OnePlus' intention was clear from the very fast Nord phone. They wanted to introduce a new line of more affordable range of products. As it turns out, the next series of nord phones will be available in the market within a few weeks. A prominent leaker on Twitter claims that the N10 and N100 could both be launched before the end of october. There isn't much information on N100 but there are a few leaks surface often related to Nord N10, which seems to be a slightly less powerful version of Nord to be sold in the US.

 

The N10 will feature a Snapdragon 690 processing chip with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone will also feature a 64-megapixel primary camera and a 6.49-inch full HD+ display screen. If rumors are correct, it will be priced somewhere around $400. As for the N100, the price might go slightly up. The reports suggest that the OnePlus Nord N10 will feature a 90Hz display refresh rate. The smartphone is also tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 690 SoC, which is the first processor from Qualcomm's 600 series to feature 5G connectivity.

 

According to the report, the OnePlus Nord N10 and N100 are going to be launched in the United States and in some selected countries because the Snapdragon 765G powered OnePlus Nord didn't make its way to the US market at the time of launch. Right now we don't have much information about the colors or design of the upcoming OnePlus. However, we would like to keep you informed in the near future as we are expecting the release of the phone by the end of this month.

While rumors and leaks are nothing new to the tech world, here are a few rumors we have gathered up. So far, Apple has held its launch event in the second week of September and normally on a Tuesday. This year, we were expecting the launch event to be held on 8 September but as we are going through the unprecedented times of pandemic, Apple had to break its own pattern and launched the iPhone 12 on October 14. If the company decided to stick to its old pattern, the iPhone 13 event will likely take place on 7 September.

 

With the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max launched this year, we will likely have iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max next year. With the iPhone 12 series offering an OLED display, it is likely to repeat the display for iPhone 13 models. There were reports of a higher refresh rate for the iPhone 13 models with Pro Max having up to 120Hz refresh rate. Some rumors suggest an in-display fingerprint sensor for the iPhone 13 models.

 

There aren't any rumors about the camera specs but as always, the iPhone will get better and improved camera sensors for the iPhone 13. There is a good reason to predict that the upcoming iPhone series will offer the 5G network support and these probably run on an A15 processing chip and iOS 15 software. Several reports suggest that iPhone 13 would have a smaller notch, yet all the Face ID sensors will be present in the notch area. Another rumor says that Apple filed a patent for a notch-free phone but it will raise concerns for users who are keen to keep their Face ID options.

Although, it's been only a few months since the iPhone 12 came on the market. Apple is already working to release its next flagship smartphone - the iPhone 13. It is expecting to include four different models - the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. But when can we expect Apple to release its next phone?

 

Apple hasn't said anything on the release date, but based on Apple's release history, we can predict when the company will launch the iPhone 13 series. While the pandemic has caused some uncertainty, tech companies adopt virtual events instead of keeping delaying the release. We can expect to get a first look at the iPhone 13 at an event somewhere in September. It is too early to suggest that whether this launch event will be conducted online or have some physical presence.

 

A few years ago, CNET came up with a compiled Labor Day hypothesis. Based on the 2021 calendar, the Labor day rule would put the September Apple event and the unveiling of the iPhone 13 on September 8 with a September 17 release date. We don't know if this true, until Apple announces an event, and shows off the phone.

 

iPhone 13 is rumored to have a 120Hz always-on display that could make it easier to check the time and notifications. The always-on feature is similar to existing Android phones. Users can see the clock, battery charge percentage, and notifications as they arrive. It is expected that the 120Hz refresh rate might be limited to the iPhone 13 Pro variants.

 

So far, there isn't anything on a design change for the upcoming iPhone 13. Another leak suggests that the phone will be using MagSafe magnets which attach the device to the charger and other accessories and have a stronger bond than usual. Apple hasn't confirmed any of these details, so we have to wait for more leaks and news on this matter.

The return of Nokia into the international market is probably the biggest or at least the most popular theme in the upcoming MWC 2017. Everyone knows that HMD has already launched the Nokia D6 with overwhelming success in China, but we are now more interested about the devices that the company is going to unveil for the international market in a few days.

Rumor has it that the D6 could have an international launch at the MWC, but the spotlight is more focused on the upcoming Nokia P1 and the Nokia 8. There's also the possibility of seeing the iconic Nokia N and E series smartphones making a comeback. However, when it comes to return of an icon, nothing can really match the hype that has been built up ever since it became known that the Nokia 3310 is coming back! Additionally, China may also get a Nokia 3 and a Nokia 5 to compete in the low-end section of the Chinese market. All of the handsets will be running on Android Nougat 7.0 or higher straight out of the box.

As expected, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will only be offered by AT&T, as it was with the Galaxy S6 Active in 2015. A new leak has unveiled this information to us along with more. The S7 Active will weigh in at a heavier 185g with a measurement of 9.9mm in thickness. Other changes include a much larger 4,000 mAh battery and of course, the tougher build we have come to associate with Samsung's Active series.

The differences more or less end there as this is virtually the same phone, albeit with a few enhancements. You will find the same SD 820 SoC, 5.1-inch 1440p AMOLED panel, 4GB RAM and identical front and back cameras with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 running it all like a boss.
If you are wondering how come we are almost sure about the release date then the answer is simply, rumors. Rumors throughout the last year or so have been dead on and since all leaks regarding the S7 Active point towards a June 10 release date, we are putting our chips on that date. As far as we know, the S7 Active won't be available anywhere else other than the US, at least not for the moment.

Although there have been some speculations that Samsung won't be continuing its Note line-up this year around, we did hear from the Korean electronics giant a while back that the Note 8 is indeed coming. Provided that Samsung hasn't changed its decision since then, here are a few features that we can expect to see on the next Galaxy Note smartphone.

The dual-curved display

At this point, it is quite likely that all Samsung flagship smartphones will feature the dual-curved Edge displays, which debuted with the Galaxy S6 Edge back in 2015. Of course, the one on the Note 8 will come with more functionality to support the stylus.

Iris scanner for security

Another one of the features that debuted with the Note 7, the iris scanner is sure to make its way onto the next Note. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see it on the Galaxy S8 either.

Water-resistance

There is no doubt that the Note 8 is going to be water-resistant with at least an IP68 certification, if not with something even more advanced. Given that Samsung had figured out how to make the Note 7 water-resistant in spite of accommodating a vulnerable spot for nestling the S-Pen, there is no reason to think that they won't implement an improved version of the same on their next Note smartphone.

Keep in mind that the name "Note 8" may not be the actual name of the product this year as Samsung could opt for something else to steer clear of the bad reputation that the Note 7 has tainted them with. Also, there's already an old Samsung tablet with the same name present in the market.

@OnLeaks and 91Moiiles have collaborated in bringing this Galaxy Note 8 leak to you, which looks significantly different from what one would expect the Galaxy Note 8 to look like when it's actually launched in August. In fact, these renders are even quite different from what the previous leaks had shown us as well. Whether or not that's good news, it is for you to decide. While there's no confirmation that these leaks are authentic, OnLeaks and 91Mobiles are without a doubt, pretty reliable leaksters.

If you have not yet figured out what I am rambling about, then let me point it out to you; it's the top bezel. The design of the render shows the Galaxy Note 8 to sport a significantly bigger bezel on top than the Galaxy Note 8. It sounds almost unbelievable that Samsung would move away from the S8's bezel-less design which earned them so much praise this year. In fact, it suspiciously resembles the Galaxy Note 7 in many ways. Other design elements are more or less what's to be expected. There's the dual camera, with an awkwardly placed fingerprint scanner right beside the camera module, the 3.5mm headphone jack, the USB Type-C port, the mono speaker outlet, the front camera, the iris scanner, the heart rate sensor and the other usual stuff.

Google released the Pixel 4a in early August, and we are happy to see the follow-up to one of our favorite mid-range smartphones of all time. The phone was quickly followed up by the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5, completing this year's round by the company. But now we have to ask ourselves what's so great about the phone? It's too early to predict what Google's next affordable smartphone will be but we have a surface of rumors to have a clear idea. The Google Pixel 5a release date hasn't been confirmed yet and we are not sure when it's going to be released, which is a little strange for big brands. But as we are going through the unpredictable times of the coronavirus pandemic, we have to understand the uncertainty being created in the world of technology.

 

Google Pixel 4a was announced at Google IO 2020 keynote on May 2, but the event was canceled due to a pandemic. We didn't hear anything about the new phone for a few months. A few months passed, and we had some rumored release dates until Google finally decided to launch the phone and quickly released it in August 2020. If things stay normal, we could expect the Google Pixel 5a release next year around Google IO 2021. The phone is the first mid-range smartphone in the series, and it was released at $399. The Pixel 4a were even less expensive. The price for the device could be higher, especially if 5G support is provided in the device, and we expect the upcoming Pixel 4a 5G to be slightly more expensive.

 

The rumors suggest that the upcoming Pixel 5 would feature a large 6.0-inch display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. For protection, it will be using Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and stay always-on display. The phone comes with the Android 11 operating system out of the box and powered by the Qualcomm SDM765 Snapdragon 765G processing chip. The CPU is octa-core with Adreno 620. The device features a primary 12.2MP wide-angle lens and 16MP ultra-wide angle lens. The phone has an LED flash for low-light situations, auto-HDR, and panorama features. The video has 4K at 30fps and 60fps. The front-facing camera is 8 MP with auto-HDR features. You can shoot at videos at 1080p@30fps. The phone also has Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth, and type-c 3.1 USB. For security, it uses a fingerprint at the rear side. The phone is powered by a Li-Po 4080 mAh non-removable battery.

Oppo just officially announced the date for the launch of Oppo Find X2. The phone will be launching at Mobile world congress 2020, a few days before the event will start officially. We also learned the Find X2 is going to feature a new Sony-developed camera sensor, which also houses Sony's latest 2x2 on-chip lens solution, enabling high-speed autofocus, high-resolution, high-sensitivity, and high dynamic range. Its predecessor was a great success in terms of sales figures and one of the most beautiful phones you can find in the market. But strangely, the company was silent about launching the Find X2.

Oppo happened to release the Reno series along with the Find X2 that kind of overshadowed the success of Find X. Everyone in the tech industry was thinking that the Oppo Reno series would take over the other lines. We have seen a few iterations of that device since the original phone was launched back in April of last year, and the Find series seemed to get lost somewhere in the background. But according to the Android Authority, a new Find phone is coming and it's already an interesting phone to invest in.

The device is arriving in the first quarter of this year. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, and new flagship Sony sensor. The main focus of the device is its screen quality. At the snapdragon tech summit last week, an oppo representative confirmed that a new snapdragon 865-powered device is coming and now we know that device is Oppo Find X2. This will enable the phone to get access to some of the brand new features like two-gigapixel processing, 25 percent faster performance, and much more.

The new sensors being uses used in the device can use every pixel as a phase detection pixel, meaning it can detect phase differences in both the X and Y directions. Also, it should be much easier for the focus to work on the edge of the frame, as older sensors were only able to use the center portion to calculate focus. The last year's model was one of the phone devices to hide the selfie-camera through a pop-up design, which was appreciated among the consumers.

In about a month's time, one of 2018's biggest consumer electronics events is going to start from January 9 and last till January 12 and it's about time that we took a look at some of the most expected appearances at the show.

Google

Smack dab in the middle of the venue, Google has already booked a huge booth for the show. While a lot of experts are of the opinion that the Pixel 2, Pixel XL, Daydream View, Google Home and the Google Home Mini will be on display here, there's a chance that the search engine giant may also showcase the newly launched PixelBook. It's basically going to be a place to show off "Made by Google" hardware.

Samsung

Aside from a 150-inch Home LED Display, a new series of MicroLED TVs and an updated range of QLED TVs, the Korean tech giant is also expected to launch a teaser trailer of the Galaxy S9 and S9+. Other rumors regarding the company's possible showcases include a few new smartwatches and a foldable smartphone, aka the Galaxy X.

LG (January 8 at 08:00 PT/16:00 GMT)

To keep Samsung on its toes, LG will likely drawing the curtains off its new range of 4K OLED TVs, which will most probably be the B8, C8, G8 and the W8. A new range of mid-range smartphones will also make their appearances at the show, but we are not sure about the LG G7 yet.

Lenovo (January 9 at 11:00 PT/07:00 GMT)

We don't know what else the company is bringing to the table, but a standalone Daydream VR headset is almost surely going to be there.

Sony (January 8 at 17:00 PT/01:00 GMT on January 9)

A new range of Bravia 4K OLED TVs and 4K HDR projectors are on the cards at this invite-only get-together by Sony.

Dell

The Dell XPS 13 2017 Edition is going to make its official debut at the CES 2018 and it looks to be one very beautiful, thin and classy laptop.

With the iPhone 7 due to be released in September 2016, speculation continues to mount over its new features. While some have suggested that demand for the new model will be low due to lack of innovation, the figures from Business Insider show that ‘demand for the iPhone 7 is healthy'. While Apple has yet to settle on the finished design, we can be pretty sure of a few things...

What's likely to be different?

Headphone jack

One of the major talking points over the last year has been the lack of a headphone socket. This will mean that headphones will connect to the phone via Bluetooth or through its Lightning port. This caused uproar in some circles last year yet insiders have said that a 3.5mm adaptor will be included in the box.

Camera

Rumours surrounding the new camera include the use of dual lenses and enhanced performance in low-light conditions. It is also expected to be upgraded from 8 megapixels to 12 megapixels.

Antenna bands, earpiece cut-outs and light sensor

The antenna bands across the back of the device have reportedly been removed. Meanwhile the earpiece cut-outs are now longer and the ambient light sensor has been moved; presumably as a means to improving performance in low light.

Storage Space

The latest inside news is that Apple will be favouring the 32GB storage option in their most basic model - if true, this seemingly puts an end to the 16GB predecessors that may now struggle given the recent development in app quality.

In fact, a 256GB version, the first of its kind on the iOS platform, has been suggested by technology specialists TrendForce. Perhaps overkill, the space will certainly allow for multiple high-graphic options such as the notorious Disney Infinity 3.0 at 2.26GB.

Combined with the essential movie archive, personal music discography or just your favourite iGaming apps, the iPhone 7 isn't likely to struggle. Indeed, catching the latest Pokémon or playing online bingo directly on your phone should be a breeze come its release later this year.

Processors

Experts expect the iPhone 7 to use next-generation A10 processors from TSMC. In terms of internal storage, entry-level handsets will start at 32GB instead of 16GB.

Size

The new model is expected to be 1mm thinner than the iPhone 6, but at 5.5 inches it will be the same size as the 6s. Apple may indeed be wary of making the product thinner due to the negative press they received over the iPhone 6 in 2014. There were several reports of the inerrant ‘bend problem' which the manufacturer will be keen to quash in its new product.

Name

There are some rumours that Apple will dispense with numerical ordering and refer to the new model as the iPhone Pro. However, others dispute this.

Home Button

Some photos have emerged of the models without the home button; a staple on every single model so far. The suggestion is that Apple will drop the physical button in favour of an onscreen key. Other images suggest that this rumour is false.

What will stay the same?

Two models

Apple plans to continue releasing two models. Some sources suggest that these will be called the iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Plus; others say they will named simply iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Casing

All rumours suggest the iPhone 7 will look very similar to the iPhone 6, with only minor aesthetic changes.

Screens

Apple plans to stick to the 4.7" and 5.5" screens it uses on the current flagship models. The lower-level model (iPhone 7 or iPhone Pro) will have the smaller screen as standard. The flagship model (iPhone 7 Pro Plus or iPhone 7 Plus) will come with the bigger screen as standard.

If you are even remotely interested about Apple and its products, then you probably already know that the company is going to reveal the next iPhones on September 12. However, that's not going to be all that the Cupertino giant will reveal, as you will see next.

The New iPhones

There will be three iPhones this year and none of them will have a Home button or a fingerprint scanner, just like the current gen iPhone X doesn't. The Next iPad Pro

The next iPad Pro will be launched in the same 12.9" model, but a newer 11-inch model might just replace the 10.5-inch form factor this year. Aside from updated internals, it is expected that the new iPad Pro will not have the Home button either, giving us the first bezel-less tablet!

Affordable MacBook

A new MacBook Air with a cheaper price tag might be headed towards us this year, but we will have to see where Apple decides to cut corners to keep the price down.

Mac Mini Pro?

An affordable Mac without a display and a small form factor is what the Mac Mini has been so far, but this year, Apple is rumored to add more juice to the mini computers for professional users.

New Apple Watch

The Apple Watch Series 4 will definitely be coming with the latest iPhones and there will probably be two variants this year. Both the variants will sport bigger displays and higher resolution for better visibility thankfully. They will also be shipped with the new WatchOS 5.

Those are the main attractions at the show of course, but rumor also has it that the previously announced AirPower wireless charging pad with the capability of charging three Apple devices (Apple Watch, iPhone ad AirPods) simultaneously will also be unveiled at the show, along with a charging case for the AirPods. We will find out how much of these rumors are true in just three days' time.

Apple has finally announced the date for the Apple event - which is oct 13. Unlike other years, Apple events are going to be completely online and you can watch it on Apple Tv or Apple's official YouTube channel. If rumors are true, we will see a new 6.7-inch display screen size, a rapidly fast A14 Bionic chip, and 5G. Some rumors suggest that the prices of Apple 12 might be slightly less than its predecessor.

 

One of the biggest rumors around the internet is that the device will be available in more than one size. There will be possibly 2 base models at 6.1-inches and the largest iPhone 12 pro max at 6.7-inches. This allows Apple to offer a wide array of prices, and variations on the specs depending on the user's budget. There will be an affordable iPhone mini with a price tag as little as $649 with 64GB of internal storage which is at least $50 less than the regular iPhone 11's price. Offering an affordable smartphone to compete in the budget category seems like a smart move by the company.

 

In total we are expecting four new models this year. Two regular models and two pro models. Current rumors suggest the series to have iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 pro, and iPhone 12 pro max. With the possible addition of 5G connectivity support, Apple is moving the entire series to the OLED display. The October 13 event is called the ‘Hi speed' event. Pre-orders are assumed to be start on oct 16, whereas the shipments for regular models start from Oct 23 whereas the pro models will be launching up to a month later. There are also rumors of Apple using the Face ID sensor array in the smaller housing.

It's still too early to predict much about Android O, but reports are coming in to suggest a few of its features nevertheless. Let's take a look at what they are talking about.

"Copy Less"

The alleged "Copy Less" feature will make sure that the user has to do less copy pasting while trying to share info from one app, via another. It would be hard to explain how exactly it will work until we have more information, but it has been hinted that the text which you want to copy paste will be suggested automatically. It could be a part of the new OS as a whole or just the Gboard keyboard.

Gesture Features

Drawing alphabets on a locked screen to initiate apps is not something that's new to Android users as most third party manufacturers have lock screen gesture shortcuts in-built on their phones. However, Google will reportedly integrate the feature inherrently in Android O. Draw a C on the screen to bring up your contacts or a V to turn on the flashlight for example.

More Functionality in Text

It could be so that the OS (or just the keyboard app) will recognize when someone sends you a text with an address in it. Tapping on that address will open Google Maps and maybe will even show you the location in-app. The functionality will not be limited to addresses and Google Map of course.

While many smartphone OEMs around the world has not yet managed to roll out the Android Oreo update, Google has already taken the lid of Android P, aka the next Android OS. While there's still a lot more to know and things might change, here are the top five things that you should know about the upcoming OS version.

Boosted Privacy

Privacy is going to receive a boost on the following fronts.

·         Sensors, cameras, and microphones will no longer be allowed access to any app once it becomes idle

·         Backup encryption with a client-side secret and per-network randomization of MAC addresses

·         Better accommodation of the fingerprint scanning tech as Android P will allow each app to access the fingerprint data in much more detail than before

Support for the iPhone Notch

Creating an UI around the new "notch" introduced to the world by the iPhone X last year is still a tricky affair as the current gen OS versions are not that well fitted to accommodate it. Android P is going to introduce APIs that will better support the notch and apps will finally be designed to work with the notch in mind. This also confirms the fact that we are soon going to see alot of Android smartphones with the notch, or what I affectionately call, "ears!" Frankly, it's riduclous to take that route for multiple reasons, but the OEMs clearly see a market for it.

Wi-Fi Round-Trip-Time (RTT)

Wi-Fi Round-Trip-Time is going to make even turn-by-turn indoor navigation a possibility, because apps will now be programmed to sense how far your device is from the source of the connected Wi-Fi and guide you through the indoor facility accordingly!

Improved Notifications

With every iteration of the Android OS comes the promise of "improved notification system" and this year, you will likely see a lot of conversations right on the notification bar itself, including stickers, smilies and even attached images. Android P may allow for replying to those messages right from the notification bar itself.

There's also going to be better support for multiple camera modules this year, but we will have to wait and see how the "better" part will work, given that most flagships are already using dual camera setups quite efficiently!
