Instagram announced this year at SXSW that the Android version of Instagram was on its way and they also said:

"it will be better than our iPhone app, it is one of the most amazing Android apps you will ever see."

Instagram's creators still have yet to set out any official date in the calendar for the Android app launch. They have today, however put up a pre-registration page which prospective users can punch in their email to, granting them the ability to then be notified as to when the app does finally break cover.
