galaxy-j4-core

The Galaxy J4 Core is rumored to be one of Samsung's Android Go phones, and if our predictions are right, then we will be seeing the budget smartphone launched at the Samsung exclusive event on October 11, alongside the Galaxy A9 Pro (2018). A device by the model number SM-J410F recently received certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance, further cementing the rumor.

Although the specs can differ a bit, it is expected that the Galaxy J4 Core will probably be launched with low-end hardware, such as the Exynos 7570 SoC, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The 5.5-inch, 720p Super AMOLED display will probably still be good and just appropriate enough for the 3,000mAh battery. Do keep in mind that all of this is just speculation at best. Now the real question is, will you be buying such a device even in 2018? Let us know in the comments.

Samsung-cryptomining-chips-asic

It wasn't too long ago that mining corporations had made gaming graphics cards super expensive and the rapid, meteoric rise of cryptocurrencies in general, and Bitcoin in particular had left entire nations confused regarding their blockchain policies. While things have calmed down since then, cryptocurrencies are going nowhere and Samsung is all ready to pounce onto the scene with some of their own in-house ASICs, aka application-specific integrated circuits.

Reports have come in to confirm that Samsung will be supplying their mining-specific chips to Squire, a company that manufactures crypto mining rigs in Canada. It is expected that the ASIC chips supplied by Samsung will make the machines much more productive for mining, while cutting down on the huge power requirements that they generally come with. While this makes the deal official, Squire did not declare anything about when they will start using the chips in their products. It would be interesting to see how the ASICs by Samsung fare against the ones manufactured by TSMC; a much more experienced company in the field.

To be honest, the Galaxy S10 is nearly half a year away from being unveiled at this point, but that's from the consumer's point of view. As far as the manufacturer, aka Samsung is concerned, they already have the plans set into motion. On that note, here are some of the popular rumors to keep you interested till something more solid comes up.

Three Models?

Samsung has so far managed to stay away from Apple's decision to get rid of the headphone jack and fingerprint scanner, not to mention Samsung's much applauded decision to avoid the widely adopted notch design. Nevertheless, popular leakster and tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is of the opinion that Samsung will follow Apple and release three (5.8", 6.1" and 6.4") Galaxy S10 smartphones next year.

In-Display Fingerprint Scanner

An in-display fingerprint scanner at the front of the display is expected to be onboard the two premium models of the Galaxy S10, but not the comparatively cheaper model of the three.

Piezoelectric Earpiece?

We saw it years ago on the Mi Mix first but now the Vivo Nex has it too. A piezoelectric system allows the entire phone's body to be used for listening to voice calls or to be used as a speaker. The Galaxy S10 could also have the technology in 2019.

Three or Four Rear Cameras

If the upcoming Galaxy A9 Pro comes out with four rear cameras like it is expected to, then it would be safe to assume that even the cheapest Galaxy S10 will have at least three or even four rear cameras.

If you thought that the recently launched Galaxy A7 (2018) with three rear cameras wasn't quite enough, rumor has it that Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy A9 (2018) with four rear cameras on October 11, 2018. The event on October 11 has been highlighted by Samsung with a subtle hint to this fact, which states "4x fun." It could also mean something else, but at this point, all rumors seem to be pointing towards the fact that the smartphone will have four rear cameras. If this does turn out to be true, Samsung will be the first manufacturer in the world to have a quad rear camera smartphone. The camera specs are expected to be 24-mp primary sensor + 8-mp wide angle sensor + 5-mp and 10-mp zooming lenses.

It would actually be quite interesting to see if the extra cameras are able to beat the dual camera modules on the flagship range handsets like the ones on the Galaxy Note 9 and the S9 Plus. If the specifications are true though, I would be surprised if the upcoming Galaxy A9 (2018) with four cameras doesn't beat the current-gen flagship handsets.

A live picture, a few leaked press renders and a bunch of rumors are suggesting that the next Galaxy A7 will probably sport three cameras on its back and that would be a first from Samsung for sure. However, one of the suggestions in the aforementioned rumors can now be discarded after the latest leaks showed that the A7 (2018) will indeed be sporting just one front camera, instead of two like the rumor had suggested.

If you are baffled and somewhat worried by not seeing the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, don't worry, because that doesn't mean Samsung is doing an Apple and getting rid of the fingerprint scanner altogether! It's just that they have probably decided to put the fingerprint scanner on the A7's side this year. Expect the specifications of the A8 (2018) to be similar to what the A8+ (2018) is featuring, which includes an Exynos 7885 processor, 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Reports indicate that the A7 (2018) will be unveiled on October 11, along with the Galaxy A9 (2018), which will likely sport four cameras on its back!
