To protect my beloved LG Dare, I purchased a silicon case, very similar to the one shown above. The only major difference between my case, and the one shown, is my particular case has a silicon layer covering the front hard buttons.  I purchased this case from my local VZW store, for a hefty price of $22. Although expensive, the case does a fine job of keeping my Dare safe from bumps and drops. It was very easy to slip my Dare into, and it adds some extra grip to prevent a potentialy "deadly" drop.  I have a few quirks with this case. At $22, it was not cheap. For a case of this quality, I expected a cheaper price tag. Another peeve I have with this product is the silicon has a tendency to "grab" onto your pants, making it difficult to pull out o... Approximately 252 homes are in a trial run this month with a brand new Google Entertainment Device which very well may be the project thus far known as Android@Home. This project has been tipped by the FCC where a collection of pre-run devices have been approved for testing, each of them working with Wi-fi and/or Bluetooth to connect the home. This filing was made this December and is only popping up now, Google making no official word on it because it is a big secret but chances are, it is the Android@Home Hub. The FCC filing itself has a tiny bit of information on what the project will contain, FCC says: "Google is developing an entertainment device that requires testing outside the laboratory environment. The device is in the prototyping phase and will be modified prior to fin... Read more

Technology is advancing slightly slower than the minds at Corning would have it, it seems, as the creators of Gorilla Glass present a second video in a series that brings the future to us now, glass based. The video moves from one technology to the next, starting with Handheld Display Glass, this essentially stemming off what Gorilla Glass already presents, it being thin and lightweight, damage resistant and what Corning plans for the future: 3D-projection ready! The loveliness then continues through an impressive display of lights and magic through a future we can only dream of.   Video Below! ... Read more

According to a study by Crittercism on Android and iOS, both platforms have their share of apps that crash and it shows that iOS apps crash more often. The company which specializes in providing real-time crash reports for mobile apps evaluated reports over a period of one month and found that iOS apps crash quite a lot more than their Android counterparts. In the first of the three quartiles we got data for, iOS apps crashed after 0.51% of all launches, whereas Android apps only crashed in 0.15%. In the second quartile the picture is similar with iOS apps crashing in 1.47% of the cases, whereas Android apps did so 0.73% of the time. Things are much closer in the third quartile 2.97% crashes for Android vs 3.66% for iOS. Crittercism even gave us a detailed breakdown of the ... Read more

Androidguys was able to gather information on Sprint\'s employee\'s training on HTC Evo 4G plus some screenshots.  But they aren\'t able to get an release date.   Unlike the leaked promotional stuff from Radio Shack, this stuff is from actual training material. Yes, the device will come pre-loaded with Sprint specific apps. From the language of the materials, it seems that the EVO 4G will require special rate plans. This especially applies for use of the phone\'s mobile hotspot functionality.   Interestingly, you\'ll see that Sprint Navigation is present on the device. It\'s unclear what this means for Google Maps Navigation. Let\'s hope that both are there and Sprint didn\'t decide to go all AT&T on us and strip out native Android apps. More information as...   Sharp has long been rumored to be a runner up as a major display supplier for Apple and now new reports suggest that the company has successfully won the bid and has already been supplying screens for Apple iPhones. Citing sources familiar with the matter, the WSJ reveals that Sharp will be supplying Apple next-gen iPads with LCD screens that are manufactured at Sharp Kameyama No. 2 plant in central Japan. The source also claims that the Apple is investing in Sharp Japanese manufacturing facilities. Although no investment figure was divulged, we have heard rumors from analysts previously that Apple planned to invest $1 billion.
