There is just something about large screen TV sets that the world loves and there's no denying it, but would you spend $15,000 on one? Well, that's the price you will have to pay if you want to buy the 85" Samsung Q900R QLED 8K TV that the company just unveiled. There will also be lower-priced options available at the 65", 72" and 75" categories, but the prices for the smaller TVs has not yet been confirmed by Samsung. Keep in mind that this is only the base price for the US, and if you live in India or any other country with exorbitant "luxury taxes" and import fees, you are probably looking at a much higher price tag for sure!

The Q900R will be capable of advanced HDR because the peak brightness level goes up as high as 4,000 nits (which is pretty insane)! The Samsung AI-powered software is all set to upscale the source images to 8K according to the announcement and that's where the real question pops in; what will you watch on your new super expensive 8K TV that will justify the price you just paid for it? 4K is not even a universal standard yet, so rest assured that aside from enthusiast grade content, you will likely have nothing to make use of those pixels. Given that 8K has four times as many pixels as 4K and 16 times the pixel count of full HD content, it would be fair to say that you will need an insanely fast internet connection, supported by ungodly amounts of data consumption allowance to stream 8K content, even if you find it anywhere!
