Samsung employee leaks Galaxy S7 specs

28 January, 2016 Samsung

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is clearly the most anticipated Android smartphone of the year and consequently, the rumors surrounding the upcoming flagship are plenty. We have practically been handed down the entire specification sheet of the Galaxy S7 in the form of rumors, but yet there is nothing official about it. Most recently, a new rumor has joined the ranks of its predecessors and it has allegedly come straight from a Samsung employee.

According to this source, all S7 smartphones will be encased in a premium black frame. The S7 will apparently feature a non-protruding 12 megapixel rear camera that's capable of taking exceptional low-light pictures, thanks to its f/1.7 aperture. If he is to be believed, then this would actually be a downgrade in regard to the megapixel count because the S6 featured an excellent 16 megapixel camera last year. However, our source maintains that the new 12 megapixel camera will produce better overall results due to a larger and better sensor.

The rest of the specs, as uttered by the "Samsung employee," more or less match the rumors that we have heard so far about the S7. This includes water and dust resistance, fingerprint sensor, expandable memory, QHD Super AMOLED display, Exynos 8890 chipset, multiple size variants and a glass-metal build. How much of this actually turns out to be true is a question that will probably be answered at the MWC in February.
