The iPhone 8 and the Galaxy Note 8 are on top of every smartphone rumor list these days and for good reason too; these two are the biggest smartphones that will hit the stores in the second half of the year and it's only natural for their rumors to be everywhere. Today we have the Galaxy Note 8 in our sights and although this particular leak doesn't really have any accompanying images to support its claims, it comes from the famous leakster Roland Quandt on Twitter.

He is claiming that he has inside info about the upcoming Galaxy Note 8's colors and according to that information, it will come in three colors (at least initially). The colors are Midnight Black, Orchid Grey and Deep Blue. It is to be noted that the "Deep Blue" variant will likely be different from the Cobalt Blue color we saw introduced with the Galaxy Note 7 last year. Read the tweet below.

"Samsung Galaxy Note 8 coming in Black, Orchid Grey and a new Deep Blue. At least."

Samsung may also release other colors in different regions, just as hinted by Quandt, but whether or not they will all be launched simultaneously on August 23rd, remains to be seen.

We have seen the Galaxy Note 8 in leaks and renders quite a few times now and in spite of our hate for the seemingly larger top and bottom bezels on the upcoming device, it seems like that's just something that we will have to live with... Or, you could just buy the Galaxy S8+, provided of course you can live without the stylus.

In today's render, we have the smartphone (and those bezels!) confirmed from every angle. Do take a look at these renders and tell us what you think in the comments section. Although we say "confirmed," these are obviously not official and are brought to you by the case maker Ghostek. Nevertheless, these are probably as close to the real thing as is possible at the moment and I am pretty sure that when it is unveiled officially next month, this is what we are going to see, more or less.

In all the confusion and excitement that comes with the Galaxy Note 8 leaks, what we almost forget at times is the very fact for which it's called a "Note." Yes, we are talking about the stylus here today and thanks to SlashLeaks, we are getting our first look at the S-Pen. Before reading anymore, take a good look at the pictures here and decide if you think that this is the real deal.

Do you think it is indeed the S-Pen from the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 or does it look way too much like the one that came with the Galaxy Note 7? Well to be honest I can't really tell, given that the pictures have deliberately been blurred. Yes I said deliberately because I refuse to believe that someone with access to a Galaxy Note 8's stylus did not have access to a camera that could click a decently focused photograph in what clearly is a well-lit environment! Even then, this live image would not have been so suspicious had it not been for the fact that the S-Pen is more likely to be redesigned this year to accommodate the significant changes on the Galaxy Note 8's physical structure.

If there's something even the greatest critique of Samsung will admit, then that would be the fact that the Korean company simply makes the best display panels in the mobile industry. In fact its display department is so strong that it is literally making billions from the competition (read Apple) by selling them their OLED panels! In a recent news post by The Investor, Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi is about to become another OLED customer for Samsung Display. This doesn't really come as surprise given the monopoly that Samsung holds in the mobile OLED panel manufacturing industry.

If the report is true then the Xiaomi Mi 7 will feature a 6.01-inch OLED panel supplied by Samsung, but whether or not it will be a QHD display is something that is unclear at this time. The shipment order at the moment stands at 3.2 (1 million in the first month, followed by the rest in the next) million units approximately, which should start reaching Xiaomi's manufacturing units by December 2017 -January 2018. This agreement is reportedly a result of the deal between Xiaomi and LG for 5.49-inch OLED panels breaking due to operational delays on LG's part.

If the latest report by The Bell is to be believed then Samsung has already placed orders for next year's flagship panels with their display division; Samsung Display. In addition to the 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch QHD+ panels for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, The Bell reports that 6.3-inch QHD+ panels are also going into production in the future for the Galaxy Note 9! Of course, it's just a rumor at this point, but this does mean a couple of things if it turns out to be true. Firstly, we are not going to see a 4K display like the one on the Xperia XZ Premium on any Samsung smartphone in the near future and secondly, Samsung is sticking with the 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

Additionally, the report also states that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will feature the elusive fingerprint scanner which is not even going to make it onto the iPhone 8 this year. It would be interesting to see how much of this actually turns out to be true, although it's going to be a long wait from now for things to become more obvious.
