The HTC 10 was recently announced by Verizon and they were the first carrier in the US to do so. However, Sprint has just joined in the action with more details about the phone and a clear release date. The Sprint version of the HTC 10 will be available from May 13 on contract and at zero down payment. There will only be a monthly charge of $26 for two years (24 months) as per the contract. Sprint also added that the highly acclaimed smartphone will be using their LTE Plus network for superfast internet speeds. Verizon will still be the first carrier in America to start selling the HTC 10 via pre-orders accepted only through their online store.

The HTC 10 was received very well around the world by techies and the excellent reviews have created quite a bit of demand for the handset in USA as well. If you are not particularly familiar with HTC's flagship smartphone for 2016, you might find them to be quite impressive. Chamfered edges and a metal body hide the powerhouse Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC within, while the front hosts a 5.2" Super LCD 5 display (1440p) at 565 ppi. There is also 4GB of RAM onboard which seems to have become a standard for all flagship devices this year. HTC has significantly slimmed down HTC Sense 8.0 this year and as a result, the experience feels almost the same as stock Android 6.0.1, albeit with a few added features. There are also the famous front-firing HTC BoomSound speakers and a built-in fingerprint scanner inside the Home button.

Fortunately, most Android smartphone manufacturers went back to the drawing board and gave their smartphones an expandable memory card slot. This holds true for the HTC 10 as well, so you can now increase your phone's storage by an additional 200GB. You will of course get an internal memory of 32-GB to begin with. The 12-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, f/1.8 aperture and dual-tone LED flash was highlighted by HTC as one of the best features of the smartphone. Not to be outdone, the selfie cam is a 5-megapixel ½.3" sensor with 1.55µm pixel size. The 3,000 mAh battery supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 and once fully charged, is reported to provide the user with 27 hours of talk time, along with a standby time of 456 hours.

Evan Blass created quite a stir among LG fans when he "revealed" certain details for the upcoming LG flagship. The man behind @evleaks on Tweeter declared that the LG G5 will sport a full metal body to match the premium feel offered by most of its rivals in the industry. According to him, the G5 will also have a secondary display with a resolution of 160×1040. The second panel, hailed as a "ticker" display will function in more or less the same way as it does on the LG V10. If Blass' sources are right, then the ticker display will become a typical LG signature for all its mid to high range smartphones in 2016.

There are other stipulations that were specified in the leak and we will get to them, but what intrigued us most was the"Magic slot." It seems that the LG G5 will feature a certain port that will enable the smartphone to connect with and detect both advanced gadgets like a 360 degree Virtual reality camera as well as basic hardware devices like a keyboard. If you are wondering whether it also has micro SD card expansion capabilities to complement the magic slot, you will have to keep wondering for a while longer as it was not mentioned.

Other leaked specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 3GB RAM and at least 32GB of in-built storage under the hood. On the camera front, the 16 megapixel shooter with laser autofocus and RGB sensor will probably be the same one seen in the LG V10. The G5 will supposedly have a fingerprint scanner on the back rather than being embedded in the Home button. All of this will be powered by a removable 2800mAh battery, which is surprising after considering that the G4 has a 3000mAh battery. Although the slightly smaller 5.3 inch Quad HD display will probably consume less power as well.

Before you start taking these speculations too seriously, take our advice and refrain from believing too much into the "leak." While some of the features mentioned will surely make their way into the final version, the rest may not.

We already saw the Hands-on video of the Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop 5.0.1 update. However, Samsung didn't release the update yet on any region, even the old Galaxy Note 3 got its official Lollipop update in some regions...

 

Where's the Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop Update ?

 

Well, it turns out that Samsung delayed the Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop 5.0.1 update due to compatibility issues with Samsung Gear VR. Samsung needs to make sure that the Gear VR will work well on the Note 4 Lollipop ROM, so far the Galaxy Note 4 ROM is still in the hands of Oculus VR who are tweaking the kernel to ensure its compatibility with the Samsung Gear VR.

 

Samsung Gear VR is Samsung's current take on virtual reality headset based on the popular Oculus Rift. While compatibility issues might explain the delay the question still stands why this can't be achieved in a later update. It looks like Gear VR is very important to Samsung that it delayed the full Lollipop roll-out for it.
