Last year Oppo introduced a super-fast charging technology called superVOOC. Oppo Reno Ace, launched in October 2019, was the first phone to come with 65W superVOOC 2.00 fast charging support. This new fast charging technology can fully charge the Reno Ace smartphone in just 25 minutes and goes from zero to 100 percent. The 65W fast charging launched earlier was much higher than what the competition was offering. While Vivo and Xiamoi also claim to develop 120W fast charging technology, they haven't started to use it in the mass production just yet.

Rumors suggest that the company is working on the development of the next-generation of SuperVOOC that will have a power output rating of 80W. That would be an instant increase of 18.75% over SuperVOOC 2.0's 65W. On the Chinese social media website Weibo, a Chinese blogger named Really Assen revealed that OPPO is going to launch SuperVOOC 3.0. He said, that it's been a long time for half an hour (the time it takes to charge with the SuperVOOC 2.0), it's still not fast enough, you have to cut it in half.

SuperVOOC 2.0 charges at 10V and 6.5. With SuperVOOC 3.0 OPPO will go with a higher voltage similar to what we already saw on the 120W Xiaomi charger. So SuperVOOC 3.0 chargers should have a voltage output of 20V and current output of 4A to achieve a maximum power output of 80W. We are expecting the technology to be launched at the end of next year. We don't know the date yet, but its predecessor technology was launched in October, so we can take the info with a pinch of salt until more solid evidence surfaces.
