Introduction

The DRmare M4V Converter for Windows is a one stop solution for all the iTunes users out there who are tired of having limited control over using the iTunes content they already paid for. It's completely legal and the process that this particular M4V Converter for Windows uses to remove the DRM from all your iTunes content is the most advanced one in use today. Stay with us as we take a closer look at the software and try to find out what makes it so special and popular for millions of Apple and Windows users out there.

30x Faster than Others

Even if you judge the DRmare M4V Converter only as a DRM removal software, its quality is unmatched for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the speed at which the software does the job. It's actually 30x faster than most of the other similar DRM M4V Converter for Windows that are available. If you have a Sci-Fi movie which you paid for on iTunes but would like to see on the giant drawing room TV, you don't really have to wait long anymore if you use the DRmare converter. Have an entire season of your favorite TV show that you need to remove Apple's DRM from? Don't worry because this DRM removal program also supports batch conversion.

Lossless DRM Removal

Unfortunately, with any other DRM removal tool out there, you will likely lose a significant bit of quality during the process. The good news is that the DRmare DRM removal for Windows tool has no such adverse effects on your iTunes Media. Moreover, you can also choose to keep the original M4V format that's native to all iTunes content or convert the M4V files into MP4 files without any loss in quality whatsoever. The best part is that whether it's in M4V or MP4 file format, you will now be able to play it on all devices such as smartphones, gaming consoles, video players, smart TVs and of course, Windows computers.

Keep the Audio Quality and Formats

Everything from AC3 5.1 Dolby audio tracks to subtitle files in the original DRM-protected video file remains untouched post conversion. This includes other audio files, formats and details such as AAC stereo tracks, AD, CC, etc. as well. This applies to videos of all standard and high definition resolutions (480p, 720p and 1080p videos).

Conclusion

After checking out all the features and testing them out individually, we think that this is probably the best DRM removal software and DRM M4V Converter available today. You don't even have to take our word for it, because you can try out the trial version of the M4V Converter for Windows today and decide for yourself before making an actual purchase.

If you own an older Microsoft smartphone that is still running on Windows 8.1, things are about to change as a Windows 10 update for your smartphone is probably on the way already. This is not beta, but a fully fledged final version of the upgrade that has been in the making for months. Although Microsoft has officially started rolling it out to its smartphones around the world, not all phones will be receiving the update at the same time. Also note that if your Windows phone was not manufactured by Microsoft (or Nokia) but some other company, there will be an additional delay.

Check if your phone is in the list mentioned below:

  • Lumia 435
  • Lumia 430
  • Lumia 638 1GB
  • Lumia 636 1GB
  • Lumia 635 1GB
  • Lumia 540
  • Lumia 535
  • Lumia 532
  • Lumia 830
  • Lumia 735
  • Lumia 730
  • Lumia 640XL
  • Lumia 640
  • Lumia 930
  • Lumia 1520
  • BLU Win HD w510u
  • BLU Win HD LTE x150q
  • MCJ Madosma Q501

If you found your model in the list above, then go to the Windows Store and download the application called Microsoft's Update Advisor. Use it to find out if your update is on the way and turn on the option Enable Windows 10 Upgrade. Select Next and it will prompt something like ready to upgrade. Once you see that prompt, tap on Done to finish the setup. You can now go to Settings>Phone Update>Check for Updates to see if the upgrade has arrived yet. When it does actually arrive, you will see the notification automatically now.

Microsoft has finally unveiled the Lumia 650 and officially confirmed the launch of the smartphone after several rumours about it surfaced in the last few months.

It will come with a 5-inch 720p screen, but contrary to the predecessor Lumia 550, the 650 boasts an AMOLED display panel. Microsoft is super excited and they have gone ahead to name it as their most beautiful screen ever at this time.

This Windows 10 device will be backed by the Snapdragon 212 SoC without Continuum, and its quad-core Cortex-A7 processor will be clocked at 1.3GHZ - the unique thing in comparison to the S210 in the Lumia 550. It's packed with 1GB of RAM and the 16 gig internal storage could be expanded by microSD. The primary snapper will be of 8MP (type 1/4 inch sensor, 28mm equiv. focal length, f/2.2 aperture), while the front camera will have 5MP sensor with f/2.2 lens.

There are wide range of connectivity options - multi-band 2G/3G/4G, and LTE with Cat 4 (150Mbps down, 50Mbps up). It also has Bluetooth v4.1, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou. There will also be a dual-SIM variant of the device. Radio listeners can surely enjoy the FM Radio.

The Lumia 650 features solid aluminum body, replaceable back covers and comes with two color options - black and white. It weighs 122g and dimension wise it quite sleek (142 x 70.9 x 6.9mm). Its 2,000mAh battery can be replaced by the users..

From February 18th, this device will be available in some of the European markets and cost around $199 before taxes or subsidies (US dollar pricing announcement in Europe is surprising though).

Spartan browser

Reports suggests that Microsoft is working on a New Internet Browser for Windows 10, Moving from the good-old bad-old Internet Explorer to the new Microsoft Spartan Browser. The New "Spartan" browser is still in-development. Today though there are a couple of new leaked images doing the rounds, and these two show us a very different design for Spartan.

spartan

The actual leaked images are the first two below. Underneath you can see a mockup based on them, which is supposedly a near 1:1 replica of the browser's UI.

Thankfully this time around Spartan looks a lot more modern, yet it still manages to be quite minimalistic. The browser clearly looks more like Chrome and Firefox than IE, and not many will say that's a bad thing. Next to the star for bookmarking purposes lies a "reading mode" button which strips out the text and makes whichever page you're on more readable (this is similar to Safari's Reader Mode).

Spartan

The share icon lets you easily send a link to the current website through social networks or by email, and the three dots on the right are there to open up the settings, as you may have guessed. Spartan's window is borderless, allowing content to stretch from edge to edge. All of the UI elements are at the top.

Microsoft

It's a little weird but Microsoft is working on a new friend tracking feature in an upcoming app People Sense for the Windows Phone devices and is internally referred as "Buddy Aware".

With this app, Windows Phone owners will be able to share their location in real time with their friends and family. The location sharing will also offer step-by-step navigation to the contacts. Quick shortcut for instant messaging, voice calls, and support integration with other third party apps will be anchored inside it. In a way, calling and messaging would be possible right inside, without having to switch between apps.

buddy aware

People Sense app is quite similar to Find My Friends app for iPhone and many others on the Android platform. In fact, Google had a similar implementation named as Google Latitude which was discontinued in August,2013.

It may not have been the longest life, it may not have even been the most significant life, but after almost seven years on the market the Windows Phone is officially about to die. There will be some who mourn its death, there will be others who barely bat an eyelid. The Windows Phone is due to be phased out from late June and the end of the fiscal year, with now the best time to look back at its relatively short life.

From Birth to Death

Microsoft arrived on the mobile scene relatively late, despite making developments into the market from the early 2000s. However, it wasn't until November 2010 when the Windows Phone 7 was finally launched in the USA and went on sale to the general public. Given the success of Apple's iPhone in the preceding years and Samsung's Galaxy devices, the Windows Phone was introduced to rival but also enjoy success of the back of theirs.

In 2011 things looked up when Microsoft partnered with Nokia, announcing that Windows Phone would become the main smartphone operating system for Nokia. This gave them more devices to increase the competition with Android and iOS. In total there were three versions of the Windows Phone released before it switched to the now final Windows 10 Mobile.

What Happened?

Essentially, the Windows Phone failed to sell anywhere near as many devices as its competitors, before revenue from the phone dropped drastically. In total, Microsoft and Nokia sold 110 million Windows Phones. Across the same period 4.5 billion iOS and Android devices were bought. The difference in numbers is staggering and makes it clear how far off they were from their dream of challenging, let alone beating, those rivals.

There was a brief period in 2015 when it looked like a decent competitor, but with sales falling and revenue dropping by $730 million from one quarter, it was dead. So much so that Microsoft CFO Amy Hood even commented that: "there was no material phone revenue this quarter."

Are Microsoft Worried?

Not really. Microsoft is a massive company and the end of the Windows Phone won't be damaging its shares for traders using brokers that much. It operates in many different fields and the Windows Phone was nowhere near its main product. Plus, it's unlikely to do much damage to the brand's image, with plenty of other pieces of technology and software in its roster. Cloud services for businesses, laptops, tablets and many others in its product range ensure Microsoft's shareholders won't be losing too much sleep over the Windows Phone's death.

Future for Surface

One area the Windows Phone's decline could impact is for the Surface product division. Many thought that a Surface phone may take over, as Surface Phone has been patented, but given the death of the Windows Phone that appears less likely now. Instead, the future of its products such as the Surface Pro are now a little less certain. Lessons may be learnt from this experience, but whether that sees Surface devices phased out or improved remains to be seen.

The Windows Phone started out with all the best intentions of challenging the dominant iOS and Android smartphones, but in the end it just couldn't compete.

Microsoft's Windows operating system is the most used operating system in the world as of January 2019, according to the figures presented by Netmarketshare. Statcounter echoes this result, and in the data released last May 2019, the Windows operating system holds a 38.9% global market share, besting six other operating systems and showing a consistent increase in market shares worldwide.

Deemed at the top of the tier in their respective niches, it is inevitable that some Microsoft products and services, their Windows operating system, in particular, may encounter errors and issues. These errors range from minor system glitches to major operational failures. As they say, omnipresence does not necessarily correspond to superiority.

But users do not easily give up on windows and shift to another operating system. Windows, by far, offers an intuitive interface that no other operating system can match. It provides a seamless platform where a wide range of programs can run smoothly and efficiently. The benefits outmatch the inconveniences that users remain loyal to Windows operating system.

Here are the four most common errors users encounter in the course of using the Windows operating system.

The Blue Screen of Death

Aptly named because the screen turns blue when this error is displayed, the Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) is the most well-known Windows error of all. Popularly referred to as the Blue Screen or Stop Error, it happens when Windows encounters a problem it cannot fix. To avoid further damage to its operating system, Windows shuts down.

Blue Screen is an infamous Windows error. Users have nothing to worry about if it happens once. There will be instances when Windows will encounter a weird glitch, and then just hit a blue screen. The odd glitch never happens again, and this is fine.

Blue Screen of Death is highly concerning and fatal when it occurs repeatedly. It signifies that there are severe hardware or software problems on your personal computer. This type of error leads to data loss, drive corruption, and critical damages to system files and hardware. To protect itself, Windows automatically shifts to the blue screen and prevent further harm to its software and hardware.

DLL Errors

The Dynamic Link Library (DLL) is a record of shared files that many programs use to perform specific tasks and activities. A DLL is built into Windows so that every type of software does not need to create its own way of performing a task or activity. For instance, whenever you print a test page, easily click Print Test Page, and even if you are using different printer software, the default Windows method will be launched to perform this task.

There are cases when a DLL error appears after launching a program. It usually goes like this: The program can't start because DEF.dll is missing from your computer. You can try to reinstall the software or program to fix the problem. When you see this error message, do not panic. Also, do not rush to download the specific missing DLL file even if this is the general rule of thumb. It usually leads to more problems because some questionable sites can slip malware into the DLL files.

Api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll missing error is a common DLL error. It occurs when your Windows is missing the Visual C + + for Visual Studio 2015. Fortunately, Api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll missing error is very easy to fix. Here are easy steps to fix it.

Windows Update Error 0x80070057

The windows update error 0x80070057 is an error code famous among experienced Windows operating system users. It began in Windows XP and has continuously appeared in all succeeding windows operating systems. This error happens when the Windows Update repeatedly encounters problems, or when Windows Update altogether declines to install new updates.

Windows Update is always highly anticipated, and a lot clamors to be the first to install and use the new features. Negative feedbacks arise when errors occur. Luckily, a lot of simple and easy to follow procedures are offered to fix this problem.

Security Certificate Errors

windows-errors-solutions-2

Security Certificates keep you safely and securely connected to various websites. Norton or GoDaddy are examples of third-party Certificate Authorities that issue valid certificates to website owners that use secure HTTPS connections.

Your browser has a list of trusted legal Certificate Authorities. Every time you visit a secure website, its certificates should match the one your browser expects. Otherwise, a security certificate error will appear and tell you that the website may not be safe.

There are instances when this error is legitimate. It may be that the owner did not renew the certificate and the expiry prompted your browser that something is off. Perhaps an attacker jeopardized the website, and the certificates do not match so your browser prompts you it is not safe in that site. Caution should always be employed when dealing with visiting these sites.

You will encounter various hardware and software errors while using the Windows Operating System. They are annoying and frustrating, but fixes are available to solve these errors. Knowing that these errors can occur any time, always ensure that you have backed up your files. Stay secure and stay ten steps ahead of these errors.

Google Chrome

Here's the official Chrome 37.0.2062.94 changelog provided by Google:

  • DirectWrite support on Windows for improved font rendering.
  • A number of new apps/extension APIs.
  • Lots of under the hood changes for stability and performance.

The biggest change in this release is only for Windows users: support for Microsoft's DirectWrite, a text layout rendering API that first arrived in Windows Vista, has finally been implemented. The question of improving how text appears in the browser on Windows was first brought up in the Chromium bug tracker back in October 2009 but Google only confirmed in June 2014 that it would be enabled by default in Chrome Canary 37.

Chrome

Until now, Chrome used the Graphics Device Interface (GDI), which dates back to the mid-80s and the lower-resolution monitors of the time, to render text. Google says the switch "required extensive re-architecture and streamlining of Chrome's font rendering engine."

google talk

Google will be deprecating the Google Talk application for Windows. Google stopped allowing people to download the app long time ago but you can still continue using it, that is, until February 25,th.

Google already has a replacement in the form of Hangouts, which has been around for over a year now, and includes a lot more features, such as group messaging, audio and video calls, and emoji support.

If, however, you use Google Talk on a third party application, such as Pidgin, to access Google Talk, you can continue to use it for now, as only the Windows desktop app of Google Talk is being deprecated for now. However, it is still recommended to switch over to Hangouts for all the additional functionality you are getting.

Although it's not often that we hear about Windows malware affecting Android apps, apparently, it is happening to 132 applications which were available on the Play Store. According to Palo Alto Networks security firm, all of these apps have Indonesian developers. Having said that, they also assured that in spite of the apps originating from the same geographical area, the developers are most likely not connected with each other. In fact, it is very likely that the developers are not even aware of the malware and were being victimized themselves.

The malicious code within the applications are in the form of HTML documents hidden inside other HTML documents; hailed as "tiny hidden IFrames." These documents are responsible for linking out to established harmful domains from inside the applications. If you are wondering what harm these could cause, Palo Alto explains that the malware can be used to, "modify the app's internal logic, i.e., adding rooting utility, declaring additional permissions, or dropping malicious APK file, to escalate their capabilities."

The good news is that Google has already removed these potentially harmful apps from the Play Store now.

* End-to-End encryption (E2EE):

- End-to-End encryption for all SMS, app notifications, contact data, account credentials and other sensitive data. * Notification Mirror

- Get real-time alert of phone notifications from any apps.

- Silence individual or all app notifications.

* Redesigned Android interface:

- The Android interface is redesigned to make it more intuitive, and also feels more "Android", less iOS.

* AirDroid Web:

- The update for AirDroid Web is mostly about bug fixes and stability improvements. AirDroid Web is still as important as Windows and Mac, and we'll continue to invest heavily on it, but in AirDroid 3, we put more resources in creating the all new desktop clients.

Cyanogen

Cyanogen's employee Adnan Begovic dropped quite the bomb over the Seattle Coderush dev event. He claims today Cyanogen has over 50 million users, which is more than Windows Mobile and BlackBerry combined.

And let me stop you before you start digging evidences and reports that this is not true. He is absolutely right, at least technically.

Cyanogen OS

Windows Mobile is the key here the OS is the predecessor of Windows Phone and very few people are still using it today. The golden era of the Windows Mobile has been long over and only few users are still using their WM phones. Most of them probably use the notorious HTC HD2 and may even not run WM, but that's for another topic.

There is a chance Adnan Begovic meant Windows Phone instead of Windows Mobile. This means someone at Cyanogen was too keen to brag before making any proper calculations. Windows Phone had 50 million active users by the end of 2013 as per AdDuplex report, which means 20 months later those should be a lot more. And we are sure BlackBerry users are enough to tip the scales even if the Microsoft platform has been standing still.

Windows 95

How powerful a Smart Watch really is ? Well, we can now answer this question... It's powerful enough to run an Operating System.

Samsung Gear Live can boot Microsoft Windows 95. A user managed to install this classic desktop OS on his Android Wear smartwatch.

The successful port of Windows 95 was performed using aDosBox. The latter is an emulator that allows the x86 operational system to run on Android devices. Watch the Video below to see it in action.

pornhub

This might be a bit weird, PornHub tracked the number of pages per visit. Now, you can read whatever you want into these numbers, but it turns out that Windows Phone users average 10.27 pages looked at during an average, uh, sitting. That compares to the 9.06 pages that Android users look at, and the 9.63 pages on average that BlackBerry users look at. For iOS users, the average is 9.78 PornHub pages viewed at one time. It would appear that Windows Phone users might take a bit longer than users of the other platforms, to complete their journey.

windows phone

On the other, er, hand, the average time of each visit gives us some new information to ponder. BlackBerry users spend the most time per session at 11 minutes, 53 seconds. There is more than two minute difference between that figure, and the 9 minutes, 17 seconds that the average Windows Phone user spends on the site. We could point out that BlackBerry users are older, executive types. Perhaps they need the extra two minutes to reach their objective. The shortest amount of time spent on PornHub belongs to iOS users at 8 minutes and 53 seconds.

windows phone os

So what platforms are visiting PornHub the most? Based on global traffic, 48.34% of visitors to PornHub are taking the trip on Android. 40.60% are using iOS. 2.3% of global visitors to the site are using Windows Phone when they arrive at the site. While 1.81% are employing a BlackBerry when visiting PornHub, 1.18% are using a Samsung mobile device.

The screenshots show a refreshed user interface with some new, flat iconography, alongside the long awaited return of the classic Start menu. Windows 9 can run with just 1GB of RAM, which means that Microsoft has done some serious under the hood work to optimize the OS.

Codenamed Threshold, Windows 9 is anticipated to bring some new features as well. One of them is the highly anticipated option to add a bunch of workspaces. Akin to Linux, those workspaces can hold different applications and make switching between different working environments a breeze.

Windows 9

Finally it's official, Microsoft has just sent out invited to the Windows 9 announcement Press event. It will be hold in San Francisco on September,30th which is not a very far date. Microsoft upcoming announcement will also focus on enterprise. The company's executives Joe Belfiore and Terry Myerson will talk about the future of Microsoft Windows.

The invitation clearly said "Join us to hear about what's next for Windows and enterprise". Release of a Windows 9 Technical Preview is all but certain.

The increasing number of leaked screenshots and videos also points in this direction. Check out the latest leaked Screenshots of Windows 9 Here.

Samsung Windows 10

Samsung released some Windows 8.1 tablets under the Ativ brand, Now as Microsoft released the Windows 10. Samsung is said to be working on a 12-inch Ativ Tab running Windows 10 out-of-the-box. It will apparently come with a Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 14nm Intel Core M processor, 4GB of RAM, and the S-Pen. It should be just 6.2mm thick and will weigh 600g.

The screen's resolution isn't mentioned, but there's no reason to expect anything other than a high density panel (HDI). So perhaps 2,560x1,600 or 3,840x2,400 are good options to consider.

This is nothing but a singular unconfirmed report at this point, so keep that in mind and take all of it with a pinch of salt for now. If Samsung really is working on this device, then a lot more leaks about it are surely headed our way.

Windows 9

A public "Tech Preview" of the next version of Windows, Windows 9 codenamed "Threshold", could apparently land as soon as next month, according to certain unnamed sources. This version will almost certainly end up being called Windows 9 when it's going to be released in spring 2015.

Windows 9 has recently been rumored to introduce a few interesting new features, most of which are actually fixes to the niggles many have had with Windows 8 and its radical two-faced approach to computing. Long story short: using Windows with a mouse and keyboard is about to become a lot less of a hassle.

Windows 9

So, the Modern (aka Metro) apps are due to get windowing support, the elusive Charms bar will be gone forever, there will be a new "mini" Start Menu, and Microsoft may also bake in virtual desktops. Additionally, we may see Cortana make an appearance outside of the confines of Windows Phone.

VIA

Windows 10

Microsoft decided to skip the number 9 entirely and name Windows 10 as the successor to Windows 8.1. The new OS version will unsurprisingly come with the features that have been rumored for the next Windows iteration over the past few months.

On the PC side, Windows 10 seems to be all about convincing those who are still sticking with Windows 7 to finally upgrade.

Windows 10

So the Start Menu is back, though with a distinct "Metro" vibe. It has tiles and icons that are a blend of classic and new universal apps. Tiles can be re-sized. The new Search feature in the Start Menu pulls results from the Web as well as local content.

Windows 10

Users of Windows with mice and keyboards are finally taken seriously again, with the dual-environment feel of Windows 8 now totally gone. Modern (metro) apps can run in windowed mode. Hence, Snap View now works with both types of apps, and it's even been expanded to allow for a maximum of four apps to be on the screen at the same time.

Windows 10

Microsoft has today released the January update for Windows 10 Technical Preview. This can now be downloaded from the dedicated site, and you can even get an ISO file if you so wish. The January build comes with many new features, and probably the most important new things inside of it are Cortana and the new Xbox app.

While the latter doesn't yet support streaming games from an Xbox One to a PC, it does let you view friends activity, post to timeline, and view game DVR videos. And there's an important caveat to note about Microsoft's personal assistant, namely that it's currently available in US English only. As you may expect, it does sync to Windows Phone.

Windows 10

The new Action Center has replaced the Charms bar, and it houses notifications, quick action keys, and settings. The People, Outlook, Photos, and Maps apps have been updated. A new "smart snap" mode is in, which shows you a list of running apps when you snap another app, assuming that you'd want to snap an additional one after that.

Windows 10

Continuum lets you switch between tablet and PC mode with one click/tap. For the Surface Pro 3, the switch should automatically be employed when you attach or remove its keyboard.

win 10 linux

For a lot of people Windows 10 sounds like the a dream come true. The net installment of the popular OS promises universal apps across all hardware platforms and versions and perhaps even more exciting compatibility with every Windows Phone 8 handset out there.

Things looked even better after the US tech giant announced its plans to captivate the Chinese market by offering legal upgrades to both genuine and non-genuine Windows installs. Another piece of the Windows 10 puzzle has surfaces today, courtesy of a leaked China presentation and it could potentially show a slightly darker aspect of the upcoming OS.

win 10

The information has to do with "Secure Boot" the feature that once enabled, prevents unauthorized installation of other operating systems on the device. It has been around for quite some time, but, unlike with previous Windows versions, where Microsoft has allowed and in some cases even required OEM's to make the setting user-adjustable, Windows 10 will be a lot stricter on the matter.

With the new OS, Microsoft will no longer prevent OEM's from permanently enabling "Secure Boot" on their personal computers, which could potentially mean that a lot of new laptops and even some OEM desktop builds might not allow users to install anything but the Windows 10, supplied by the manufacturer. This, of course means no dual booting, no Linux, no Hackintosh, basically no actual freedom to exploit the hardware you own and have paid for.

And while the decision of whether or not to lock "Secure Boot" on a PC is entirely up to OEM's and could shift either way, things are really looking bad for Windows 10 on mobile devices. Microsoft will reportedly mandate all manufacturers, producing Windows powered phones, tablets and similar mobile tech to have "Fast Boot" permanently enabled. This could be a major hindrance to the software modding and developer community and once again, kind of locks you out from the hardware you legally own.

Windows 10.1

While PC users are waiting for the Microsoft Windows 10 release, new information comes from Russian leaker WZor, who has already provided us with plenty of accurate details about Windows 10, but everyone should still take it with a pinch of salt until Microsoft actually confirms the roadmap for its operating system.

Microsoft Windows 10.1

With Windows 10, Microsoft will finally give up on shipping stand-alone releases for Windows in favor of rolling yearly releases, so the company will switch to a continuous update model that would bring improvements and new features to users at a faster pace.

The naming system for Windows will also be changed, so the upcoming update due in 2016 is expected to be called Windows 10.1, according to WZor. It's not yet clear if Windows 10.1 is actually the official name of the Redstone update we first heard about earlier this year, but there's no doubt that 2016 will bring us a major update for Windows 10.

If this plan goes through, Microsoft might ship a big update for Windows 10 every year, so Windows 10.2 could see daylight in 2017, followed by Windows 10.3 in 2018, and 10.4 in 2019.

Windows 10

Windows 10 may arrive earlier than expected. Previous info had us marking July,29th on our calendars, but Microsoft is testing candidate builds for both computers and phones. Now, Microsoft may go through a number of candidates before ironing out all issues, but the builds currently in testing reportedly look promising.

They are undergoing the review process and a decision should be made soon. There was an impression that Windows 10 Mobile, the smartphone version, will launch later than its computer twin, but now it sounds like both versions are going hand in hand.

The Mobile version has been available as a Technical Preview since mid-February. Since then it has become clear that all WP8-running Lumia phones (and non-Lumia ones) will get Windows 10 though those with 512MB RAM will have some limitations.

windows 10

Finally, Microsoft latest Windows 10 is officially Here. The Win 10 upgrade is available for all Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 users who reserved an update before.

Windows 10

The upgrade is already available in 190 countries, but it's a staged rollout so it might not get automatically downloaded to your machine yet. However, there is a little trick you could do to force the update.

In order to get the update Notice, follow these steps:
1. Run Windows Update, and make sure you are set to receive updates automatically.
2. Navigate to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and delete everything inside.
3. Run a command prompt in administrator mode and type wuauclt.exe /updatenow.

Win 10 upgrade

Among the biggest novelties in Windows 10 are Microsoft's new Edge browser, multiple desktop environments, a unified notification center and tight integration of Skype, Microsoft Office and Cortana into the system. The quirky assistant now has a new home on the PC and promises to become a close and personal buddy of yours across all of your devices. Bear in mind, however, that Cortana won't be initially available in all regions, so you might have to wait a bit to get acquainted.

Microsoft has officially released the Windows 10 as an update to Windows 7/8/8.1 users worldwide only two days ago.

In these two days, Windows 10 has already been installed more than 14 million times, its maker has revealed. And this was achieved in just the first 24 hours of availability. That's no small feat for such an incredibly short period of time.

Obviously, the great distribution was also helped tremendously by the fact that Microsoft is giving away the update to Windows 10 for free for those who have Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

It has become official news that the latest flagship ARM chips by Qualcomm will be powering a new range of Windows 10 PCs by the end of this year. However, Microsoft themselves may not be the ones to introduce them to the market, as was previously believed.

A new report suggests that Lenovo is also trying to bring forth its own range of SD 835-powered Windows 10 PCs and it may just beat Microsoft to it. However, there is no guarantee either that Microsoft won't be the one to reach the market first with their new series of Surface laptops. From the point of view of the customer though, it's always good to have more options, so we are not exactly complaining!

If you are interested in these upcoming laptops, know that they will be quite affordable as expected. However, the ARM-powered PCs will actually run on a cloud based Windows 10 OS, instead of a local installation like computers powered by Intel or AMD chips.

ddos windows attack 2015

Few days ago, Microsoft released a patch for a critical remote code execution vulnerability, CVE-2015-1635 (MS15-034). Now, it has been spotted being exploited in the wild by researchers at the SANS Institute.

"Denial of Service (DoS) exploits are widely available to exploit CVE-2015-1635, a vulnerability in HTTP.sys, affecting Internet Information Server (IIS)," noted Johannes Ullrich, Chief Technology Officer of the SANS Internet Storm Center. The vulnerability affects Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2.

According to UK research firm Netcraft, over 70 million websites hosted on around 900,000 servers could be vulnerable. "Due to the ease with which this vulnerability can be exploited, we recommend that you expedite patching this vulnerability" - Ullrich said.
