Galaxy S5 will have an improved Air View, Air Gesture and Pen Recognition

According to Korean news site ETnews,  there are new information suggesting that both the Galaxy S5 and the and the Galaxy Note 4 will offer improved Air View, Air Gesture and Pen Recognition Features.


Synaptics - a key touch chip maker, managed to improve the hovering detection, thus allowing for a greater range, and as a result, features such as Air Gesture and Air View.


Synaptics will supply a touch solution with improved hovering detection and passive pen writing function to Samsung Electronics.


In addition, the stylus pen functionality has been improved as well, and allows the screen to recognize a passive pen point that measures only 2.5pi. This translates into more accurate hand writing.


Synaptics has lowered the manufacturing cost, too. The new product will be lowered of the printing cost as it will be built in a single layer structure not requiring an insulation layer or a bridge. "The new product will provide a variety of additional functions. However, its manufacturing cost will be lowered so as to decrease the burden on customers," said a Synaptics insider. "The device usability and consumer convenience have been enhanced for this product."
