OnePlus used an untraditional platform to announce a feature pack of its next device. Usually, phone manufacturers use Twitter to share news, leaks, or updates about their mobile phones or products. But recently OnePlus uploaded a new teaser on Instagram. The new revelation comes just before a few days of the launch of the next OnePlus phone. As per the Instagram post, OnePlus Nord will come with preloaded with Google's Duo, Messages, and phone apps. The company has already revealed that the OnePlus Nord uses an Android-based Oxygen OS. Some of its key specs have already been leaked or confirmed previously. The company called it a flagship killer phone as it will notably the most affordable phone by the company.

 

As per the teaser video posted on Instagram, the OnePlus Nord has to offer the smoothest experience possible due to these integrated Google apps. Some of the other phones including the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are using the proprietary alternatives to Google apps and come with the company's software used for dialer and SMS messaging instead. The latest flagships, however, seems to stick with the default options to offer an improved user experience.

 

The OnePlus Nord will be running OxygenOS, which is known for providing an almost bloatware-free, Android-like experience. With the default Google apps, the OnePlus Nord will be able to offer rich communication services functionality to users. In another video on Instagram, OnePlus has highlighted that the OnePlus Nord would have a tough build that would resist drop, shock, and water. The phone will, however, not come with an Ingress Protection (IP) certification, as confirmed by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei in an interview with YouTuber Marques Brownlee (MKBHD).

 

The recent teasers have also highlighted the earlier rumors that the OnePlus Nord will feature a quad-camera system at the rear side, with a 48-megapixel primary camera that also comes with optical image stabilization. The phone features a 90Hz AMOLED display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC. The device will be powered by a reasonably huge 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. For the front camera, you get a 32-megapixel primary sensor. The OnePlus Nord launch is scheduled for 7:30 pm IST on Tuesday. Alongside the new smartphone, OnePlus is launching its first truly wireless (TWS) earbuds that are called the OnePlus Buds.

Google has decided to suspend its license to Android operating system to Huawei. Trump administration's action has started to impact Chinese smartphone makers Huawei already. Google has decided to stop licensing its Android OS to Chinese Telecommunication Company, in order to comply with U.S trade blacklist rules. The company however can continue to use open-source version of Android but won't be able to get the security and OS updates, along with usage restrictions on Google's apps like Gmail, Play store etc.

The move will have significant effect on millions of Huawei users and the company's global ambitions. Android operating system powers more than 80% of the world's smartphones. Huawei said they will continue to support existing customers. But if this problem isn't solved, the device will not have access to new version of Android OS called Q. "The revocation of its Android license will mean that it won't be able to provide core Google services to its smartphones," Richardson said.

"The current devices will continue to support Google services and Google updates," Francisco Jeronimo, associate vice president for European devices at IDC, told CNBC by telephone. "I think it's more of a long-term impact than very short term." In China, the story is a different. Consumers there have a limited version of the OS which doesn't come with the pre-installed Google's app like Gmail etc. For Chinese consumers, the impact is almost NILL. Many people suggest that U.S and China will reach a trade deal, and Google will resume its licensing to Huawei. In that case, things will come back to normal. However, if it is a long-term impact, the sales of Huawei will drop as well as its resale value. There won't be any consumers outside the Chinese if this situation continues.

An officer in Mountain View, California noticed a prototype vehicle travelling in a 35 mph zone at a speed of 24 mph resulting in traffic congestion. "As he approached the vehicle he realized that it was Google's self-driving car" said a post by the police department. The officer also contacted the operator to learn about the steps followed by the vehicle for choosing speed depending on roadways and make the operator vigilant about impeding traffic.

Google's self-driving car project gave response on the official Google+ page and clarified that they have put a limit to the maximum speed (i.e. 25 mph) for safety reasons. The company said most of these stops occur owing to growing curiosity of people and their desire to get a closer look. They want people to perceive the car as friendly and approachable, rather than intimidating by making them zoom scarily through neighbourhood streets. Google also said that their vehicles have driven 1.2 million miles for testing without getting a ticket. Well, that's quite an achievement and also human equivalent of 90 years of driving experience.

There is a huge market for these cars. According to a study done by IHS Automotive in January, it is expected that close to 250,000 self-driven cars would be sold each year globally by 2025.

Google has released a free Motion Stills app that allows any Android phone with a built-in gyroscope that runs Android 5.1 or higher access to the latest augmented reality technology. How Does the App Work?

For months, tech blogs and even Google itself have leaked so many pictures and videos about the Pixel 4 that it became the most-leaked phone ever. In the process, Google tried to hype the consumer's excitement ahead of its launch alongside other new hardware products at an event being conducted in New York on Tuesday. But the company has already fallen for another tap itself: what else can Google say if no one knows it already?

Here is what we already know about Pixel four. The Pixel is expected to have two rear cameras for one. There are already many smartphones in the market but still, one short of the iPhone 11 has 3 rear-camera. The cameras will be featured in the top-left side of the phone into a square-like fixture, closely resemble to Apple's new smartphone design.

The phone is expected to come in standard and XL sizes, with a soli radar chip to enable more secure facial recognition and air gestures, which has already shown in the YouTube video. According to the leaks, Pixel 4 is available in the orange color that was featured in a giant billboard placed in Times Square promoting the launch event. At the time, when companies are launching foldable devices, Google appears to stick to the simple design. To stay competitive in the market, Google has to deliver an experience that is better than other phones. The company has already less than 1% of the global share of the market.

The pixel is largely a niche product, only available in the US, exclusively on Verizon. Customers can buy an unlocked version from Google or another retail store. The Pixel 3 cost around $799 whereas the new iPhone 11 starts at $699. The pixel will run on Google's latest Android operating system. Beyond the Pixel, Google is expected to show off a 13.3-inch touchscreen laptop called the Pixelbook Go, a Google Watch and an update to its Nest Mini speaker system. Pixel Buds, its answer to Apple's AirPods, will also likely get a refresh, with longer-lasting battery life and a mute feature that automatically turns on when someone else is talking.

Google's updated a lot of Android apps recently, so why not Web-based Play Store. The Google Play Store Web version is receiving a slight redesign. The roll-out seems to be gradual, but more and more people are reporting seeing the new Play Store on the Web.

 

While the changes are not over the top, it reminds me quite a lot of the old YouTube look. Instead of related apps being placed all the way at the bottom of the webpage, they have been moved to the right of the screen, allowing for quicker exploration throughout the store's offerings.

 

Other than the updated look for listing pages, all navigation appears to be untouched. And while it does not scream Material Design, it feels rather smooth and responsive.
