is considered pretty good success for Samsung, even though we all heard by now that Apple had sold more than 1.7 million iPhone 4s in just 3 days. But considering most of the 1.7 million iPhone 4s are from existing ATT customers who went for an upgrade, and that Samsung Galaxy S were only sold in South Korea for that 6 days. I will definitely give Samsung a high five for its launch success.
According to Samsung Hub, Samsung is riding high on the success of Galaxy S, at least in its home market. SK Telecom who is the official carrier of the phone has announced that Galaxy S has surpassed 100,000 units. The sales figure takes into account from its release on June 24 till June 29 i.e. today till 2PM.
As you probably already know, Samsung Galaxy S will be released later this month to all 4 major carriers in the United States, even though each carrier will have a modified version of Galaxy S with it's only fancy names, it still counted as a Galaxy S in my world.

Customers have the choice of sitting down with a Sprint retail associate at the time of purchase or they can schedule an appointment for a later time at www.sprint.com/storelocator.
More Satisfied Than Ever
Offering affordable plans to such feature-rich smartphones like Samsung Intercept is one of many reasons Sprint has excelled in customer satisfaction. Sprint is the most improved company in customer satisfaction, across all industries, over the last two years, according to results from the 2010 American Customer Satisfaction Index.
Sprint's improvement was driven in part by substantial gains in two aspects of the survey. In the area of customers' perceptions of value, Sprint now leads both AT&T and Verizon. The company also achieved an impressive improvement in the area of customer loyalty. With these gains, the company's overall ACSI score jumped 14 points during the last two years. In the last six years of the ACSI survey, no other company has improved its satisfaction score by that many points in a two-year period.
The improvements in the ACSI survey come as Sprint has seen nine consecutive quarters of improved customer satisfaction and first call resolution. The company's improvements have also been recognized by other independent third-parties, including Sprint winning the #1 spot for both overall satisfaction for wireless voice service providers and wireless data service providers in a Yankee Group and Mobile Enterprise magazine survey of large business decision makers. Sprint also ranked high in small and medium business customer satisfaction. Also noteworthy was Sprint's two-year Reputation Pulse(TM) score increase in Reputation Institute's 2010 U.S. Most Reputable Companies Study (published annually in Forbes). Sprint's 18.22 percent gain puts its improvement in the top 10 percent of the 150 largest U.S. companies, ahead of both AT&T and Verizon.
Sprint is also the first national wireless carrier to test, launch and market 4G technology, offering wireless 4G service today for select devices in 36 markets. In 2010, Sprint expects to launch 4G service in multiple markets, including Boston, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. According to the DailyFinance, Samsung Electronics said it has shipped 3 million of its Galaxy S smartphone to the U.S., out of 7 million worldwide.
The models including Samsung Captivate (ATT), Samsung Epic 4G (Sprint), and Samsung Fascinate (Verizon).
Supply of the phones, which run on Google's (GOOG) Android software, has been constrained by the Samsung AMOLED display technology, Chief Marketing Officer Paul Golden told Reuters. The phone went on sale in the U.S. in July.
"We're in a situation where we wish we had more supply," Golden said, who added that Samsung is working to boost AMOLED production.
Sales of the Apple (AAPL) iPhone still dwarf those of the Galaxy S. Apple sold more than 3 million units of its iPhone 4 in three weeks.

Phones 4u has announced that it'll be the first UK retailer to offer the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and has revealed its pricing for the Android 4.0 smartphone, the first smart phone that will offer Ice Cream Sandwish android OS.
But don't go getting too excited, because it looks like chances are you'll must win a small lottery to have the ability to afford it. A free Galaxy Nexus will set you back 46 euros per month on a 2 year contract - dearer that Phone4u's cheapest iPhone 4S tariff. Nonetheless, cough up £29.95 and you'll be granted a a lot-extra cheap - albeit still costly - 24 month £41 contract.
Scott Hooton, Buying and selling Director at Phone4u stated: "The GALAXY Nexus combines the full Google experience with Samsung's superior smartphone performance, and tops it off with the most recent and most innovative Android platform yet. After Android was voted the UK's most most well-liked operating system in a Phones 4u ballot this 12 months, we all know our clients have been just as excited about the launch of the primary Android 4.0Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone as we have."
"We're confident the GALAXY Nexus will more than dwell up to expectations and are pleased to be the first UK unbiased mobile retailer to place the GALAXY Nexus into Android followers' hands."
As soon as released, sooner or later in November, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus may even be obtainable on Three and Vodafone.
On a side note: Clove is currently accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy Nexus, and asks £514.80 (about €588 or $814) for the unlocked 16GB version. Yes, that is a high price, but let's keep in mind that this is likely the best Android handset ever.

Google latest Android version, Ics Cream Sandwich, may be tipped to start out rolling in the market to Samsung Galaxy SII and Galaxy Note models from March 1, mobile industry insider Eldar Murtazin reveals.Murtazin posted a tweet stating that the state update would reveal at the start of next month, finally delivering stable builds of earlier releases which had reportedly leaked from the Korean smartphone giant:

He confirmed that the Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab models would receive official Android 4.0 updates. It said both Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note would receive Frozen goodies Sandwich updates inside the first quarter of 2012, with updates for other smartphone and tablet devices following just after.Rumours also circulated at the end of last year that Samsung was working on delivering an Android "Value Pack" for the Galaxy S, after previously praoclaiming that the Galaxy S and original Galaxy Tab wouldn't support the new firmware. We were holding dealt a blow when the company informed The Next Web there have been no plans for therelease.
Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the discharge date so that it stays firmly as a rumour, but when it is correct then Ice Cream Sandwich is under 3 weeks far from making its way to your handset.

Samsung has reportedly signed a new deal with Blockbuster that may begin to have the company deliver thousands of movies to the Korean electronics giant's Galaxy smartphones and tablets, Blu-ray players and new connected Smart TVs. Smarthouse reports the service will be rolled out around australia, the usa and Europe this season, with American and European customers likely to see the streaming service offered in the first half of 2012.
Blockbuster is Australia's biggest provider of rental movies but has suffered in the usa as Internet-based Netflix and rental kiosk company Redbox have dominated the marketplace. The retailer was forced to close a lot of its stores included in a cost-cutting strategy and was recently acquired by US satellite broadcaster the Dish Network and will launch a fresh streaming service that may underpin the Samsung deal.
Paul Uniacke, CEO of the Franchise Entertainment Group, who supports the rights for the Blockbuster brand around australia asserted the Samsung deal "is a brilliant deal" that will see the service entirely on Samsung's array of televisions, Blu-ray players, mobile devices as well as PCs.
To facilitate the brand new service, Samsung is rumoured to become creating a new global billing platform that will permit users to sign-up and buy new media content, helping the Korean manufacturer extend its range of value-added services to better serve its customers across devices.
Thanks bgr for this update

So, if you own unbranded versions of the Galaxy S II without the subsidy of a network have had a frustrating time, cause Three, Vodafone and O2 network users somehow ended up getting the Android 4.0 update first. And that's not how it usually works.
But now it's time for unbranded models to receive the update, with Samsung UK confired that the Android 4.0 is now out for the "XEU" versions of the Galaxy S II to enjoy. Here's Samsung's statement...
"Samsung UK has been working hard over the last few weeks to get Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) rolled out to all our Galaxy S II customers.So, we can confirm that ‘XEU/sim-free' and all network upgrades are now complete except for Orange and T-Mobile which will follow as soon as possible, pending software testing and approvals. Thanks again for your patience."
It also tell us that it will arrive soon for Orange and T-Mobile users as well.
And world gonna be at peace once again. Until this time next year, when the S III owners gonna be mad about not having Android 5.0. And so the wheel turns, as it ever did.

In what will definitely be disappointing information for Samsung Epic 4G owners on the market, it seems that the earlier rumor of the Android 2.2 Froyo update for stated Sprint Galaxy S phone didn't materialize.
It was mentioned that the Froyo replace shall be arriving on December 26th, but it's nowhere to be seen and reports are in that the replace is "on hold" and can be released "someday within the near future", yes, those hardly encouraging words.
The news of getting Android 2.2 Froyo on Samsung's Galaxy S phones for Sprint has been a disappointing one, and hopefully Samsung and carriers will be capable of solve it quickly, since we're pretty positive that the customers are on the dropping end of this situation.

Both Samsung Supersonic and Motorola Charm are upcoming T-mobile smart phone, the Samsung Supersonic is probably the Samsung Vibrant that was announced a few days ago, it's not a name change, Supersonic is actually a code name according to Tmonews.
The Samsung Vibrant/Supersonic will run you $199 with a 2 years contract. But $449 without a contract, which I think it's pretty fair considering how powerful the handset is.
Tmonews also revealed the price of the upcoming entry phone by Motorola, the so call Motorola Charm, the phone will only run you $79 with a 2 year contract. It's another one of the feature phones that targets teens.

Earlier this week, my less than 90 day old suffered an apparently self-induced meltdown (pics below).
The problem started when the phone started repeatedly making the sound that you make when you plug it in to charge or sync it. The phone was not plugged in at the time.
First I unlocked the phone and found that it seemed to be fully functional, but the repeated tone continued - almost as if there was some type of internal short which caused the phone to think it was being plugging and unplugged over and over. I rebooted the phone, thinking that might resolve the issue. After a few seconds up returning to the lock screen, the repeating tone started again.
I unlocked the phone again and noticed that the battery indicator icon was sort of flickering each time the tone sounded. Hmmm, maybe plugging the phone into the Samsung wall charger will help. Plugging the phone in did stop the repeating tones, but after ~30 seconds I smelled a strong smell that smelled like burning electronics.
I picked up the phone, realized that was where the smell was coming from, and quickly unplugged it. After doing so, I noticed that the USB/charge port in the phone was melted, as was the male end of the Samsung USB cable.

I took the phone to my local AT&T corporate store - they had not seen or were aware of a related issue. Since I've had the phone more than 30 days, I was not eligible for an in-store exchange.
The AT&T rep that I was working with gave me paperwork for the AT&T Device Service Center (DSC) in town, and told me that they'd likely be able to take care of my phone under warranty.
I went to the AT&T DSC and relayed the above story to them. After speaking with a technician, supervisor, and manager I was told that they had no record or service bulletins related to the issue. As a result, they could not warranty my phone. The manager told me that my phone fell into the "damaged phone" category, which is not covered by the warranty.
I argued that the damage which occurred to the phone was not due to my negligence (i.e., dropped it in a toilet, ran over it with my truck, etc) , but because I simply plugged it in. To no avail - my Focus was a "damaged phone which was not eligible for warrantly repair or replacement".
The manager said that I had two options - contact the AT&T warranty department who could "assist" me with a replacement phone, but would charge my account the full, no-contract price or submit an insurance claim with AT&T, pay the deductible, and get a "like-new" replacement phone.
I am currently awaiting a phone call from a supervisor with the AT&T warranty department, who is to contact me within 24-48 hours.
