It's late September and the latest flagship handset in Samsung's arsenal has just started to receive this month's security patch on two carriers in the US. Firmware version N60USQS1ARH6 is making its way onto the Galaxy Note 9 on AT&T and Sprint as you read this, so if you own the device on a contract from any of the two carriers, the update should arrive on your smartphone via OTA any minute now. This news comes in mere hours after users on Verizon started to receive the same update on their versions of the Galaxy Note 9.
In case you are wondering when the unlocked version and the other carrier models are going to get their September patch, we may not have an exact date for you. Nonetheless, expect T-Mobile to follow up soon enough. Unfortunately, if you own an unlocked version, no one can really make any estimates as in the US, unlocked variants get security updates pretty late for some reason!

In a time when the act of personal data handling by companies is under tremendous scrutiny from the government and private parties, Apple has just updated their privacy policy in the iTunes Store in a way that can raise some questions regarding exactly that! Thanks to Venture Beat, who first noticed the update and brought it to public attention, we now know that Apple has decided to collect data regarding how many calls are made and received from your phone, as well as the frequency of your incoming and outgoing emails!
According to Apple, they are going to use the data to "identify and prevent fraud." The "trust score" appointed by Apple to each device will supposedly help them reduce fraudulent accounts, reviews and purchases from the App Store and iTunes. This news comes in as a bit of a shock as Tim Cook went on public in June while mentioning how much they valued privacy and how harmful online data collection and profile building can be down the line. Well, it does look like they are taking the same path, even more aggressively than others in some respect. You can argue that the data collection is for a greater purpose and they will not be stored for too long, but then again, everybody has a reason! We will have to wait and see how this one turns out.

A live picture, a few leaked press renders and a bunch of rumors are suggesting that the next Galaxy A7 will probably sport three cameras on its back and that would be a first from Samsung for sure. However, one of the suggestions in the aforementioned rumors can now be discarded after the latest leaks showed that the A7 (2018) will indeed be sporting just one front camera, instead of two like the rumor had suggested.
If you are baffled and somewhat worried by not seeing the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, don't worry, because that doesn't mean Samsung is doing an Apple and getting rid of the fingerprint scanner altogether! It's just that they have probably decided to put the fingerprint scanner on the A7's side this year. Expect the specifications of the A8 (2018) to be similar to what the A8+ (2018) is featuring, which includes an Exynos 7885 processor, 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Reports indicate that the A7 (2018) will be unveiled on October 11, along with the Galaxy A9 (2018), which will likely sport four cameras on its back!
