Industry insider Eldur Murtazin is saying about the Galaxy S5. According to Murtazin, Samsung Galaxy S5 launch won't take place until April. This goes against what the Korean media has been saying about the Galaxy S5 and throws a bit of a wrench into the Galaxy S5 launch and release.

Keep in mind that Murtazin is quite notorious for being inaccurate most of the times. Not that the reports about an early launch are to be believed either, but for now, there's no telling when Samsung will actually release the Galaxy S5, but according to Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin, the Galaxy S5 will be launched in late April instead of in Q1.

Other Galaxy S5 rumors are floating around today though they are far less credible. A new GFXBench benchmark depicts a device dubbed SM-G900S, a device that the publication suspects could be the Galaxy S5. The basis for that assumption is on the fact that the device is running Android 4.4 KitKat, something that no other Samsung phone has, and a 1440p display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. This is something that has been rumored before.

Google's Android website just released its monthly Android version distribution numbers. The latest stats of the platform saw Android 4.4 KitKat debut with 1.1% share of total share.

Android 2.2 Froyo, 2.3 Gingerbread, and 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on the other hand, continue their slow decline. All three versions dropped their cut of the overall distribution. Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich saw their biggest drops with 2.2% and 1.2% drops respectively over the past month.

The next flagship also known as the Galaxy S5 by Samsung to launch in 2014, has reported the possibility of us a metal housing.  According to a Taiwanese media company.

According to the report, Catcher will start supplying a certain amount of the required metal housings this month, while Chinese company BYD and Taiwan's Ju Teng will be contracted for supplying the remaining units. As always, considering Samsung's love for plastic, it wouldn't be a good idea to get your hopes too high, but going by the numerous reports, a metallic Galaxy S5 is looking to be more and more likely.

Samsung Galaxy S5 has been rumored to be announced in March next year equipped with a 2560x1440 2K AMOLED and 64bit Exynos processor.

Samsung is introducing two new colors to its Galaxy Note 3. They'll be coming in January, but the Korean company's arm in Argentina decided to jump the gun and has already listed them on its official website.

The new colors are red and "rose gold".  It's not "white gold" which was mistaken yesterday on some websites. Not a huge difference, but by looking at the pictures below you can see why Samsung went with the "rose gold" designation.

Adding new colors to a flagship device a few months after its initial release in just two or three hues is nothing new, strategy-wise, for Samsung. The company's been doing this on a big scale ever since the Galaxy S III from last year, and we assume it's been working. The new colors serve as a method for Samsung to "re-hype" its handsets, so to speak - to bring them back into the public's eye.

We should expect to see these new colors available for the Galaxy Note 3 globally in early 2014.

Samsung is said to also be working on a Galaxy Grand Lite, which will bear the model number GT-i9060, and it will come with a 5-inch 480×800 touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera, a VGA front camera, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage space, microSD card support, and a 2,100 mAh battery.

The camera is expected to be a 5-megapixel and a very standard VGA camera on the front; SamMobile claims the phone will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean - that's probably just temporary, and the final product should have at least Android 4.3 out of the box. Dual SIM support is pretty much a given as well, as the Galaxy Grand has been a success in markets where phones with two SIM slots are quite popular, though that's something we can't confirm at this point.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite will be in stores in the fifth week of 2014, which is the one starting on January 27 and ending on February 2. The phone will come in black, orange, and "lime green", perhaps wishing to appeal to those who love the colorful Nokia Lumias.

Inside a document filed using the Korean Ip Privileges Information Service (KIPRIS), Samsung describes a multi-party business call software feature that may be found later on on future Samsung products, such as the approaching Galaxy S5.

As the documentation doesn't mention the Galaxy S5, it certainly is sensible to visualize that this type of calling feature is going to be on Samsung's approaching flagship mobile phone models should Samsung develop it. To begin with, we're clearly searching in a calling feature for Android products, thinking about the look renders presented within the document.

By what is shown in the app portrayed in the pictures you see, it would seem users will be able to use both the front and back camera at the same time when in a video call conference, while also being able to see the video feeds of others at the bottom of the screen. It's possible the feature might come as an update to ChatON, which already does allow one-way conference calls - the option to have multi-party calls would give Samsung a nice feature to boast about on its messaging app, though whether it debuts on the Galaxy S5 or through a software update to ChatON before that is something that remains to be seen.

Xinhua, China's official condition news agency confirms today that the iphone 5S/5C will be launched on China Mobile. China's biggest cellphone carrier.

It's December 18. That's when China Mobile will begin delivering 4G LTE services in the united states. The very first three metropolitan areas to obtain 4G are Beijing, Guangzhou, and Chongqing, with Shanghai because of follow later on. December 18 can also be when China Mobile will begin selling the apple iphone 5S and apple iphone 5C, ending many years of speculation regarding when Apple's wares will ultimately achieve the world's greatest company (China Mobile has over 700 million clients).

This launch is going to be huge for Apple. To date China Mobile has gathered around 42 million apple iphones on its network, but individuals are gray market imports - and products that can't make use of the carrier's own flavor of 3rd generation (or 4G).

The apple iphone 5S and apple iphone 5C will clearly support both TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA (China Mobile's 3rd generation), meaning the very first time the carrier's clients who love Apple products can get to make use of high-speed data on such mobile phone models. This, combined using the Chinese Year around the corner, implies that apple iphone sales in China should skyrocket.

In the other end of the spectrum, China Mobile needs to possess 1,000 yuan ($162) 4G LTE-capable phones available within the other half of the coming year, making certain that everybody in China can usually benefit from our prime-speed revolution.

Samsung Galaxy S III and Note II may get Android 4.4 KitKat in March. S4 and Note 3 could be updated in January.

A leaked document, apparently leaked from Samsung India's R&D department, implies that Samsung intends to update the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500) and Note 3 (SM-N900) to KitKat in month of january of 2014. The document includes the Samsung Galaxy Note II (SM-N7100) and Galaxy S3 (GT-i9300), will get the latest version from the OS in March or April. As it usually happens, carrier-specific models might not be updated at the same time.

All we can hope is that Samsung takes its time and tests the updates before rolling them out, because, as we saw with the Android 4.3 updates for the Galaxy S III and Galaxy S4, that can result in quite the buggy experience for many users.

Sprint has officially release Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S3 is now pushing out hard and heavy on all three of the four major US carriers. Besides the improvements and stability that should come with 4.3, this one will add support for the Galaxy Gear if you've been eyeing Samsung's smartwatch but don't feel like buying a Note 3.

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S3 on either Sprint or US Cellular, you should receive an OTA notification anytime soon. Go to Settings > About device > Software update to check for the update manually, but don't forget that all you can do is be patient.

What will the Samsung Galaxy S5 look like and what new features will it include? In the first in of the new concept feature videos in association with T3, Tech Radar & Gizmodo we use 3D rendering to envisage what the follow up to the Galaxy S4 might look like as well as reporting on some of the rumoured new features.

Here's a quick list of what the Galaxy S5 proposes in terms of specs:

  • 5-inch flexible 2K HD Super AMOLED display (2560 x 1440 resolution and 587 ppi)
  • flexible chassis - up to 30 degrees
  • 64-bit octo-core processor
  • at least 3GB of RAM
  • 16-megapixel camera with 4K video capture support
  • quad front-facing speakers with S Beats audio technology
  • 4000mAh battery
  • Android 4.4 KitKat with next-gen TouchWiz on top

When the Galaxy S4 was unveiled back in March, Samsung said that it listened to consumers when designing the phone - let's hope it's watching now as well.

Samsung is offering a $50 Play Store credit for those people who already has a Galaxy Note 3 or thinking about getting one soon. New Facebook feature which was spotted with a couple of users showing them when their online buddies were on web or mobile versions of Facebook. I was relayed through Facebook it's an evaluation. Now, Facebook states it's getting folded out globally.

As we mentioned yesterday, we think that Facebook is working on enhancing its messaging services as a way to keep the service evolving, and catching the attention of those who may not be using it as much as they could be to communicate.

This is also about Facebook shifting around where it gives you information: it already provides some of this detail but in a different way: today if a user is sending a message from a mobile device, the recipient can see that detail on the message itself. Add "mobile" or "desktop" into the status window preempts that.

SamMobile has just obtained a brand new Android 4.3 test firmware - N7100XXUEMK4 - for the Samsung Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100). This would not have been possible without the help of their insider.

The Android 4.3 update should be hitting the Samsung Galaxy Note II pretty shortly, but if you don't feel like waiting any longer you'd be interested to know that a leaked ROM is available for flashing right now. Here's the complete changelog:

  • OpenGL 3.0 Support
  • ANT+ Support

Even thought it's still 2013, Samsung feels it's time to look back and show us what they have achieved in this rather eventful year for its mobile technology.

Launching the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3, and the Galaxy Gear Watch, achieving millions of sales for its devices,  and more; it's all part of what Samsung feels were milestones for the company, and it's all laid out in a nice and pretty infographic for you to look at and marvel at.

Above showing the infographic full of facts of Samsung Mobile. Let us know what you think?

A week ago Samsung began the process of upgrading last year's flagship phone to some more recent form of the Android operating-system, but after it had been launched many users' experienced problems and today the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update continues to be pulled as well the Galaxy Note 2 update going to be postponed.

Because the update was initially launched by Samsung the update has arrived at more regions however it soon grew to become apparent that some customers appeared to be hit with issues. The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for that Samsung Galaxy S3 yesterday hit the United kingdom also it was readily available for our unlocked form of the unit with an OTA update.

Other problems included a patchy Wi-Fi connection or the handset locking up completely needing the battery to be pulled to restart the device. Considering the handset has been sitting on Android 4.1.2 for a while now it's a poor performance by the company when you take into account how long Android 4.3 Jelly Bean has been available.

The update had also reached some carrier versions of the handset in the UK that included O2 and Three, and you would have thought these have been pulled as well and hopefully Samsung quickly provides a fix for those that have already installed the software and commences the rollout of the update.

Have you install the program and also have had issues with your Galaxy S3?

There's constant talk of fragmentation within the Android device market, only one factor is obvious: Samsung rules. Samsung presently includes a 63% share of Android mobile products, including mobile phones and phablets.

Actually, Samsung controls the mixture of other producers with a ratio of nearly 2:1. HTC, (the maker from the popular HTC One phone series) and LG are available in second and third, correspondingly. Altogether, HTC, LG, The new sony, Motorola and all sorts of others constitute under 37% of total marketshare.

Because it works out, Samsung's Galaxy S series isn't just Samsung's most widely used smartphone series, it comprises the very best most popular Android mobile phones overall. Based on our data, the only real non-Samsung Android phones to hack the very best 10 would be the HTC One and Motorola's Android Razr, which will make up only 1.3% and 1.1%, correspondingly, of active Android mobile phones.

Blush Pink Samsung Galaxy Note 3 made its way in the United kingdom and today it looks like South Korea may be the latest country to obtain the new color pink. Similar to the Jet Black and Classic Whitened variants, the pink one also includes same color leather finish behind along with a matching S Pen.

Samsung has additionally partnered with Beaker, which is part of Cheil Industries (a part of Samsung Group) to advertise the Pink Universe Note 3.

The Pink Galaxy Note 3 includes a 5.70-inch 1080×1920 Super AMOLED display operated by 2.3GHz processor alongside 3GB RAM, 32 GB of storage, exterior Sdcard as much as 64 GB, 13 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera and runs Android 4.3.

After the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3, the Galaxy Note 2 seems to be the next in line to get the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, which is apparently available already in service centers.  We think the over the air update should be very soon.

According to SamMobile. The build number of the firmware is N7100XXUEMJ9, while the build date is of October 31st, making us fairly certain that it's the final version of the update that will roll out officially. At this point, it's uncertain what the extent of changes and new features are in the update, but expect to see mostly the same changes as those that arrived on the Samsung Galaxy S3, apart from a few new features from the Galaxy Note 3 for use with the S Pen.

However, while it's not clear when that will actually happen, we'll remind you that carriers are also involved in Android update roll outs, which means some Galaxy Note 2 versions will get their Android 4.3 upgrade sooner than others.

We'll be back with more news about the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update once we have them.

An surprise Samsung SM-G7102 come to the FCC for testing and it is user agent profile is on Samsung's site. The G7102 is definitely an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean smartphone having a 5.25" 720p screen.

Regardless of the relatively low pixel density from the screen (288ppi), the processor clockspeed shows up as 2.3GHz, which could simply be a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset. It's a pretty big device, calculating 147 x 75.1mm.

The FCC paperwork don't emerge and express it, but Samsung SM-G7102 seems to become a dual-SIM device. What this means is it'll most likely launch in East Asia first, possibly like a low-cost option to the twin-SIM Universe Note 3.

Samsung's mobile products will feature house-made CPU core and shows with 560ppi soon. This shows up throughout presentation business conference call, in which the company's executive team spoke by what is coming up next.

The move of CPU core production internally is a particularly significant change for Samsung, as presently, their chipsets feature CPU cores licensed from ARM. It will likely be accomplished in 2-steps - Samsung will first develop 64-bit cores according to ARM designs after which proceed to its very own.

Mobile shows were another hot subject of conversation throughout the analyst event. The coming year, Samsung will out RGB AMOLED shows having a pixel density of 560ppi. Combined with specific WQHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), these pixel density points in a display having a 5.25" diagonal coming our way (quite sufficient for any Samsung Universe S5 we'd say).

In addition, Samsung will out mobile products with 4K shows in 2015. Having a resolution of three,840 x 2,160 pixels, individuals screens will represent an enormous leap in comparison towards the 1080p models that are popular today.

Samsung just held its first Analyst Day event in eight years, offering us a peek at its plans for 2014 and beyond. Probably the most interesting information being released from the event concern the developments in mobile technology the Korean conglomerate needs to create beginning with the coming year.

We begin using what I believe is an essential discovery: Samsung has confirmed they're focusing on their very own application processor. What am i saying? The likes of NVIDIA, Samsung, as well as Apple, have typically licensed processors from ARM after which use them their very own chips. You've most likely heard the terms Cortex A15 or A7 or A9, whoever else. Individuals are ARM designed processors which in turn get put in chips known as Exynos, Tegra, and so forth. Qualcomm doesn't work like this, they design their very own processors, such things as Scorpion and Krait, which are into Snapdragon chips. Beginning with using the apple iphone 5, Apple has additionally designed their very own processors, such things as Quick and Cyclone.

Quite simply, Samsung just stated they're likely to pull a Qualcomm as well as an Apple making their very own core. It normally won't say when it'll emerge, however, and it is anyones guess when that'll really happen.

Another two essential things I've discovered have related to shows. In under two several weeks, we're likely to enter 2014, and when Samsung's 35mm slides should be thought, we're likely to have products with AMOLED sections which have a pixel per inch rating of 560. The organization also states we're likely to have 4K shows, in mobile phones, at some stage in 2015. Overkill? Never, produce sharpness or produce dying.

Exactly why is Samsung revealing all of this information? Because traders really are a little spooked. While it might be ignorant to state mobile phones have arrived at saturation levels, there's some definite downturn within the top end segment. A style which was repeated in Samsung's 35mm slides was that nobody is finding as quickly as they're in areas like display, memory, and nick fabrication technology.

Oh and something more factor: If this involves flexible shows, Samsung claims they hold one inch every three patents for that technology. Therefore if wearable computing will be a factor, or phones that may bend and flex, Samsung is going to be the main thing on that space.

You could tell whenever a Nokia phone is coming when @evleaks tweets about this. Today he's done exactly that using the approaching Lumia 525, a follow up towards the uber popular Lumia 520. We haven't seen a lot of photos from the Lumia 525 until these last couple of days. According to usual, the photo from @evleaks is really a press render from Nokia.

The press render provides for us a obvious look of the Lumia 525 design. It appears a little thinner compared to 520 with sharper curved edges. We are able to also observe that the red-colored, yellow, and whitened colors are glossy rather than the matte finish located on the 520. Rumored specs for that Lumia 525 incorporate a dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, along with a 5MP camera. It's also stated to possess a concentrate on music, but we're unsure what which means.

@evleaks also mentions this phone is going to be arriving 2013. If you are searching for a minimal-cost Home windows Phone device this is someone to watch out for this holidays.

Google detailed the Android Operating System versions in October and it is has proven that Jelly Bean has transpired the 50% adoption rate mark. The 3 Jelly Bean releases have gain ground at the fee for the outdated versions.

2.3 Gingerbread still forces 26.3% of droid devices, getting fallen more than two percentage points since recently. Will still be the 2nd most widely used single version after 4.1 Jelly Bean, though.

Android ICS Sandwich has lost .8 percent points from it share and it has fallen underneath the 20% . Honeycomb (3.2) continues to be in the .1% threshold.

The 3 releases of Jelly Bean have enhanced their shares. 4.1 rose by .8 points, 4.2 gained 1.9 points, while 4.3 added another .8 points. We anticipate seeing a few of the share from the first couple of Jelly Bean releases transfer to 4.3 within the next couple of several weeks weight loss updates are available in.

Android 4.4 KitKat was introduced in the final moment from the survey, therefore it did not reach the charts. It most likely will not possess a significant share of the market the following month either because it is only going to energy Nexus products with that point.

Among the headline options that come with Android 4.4 is really a refurbished desltop and application launcher. The symbols are bigger, there's more transparency, and also the application drawer makes better utilisation of the screen property. It is also heavily integrated with Search and Google Now, although you will possibly not view it in the surface level.

Sure, there is the usual search bar widget along with a swipe left will open the entire Search application, however the integration goes much much deeper than that. While developing KitKat, Google designed a quite interesting decision: instead of graft a couple of new search UI pieces to the desltop, Google put the present home application within the trash and switched all desltop functionality to google's Search application.

Ars Technica took a closer look to Android 4.4 KitKat and found that the Google Home launcher has been sacrificed in favor of the new Google Search, which takes over the screen in a similar fashion Facebook's launcher does:

That's right, Google Search isn't just integrated into the home screen, it is the home screen. Everything you see on the home screen-the wallpaper, the icons, the widgets, and the app drawer-are all drawn by the Google Search app. "GoogleHome.apk" still exists, but it is an empty shell that forwards everything to the search app.

The difference here is that Google does it in a more subtle way than Facebook, which isn't obvious to the user and doesn't change the overall experience when it comes to visual elements.

Samsung sold about  40 million units of Gallaxy Note I and Galaxy Note 2 combined, so expectations regarding the new Galaxy Note 3 are high. And it looks like the device is meeting expectations, at least for the moment.

Launched around the world in September, Samsung has sold 5 million units of Galaxy Note 3 so far - according to Korean website Hankooki, which quotes Samsung Mobile CEO JK Shin.

Currently running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the Galaxy Note 3 will be updated to the upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat. Unfortunately, there's no official word on when this will happen. But let's hope the update will be ready before the end of the year.

A cheaper version of the Galaxy Note 3 might be introduced sometime in November.  Samsung's other flagship Android smartphone for this year, the Galaxy S4, is also a success - more than 40 million units have been shipped since April.

Google has now taken to their official blog to offer up a few more details regarding all the new photo features unveiled today. In the info, Google also clarifies that while most of the features are widely supported by just about any Android device, Auto Awesome Movies will only work on "certain devices with Android 4.3+".

Just take videos and photos with your phone as usual, and Google+ will automatically make you a beautiful short movie, complete with effects, transitions and a soundtrack. You can share the video as is, or dive into the editing process to customize even further.

While the big four carriers aren't talking android 4.3 upgrade yet, a newly leaked Samsung release schedule gave us the big picture?

Thanks to folks over at Android Police, which was then verified by two additional sources. As with any type of leak, it's important to remember that none of this information is official and there's still a chance it could be a faked document.

As noted in the leak, the dates above are subject to change. Given the general state of Android updates on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile, it's reasonable to assume that at least one or two of these will be delayed. Even so, it's an exciting roadmap of updates over the next couple of months. International versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy Mega 6.3 will be updated to 4.3 eventually, but there's no word on their American counterparts yet.

  • Updated app launcher
  • See photos and posts from Flickr, Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr on your lock screen

Based on Samsung Boss JK Shin, the Galaxy S4, Samsung's first 1080p flagship, continues to be a significant success on the market, 40 million units sold. The development in sales has slowed down lower since that time, with around 5 million models been shipped in August.

That's quite a large number for any device that's been available on the market just for around six several weeks, and Samsung is most likely feeling quite happy about this. Obviously, that does not mean the organization has had simple to use, because it has released the Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Gear, and also the Galaxy Round, the very first smartphone having a curved display, previously handful of several weeks, although it remains seen whether success from the Galaxy  S4 could be duplicated.

A press release went out yesterday saying Samsung Display has acquired a 7.4% stake in the organization in return for giving Corning full charge of the Samsung Corning Precision Materials partnership. Corning also stated the two companies have joined right into a "new lengthy-term Liquid crystal display glass supply agreement" which will last through 2023.

Corning's Gorilla Glass is an essential component of numerous mobile phones because it provides both lightweight and sturdiness that producers search for once they build flagship products.

CORNING, N.Y., October 22, 2013 - Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) announced today that it is entering into a series of strategic and financial agreements with Samsung Display Co., Ltd., intended to strengthen product and technology collaborations between the two companies. These agreements will allow Corning to extend its leadership in specialty glass and drive earnings growth. Corning expects the transactions to close in the first quarter of 2014.

The series of transactions, subject to closing conditions being met, will result in:

  • Corning obtaining full ownership of Samsung Corning Precision Materials Co., Ltd. (SCP), an unconsolidated equity venture with Samsung Display that manufactures LCD glass in Korea. Samsung Display currently owns 43% of SCP.

  • After redemption of their interest in SCP, Samsung Display's investment in new convertible preferred shares of Corning with an aggregate face amount of $1.9 billion.

  • Corning's acquisition of the other shareholders' minority interests in SCP for an expected proportional cash payment.

  • Samsung Display's additional $400 million investment in Corning by subscribing to new convertible preferred shares.

  • Using Corning's current share count, Samsung Display's combined investment in Corning would result in approximately 7.4% ownership on an as-converted basis.
