To protect my beloved LG Dare, I purchased a silicon case, very similar to the one shown above. The only major difference between my case, and the one shown, is my particular case has a silicon layer covering the front hard buttons.  I purchased this case from my local VZW store, for a hefty price of $22. Although expensive, the case does a fine job of keeping my Dare safe from bumps and drops. It was very easy to slip my Dare into, and it adds some extra grip to prevent a potentialy "deadly" drop.  I have a few quirks with this case. At $22, it was not cheap. For a case of this quality, I expected a cheaper price tag. Another peeve I have with this product is the silicon has a tendency to "grab" onto your pants, making it difficult to pull out o...   As we get ever closer to the launch of Windows Phone 7 we see more rumours of handsets, videos of them in action, reports of gaming functionality and so on. What we do not get to see a lot of though is the nuts and bolts of the OS itself and how the user will actually, well use the system. Step forth Pocket Now with a video of the SMS functionality in Windows Phone 7.The video covers everything from receiving texts whilst the screen is off to receiving them whilst it is on to showing off the threaded messaging feature. It might just be our opinion, but Windows Phone 7 is looking pretty damned nice when it comes to SMS. Its a very clean interface that looks pretty slick and it even manages to make the iOS SMS system look a little out of touch. Enough words though, check out the vi... Read more

Apple. for all their PR wizardry, are not known for always sticking entirely to whats true. More correctly they are known for bending facts a little to fit their view of events. The latest such incident came during Apples media event just the other day when Steve Jobs announced that Apple was activating 230,000 devices a day. The reason this is important is because Google had recently announced they were activating 200,000 devices a day. However, Steve Jobs was not content with saying that Google were behind Apple in activations, no he put a swift boot in by saying he did not believe Google numbers in the first place."We think ome of our friends are counting upgrades in their numbers ... we think we are ahead of everyone"Google was quick to issue a response to attempt to nullify Apples re... Rumors suggested before Bell will release HTC Legend on 11th June, but there are sources that say Bell will start selling the phone 5 days later, on 16th June. Now we even have some pricing. If you want the smartphone on a three-year deal, you will pay $79.99, and $249.99 upfront a two-year contract. If you want to tie you up until next year, there is going to be a $349.99 fee to pay, while for the unlocked version you will have to spend $399.99. We haven't heard anything about minimum plans on contracts or any other informations, but the price range looks good enough for me.   The phone is running Android 2.1 and will probably get Froyo this year, is powered by HTC Sense, has a 3.2" AMOLED screen and is built out of aluminium, which also explains its weight, 126 g. The Taiwanese pr... Read more

When Microsoft decided to revive its ailing cellphone software business, it turned to the marketer who came up with the Staples "Easy Button," which speaks the tagline "That was easy" when pushed.   Starting Tuesday, Microsoft is introducing a new version of its cellphone operating system, Windows Mobile 6.5, with a barrage of television ads. The star, again, is a button. Not a big red one, but a tiny one on a cellphone, sporting the Windows flag logo.   Read rest of the story from nytimes.com... Read more

It seems that Google is not giving up on the Buzz service after all. The company has decided to make this service available to more people, by implementing it on more smartphones. Buzz is currently working on iPhones and the newer Android gadgets. As the software engineer Alex Kennberg declared on the Google Mobile Blog, Buzz will be accessible from other mobile devices, such as Nokia S60, Blackberry, Android pre 2.0 and Windows Mobile. There will be no need of downloads, because a simple visit to buzz.google.com will complete the upgrade. Google Buzz is available for the mobile users in 37 languages.
