Some leaked images from Chinese sources on Weibo and provide a few more snapshots of the 41-megapixel camera phone to complement the Nokia EOS PureView pictures leaked online last week and the camera video that also appeared.

The smartphone is rumoured to pack a 41-megapixel Carl Zweiss image sensor in the rear with Xenon flash, potentially with optical image stabilisation and variable aperture. From the images we've seen so far, the camera should bulge out from the rear of the smartphone, slightly distorting its otherwise straight back.

Although the actual screen size is unknown, it should offer 1290 x 768p resolutions and 32GB of internal storage.

Engadget has promised a few more photos in the coming days, and hopefully they'll unravel more mystery before Nokia lets the cat out of the bag next month.

Nokia today unveiled the first of a new family of Asha smartphones with the introduction of the Nokia Asha 501. The handset pushes the boundaries of affordable smartphone design with bold color, a high-quality build and an innovative user interface. The Nokia Asha 501 is the first device to run on the new Asha platform, which is designed to make the experience faster and more responsive. The Asha platform also helps developers to create, publish and make more money from apps made specifically for the new generation of Asha devices.

The Nokia Asha 501 makes high-end design and quality accessible to more people. The device is available in a choice of six striking colours that complement the elegant design. It comes in just two parts: a durable, removable casing and the scratch-resistant glass display, which features a three-inch, capacitive touchscreen and a single 'back' button. The compact new Asha weighs only 98 grams, for the ultimate portability.

The Nokia Asha 501 is built to make it easier for people to access everything they love, with a simple swipe and a choice of two main screens: Home and Fastlane. Home is a traditional, icon-based view for launching individual apps or accessing a specific feature, like the dialler or phone settings. The new Fastlane view was inspired by how people really use their phone. Recently accessed contacts, social networks and apps, unique to each person, are stored and presented in Fastlane. It provides a record of how the phone is used, giving people a glimpse of their past, present and future activity, and helping them multi-task by providing easy access to their favorite features.

Nokia files to get several Samsung products banned from being sold, surprisingly, in aid of Apple. According to the report, it is the only outsider to back Apple's claims of injunctions on some Samsung products that have infringed their intellectual property rights. It can be noted that Samsung and Apple have been involved in a very bitter case concerning patent infringement.

Apple seeks to have some of Samsung products that were found to violate their patents from getting sold in the US but their appeal was not honored in the District Court. As a result, they are taking it to the Court of Appeals. Nokia has asked to be given more time to submit their statement and Nokia argued that a District Judge was wrong to rule against Apple's request for injunction.

It can be recalled that not long ago, the Finnish giant has also filed legal proceedings against the iPhone maker and Apple was said to have settled out of court.

These two companies will take on the currently number one manufacturer in the US Court of Appeals and the case will be heard later this year.

Nokia has proved its resilience by being voted one of the most respected brands in India. As much as it has not been able to receive such accolades worldwide, this is an important milestone considering the turbulence it has experienced in recent years.

In India, users seem to adore its latest devices if a new report indicating that it has surpassed its competitors including Sony and Samsung is anything to go by. Retaining a strong position in emerging markets is good to the company right now.

Nokia became profitable again during the last quarter of 2012 after a long period of losses. Now that the holiday season has ended, it remains to be seen if the manufacturer will be able to maintain this performance. This will be ascertained at the end of the first quarter of 2013.

January 24th marks the end of Symbian phones from Nokia, as Nokia declared it with a report in which it also unveiled its quarterly earnings. This means, Nokia Pureview 808 launched last year becomes the last phone in the series of Symbian phones. In this tenure, Nokia launched 2.2 million handsets all over the world.

The main reason behind the closure of this phone is the decline in the sales of the phone over the years. With the rise of Android and iOS devices in the market symbian phones has lost their sales significantly. China has been one of the leading centers in which sales has declined quite sharply i.e. 69 percent in the previous year. However, Symbian was once the most dominant phones of the market due to its fantastic camera technology. So, now Nokia would be looking ahead with some new phones in the future and we would be looking forward to it.
