There have been speculations about a 4-inch smartphone manufactured by Apple for many months now. But, it doesn't have any official backing till now. As per some of the reported news, this might change in couple of weeks. The major thing under debate has been the name of this device. From the very beginning some reported it would be called as the iPhone 6c, others started referring it as iPhone 7c, and today a Chinese analyst claims that neither of the names will be used. It will be known as the iPhone 5e, where e stands for "enhanced".

As per a report from MyDrivers, FoxConn is currently working on the production of iPhone 5e and it'll on on sale sometime in March. This device is supposed to be priced at around $500, replacing the iPhone 5s as the new mid-range smartphone. The report also says that the smartphone will feature an A8 processor backed by 1GB of RAM and 16/64GB of storage. The iPhone 5e will have in-built support for Apple Pay and feature voice over LTE. The primary camera will have a 8 MP unit. The report directly denies other rumors that reported about phone's better specs, with an A9 chip, as available in the iPhone 6s series. When it comes to design, the iPhone 5e will look like Phone 5s, though some reports have pointed out that the phone might feature a curved "2.5D" display as found in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. In China, the iPhone 5e would roughly cost CNY 3,288, which currently equals $500 or €459.
