Styling myTouch 3G is what this is, although i am not really feeling the look and feel, I bet there are tons of fans out there that will pay a lot of money for this.   The phone itself was, alas, not on display at CTIA in San Diego, a phone convention increasingly known for its lack of actual new phones.

HTC has a new firmware update out now for the device, and it considerably speeds up the interface if the multitude of reports to be found on the internet can be believed.

Seeing as this was the number one gripe with the overall excellent UI, the update doesn't really include much else in the way of features, but since it's addressing the main pain point of the phone, we sure don't mind -- and neither will Sprint users, who we suppose will be getting this newly improved interface right out of the gate.

I know we all very much like to see the following:

- Zooming in the web browser and general fluidity

- time it takes to launch common tasks (SMS, E-mail, Calendar...) and navigate between them.

- The camera - 5 MP is good enough, but there's always room for improvement

- just playing around with the apps and try to make it stall. Just to see where the line goes.

Here's the link to download the update

Boy Genius Report was able to obtain some screenshots of upcoming Verizon Wireless Phone Rebate Forums.  And we can see there are obviously some new phones that's coming our way.

First of all, it's the HTC Touch Pro2, the launch of Verizon's HTC Touch Pro2 as September 11th with an extremely competitive price tag of $199.99.

Beyond an appearance by the Touch Pro2 at the very end of the handset list, we also see the Nokia 7705 Twist, which is reportedly launching online on September 13th for $149.99, and then through additional channels the following week.

The original Touch HD - launched late last year - runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. But the phone firm told us that the updated version - to be called, unsurprisingly, the Touch HD 2 - will use Google's Android OS instead.

RegHardware talked it over with HTC and found a few details.

* Touch HD 2 will sport the Android OS, instead of the Windows Mobile Professional 6.1

* The sequel will add 100 more MHz to the processor. Instead of the original 528 MHz Qualcomm, we can expect a 628 MHz.

* No other major changes announced yet; it will likely feature the same 3.8″ touchscreen.
