HTC is reprising the Butterfly and has announced that the new one will come out as another high-end device after HTC One. It can be recalled that the Butterfly was introduced in October last year and a sequel is now in the works possibly because of strong sales for this unit.

The Butterfly was also the first HTC smartphone to feature a Full HD display and it remains to be seen when HTC plans to release the next Butterfly. This announcement was quite unexpected because others didn't think that the Butterfly will endure and will create a niche in the market.

On the contrary, it was actually launched in various markets and HTC will not change anything regarding the brand because of the demand for it. No specific date of release has been announced yet but if it has anything new to offer, it will surely be embraced by many HTC supporters.

HTC might really have a legitimate reason to announce that pre-orders for the HTC One have exceeded their expectations and that more people in US have pre-registered for info and to purchase their flagship smartphone.

If anything, HTC truly needs plenty of similar news and encouragement since they have suffered a lot of set-backs last year and this year is no exception. The company is in a tough predicament following the delay of shipment and launch of its HTC One in various key markets. Because of this, it may have to launch very close to the Samsung Galaxy S 4's, which is quite a competition to beat.

Another likely rival is Sony's waterproof Xperia Z, which has been aggressively marketing its newest smartphone over Europe and Asia. Because of the delay in the production of components, the company will only be able to ship less than 300,000 units, which can easily push away potential HTC One clients who are not willing to wait too long.

The HTC One X is a touchscreen-based, slate-sized smartphone designed and manufactured by HTC. It runs the Android 4.1.1 mobile operating system with the HTC Sense 4+ graphical user interface. By date, it was the first HTC phone to be equipped with a quad-core processor and made it the fastest HTC phone to date. The One X was announced on February 26, 2012 at the Mobile World Congress, and considered as a flagship product of HTC One series.

The HTC Evo 4G (trademarked in capitals as EVO 4G, also marketed as HTC EVO WiMAX ISW11HT in Japan) is a smartphone developed by HTC Corporation and marketed as Sprint's flagship Android smartphone, running on its WiMAX network. The smartphone launched on June 4, 2010. The HTC EVO features hardware very similar to the HTC HD2, a smartphone running Windows Mobile. The device is sometimes referenced as the Android version of the HTC HD2 although a variety of features are only available on the EVO 4G.

HTC announced that HTC One will only be available in North America on the last week of April due to shortage of parts of its camera. Although this may sound quite disappointing, the company actually did not expect to see more people interested on the HTC One since it is literally competing against the phone of the year, which is the Samsung Galaxy S IV.

First markets to receive the HTC One are Germany and UK, along with Taiwan, which is the home of the company. All others need to wait until April to get their units-if HTC shipments do materialize before April ends.

Here's the statement from HTC

HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One, and the care taken to design and build it is evidenced in early reviews. The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April. We appreciate our customers' patience, and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that it has been worth the wait.

Originally, HTC planned to launch the One on March 15th but immediately retracted the time to March 29th because of the shortage in components. Also, for this reason, some markets would have to wait before they can get their hands on this much-awaited smartphone by the quietly brilliant company. Delays do happen when it comes to launches, however, let's hope that this is the last time that the date will be moved again.
