Skype officially rolls out video messaging for Android

16 February, 2013 Applications

Skype will begin rolling out video messaging today to its iOS, Android, and Mac apps in the United States, United Kingdom, and a few other countries, a company representative confirmed to VentureBeat this morning. Changes to the chat service's terms of service in December hinted that video messaging was coming soon.

With the new update, users will be able to leave video messages for friends who don't answer when you try to call them on video chat. Video messages will be able to be up to three minutes long.  It's reported that premium users will get to send an unlimited number of videos, which won't be the case for regular Skype users. Another incentive for premium users is that their videos will never be deleted from the server.

Skype's android app will get updated soon, so lookout for it.
