Latest News - / Samsung - Posts

Let's get something out of the way first; Samsung is not struggling by any means as it posted the highest profits ever this quarter, in spite of all the bad mojo that had been following them for a while now. In fact, even in its mobile department, Samsung is leading in all sectors in terms of sales figures across the world. Having said all that, it looks like Samsung's current premier handset is falling behind in sales numbers, as compared to the previous generation Galaxy S7.

Things didn't start off like that though as the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus broke all records as far as pre-orders were concerned. Now that the initial hype is over, reports are coming in with news that the Galaxy S8 is actually falling behind its predecessor in terms of sales now. According to The Bell, 9.8 million Galaxy S8/S8 Plus handsets have been sold in the two months following release; unfortunately, that number is roughly 20% lesser than the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge's 12 million sales figure within the same span of time last year. We will have to wait and see if the sales pick up again.

The Galaxy Note 7 Fan Editions are a huge success in South Korea as all retailers are reporting that they are being sold out like hotcakes over there (No puns intended)! Only 4000,000 units had been made available so far and as far as previous reports were concerned, that was going to be the extent of it. In a somewhat predictable turn of events, latest reports are suggesting that the Note 7 FE could also be making their way into other nations on account of the excellent response at home.

Whether you will be getting to buy one in the Unites States or not is uncertain at this point of time but latest reports are suggesting that Samsung may just launch the Note 7 FE in select markets across the world. While the roughly $605 price tag is somewhat steep for a smartphone that's rocking a chip from 2016 and has such an infamous history, people don't seem to be too concerned with that at this point of time! If it came to your country, would you be buying one or would you be saving up for the Galaxy Note 8?

Now that we know how the iPhone 8 or 7S will look, it's time to concentrate on the Galaxy Note 8; Samsung's upcoming stylus wielding handset which could be showcased next month. Famous YouTube channel and concept maker, who is aptly named as Concept Creator, brings to us this stunning 3D video of the Galaxy Note 8 that you see here today. While it's only based on rumors and leaks at this point of time, I don't think it would be a stretch to state that this is how the actual device will look like when it comes out, more or less!

The question is, would you be buying one of these for the exorbitant $1,100+ price tag (as stated by Evan Blass) at which Samsung will likely be selling these in most regions outside South Korea? Keep in mind that even in its home country, the Galaxy Note 8 will not be retailing at a price below $1,000+! Let us know what you think about the concept in the comments below.

The Galaxy Note 7 FE or "Fan Edition" is now officially on sale and if you wanted to own one last year, you can do so now a year later! Of course, you will need to be in South Korea to buy one in the first place. If you are a fan of the device and would like to import one into the US, I am not sure if that's even allowed at this point of time. While the handset should now legally be allowed on flights, I am not entirely sure how airport authorities will feel about importing a Galaxy Note 7 on an aircraft. Nevertheless, it's here in Korea in all its glory for us to gawk at.

With almost identical specs, the Galaxy Note 7 FE looks and feels exactly like it did last year and that's to be expected, given that the only change is the battery being shrunk down to 3,200mAh. The combination of the QHD Super AMOLED display, Exynos 8890 SoC, 4GB of RAM and the S-Pen makes the Galaxy Note 7 still a great smartphone to buy. In fact, at the reduced price of only KRW 699,600 ($606 roughly), it's a very good deal for the ones who don't mind the chip from last year. Only 400,000 units of the handset will be sold in the country and they will be exclusive to three local telecom carriers.

The title of this article is probably one of the most searched keywords in the world right now and there's good reason for it. While it is impossible to compare the two without stretching this article well beyond its limits, it is possible to tell you all about the most significant things that matter more than the others.

In short, the Galaxy S8's 12-mp rear shooter is a better camera and that's just something you have to deal with if you are an OnePlus fan. That is not to say that the 16-mp + 20-mp camera can't stand up to Samsung's single 12-mp sensor in broad daylight, because it can in most cases. However, when the lights dim down, the S8 mops the floor with the OnePlus 5 on account of better image processing, excellent OIS and an overall better sensor. The front camera is neck and neck though, but the higher (16-mp) resolution on the OnePlus 5 might just give you a bit of an edge but that's only when you zoom in. Also, the Samsung selfie shooter has a wider angle lens which enables you to include more people in your group selfies.
