Galaxy S6 edge

 

Samsung faced lots of difficulties in the production process of its latest Galaxy S6 Edge which lead to the opening of another edge display factory ahead of schedule, a whole new factory dedicated to produce Curved displays for Samsung devices. The Korean giant is now looking to expand its Edge-screened range.

 

According to a report from the Korean media, Samsung is working on a New Edge device, which will be released before the the Galaxy Note Edge's successor, which also known as Note 5 Edge - Project Zen. So far it has been assumed that the sequel to the company's pioneering curved screen device is set to be announced this fall, alongside a vanilla Galaxy Note 5.

Project Zen is tipped to come with a dual-edge display around the 5.5-inch mark, S Pen and an inferior chipset. Then the inevitable question must be asked, if there will be enough room between it and the Galaxy S6 edge for yet another smartphone with such a screen.

Note 5 Edge

 

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Phablet has appeared today on a web test, as always, Samsung R&D (Research and development) department is doing some routine checking and tests on any new device, including browser and performance benchmarking.

 

A device codenamed "Samsung ZenZero" running Samsung browser 3.2 on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop appeared on HTML5test website. This is the code name allegedly being given to the rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 5 edge. This model will reportedly come with curved glass on both sides of the 5.4-inch or 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen.

Galaxy Note 5 will also be powered exclusively with an Exynos chipset of Sammy's own making. Exynos 7422 is being tested for use on the unit. This chip would go beyond the usual chipset and include the CPU, GPU, RAM, native storage, and a Samsung LTE modem in one single package.

We already heard rumors about the Galaxy Note 5 and got some leaked specs, like UHD display and 4GB Ram. According to new reports from Korea confirms Samsung's plans on the Galaxy Note 5 codenamed "Project Noble" like the Galaxy S6 was codenamed "Project Zero".

However, details lack as to what to expect from the Galaxy Note 4 successor, but we're probably going to see the smartphone being rumored and leaked countless times over the next couple of months, and we'll keep an eye out for more details. Galaxy Note 5 Display

According to the latest reports, Samsung will start manufacturing Ultra HD Super AMOLED display panels with a resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels for Galaxy Note 5. Samsung's Semiconductor and Display Technology leaked road-map workshop last year hinted again at having higher-resolution UHD smartphone displays in the pipeline for late 2015.

 

These panels will use "diamond pixel", a non-standard pixel matrix arrangement that is closer to PenTile, packing a 762ppi pixel density nobody would notice the individual pixels on the screen anyway.

We already reported before that Samsung Mobile has already began mass production of a 20nm 4GB LPDDR4 Mobile DRAM memory chips. Using the 20nm manufacturing process, these LPDDR4 chips will be reportedly 50% faster than the fastest LPDDR3 memory chips on the market and consuming 40% less power (1.1 volts) too.

 

These 4GB Ram chips will be Available by Late 2015 and it's reported that the Galaxy Note 5 will pack the same LPDDR4 4GB Ram chips.

 

 

Galaxy Note 5 Release Date

 

Looking at Samsung's unpacked events date in the past 3 years, we can surely expect the Galaxy Note 5 to launch sometimes during the period between September - October this year [2015]. The Korean giant will held a 2nd episode of it's 2015 Unpacked event for the Note 5 and will probably unveil a New Galaxy Gear VR and Gear Smartwatch.

Samsung Mobile announced that it began the mass production of its latest 20nm 4GB LPDDR4 Mobile DRAM memory chips. Using the 20nm manufacturing process, these LPDDR4 chips will be reportedly 50% faster than the fastest LPDDR3 memory on the market, while also consuming 40% less power (1.1 volts).

 

The 4GB RAM chips will be ready to debut in Smartphones and Tablets by Late 2015. The chances of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 rocking 4GB of RAM is quite high.

The I/O data rate is up to 3,200 megabits per second, a whopping two times faster than the DDR3 DRAM used in PCs. As a result, the the new LPDDR4 RAM can support UHD video recording and playback and continuous shooting of high-resolution images with over 20 megapixels.
