Those that are interested in getting the new heavyweight texter will be able to buy it for $249.99 with a new two-year service agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate. Except for being slimmer, the new Sidekick LX also offers a 3.2-inch screen and a 3.2-megapixel camera with flash and video capturing.

 

You can choose from two different color solutions: Carbon and Orchid, both of which look pretty cool, so if you've been waiting for this one - go ahead and grab it from T-Mobile.

We're holding this in the rumor column for now, as it appears to be a real screenshot sent our way but we're still working toward 100% confirmation. We have, what appears to be a list of 3G cities going live this year for magenta.

 

Its a pretty compiled list and is sure to please quite a few of you who are still oh so patiently waiting for the greenlight! While we want to reinforce the idea that we haven't confirmed this list, it seems pretty legit and unless its a cruel joke from an AT&T fanboi who just wants to tease us, this should hopefully give those of you left waiting for 3G a better idea of what to expect this year. Asus P835 during the recently concluded Mobile World Congress that it is only doing so just now. The Asus P835 is touts a 3.5-inch touch screen, Windows Mobile
6.1 OS, high-speed Internet connectivity and certainly many other features.Geared for the business professional mobile phone users, the Asus P835 PDA phone offers a WVGA resolution which looks clearly on its 3.5-inch touchscreen enabled display. This allows the phone to display documents, movies, photos, and websites as clear as possible.

 

It also offers fast mobile web browsing experience with support for HSUPA 7.2mbps download speeds. Browsing the web with its diminutive screen is also a breeze with the use of a trackball for scrolling webpages rendered by the pre-installed Opera Mobile browser. And its touchscreen interface even make the mobile web browsing experience both intuitive and interactive.

 

The Asus P835 also allos users to switch from using a 12-key virtual keyboards to a full QWERTY keyboard.

 

Like we said, the phone's crystal clear 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen offers high-resolution display. The screen is at 800×480 pixels resolution giving you a clear screen real estate.

 

Complimenting the touchscreen interface is the P835's Glide-enabled menu interface. The Glide interface now features new and intuitive icons.

 

Other notable features and specs of the Asus P835 PDA phone include Qualcomm 7201A 528MHz procesor, 4GB internal memory, microSD and SDHC suppor, WLAN 802.11 b+g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, SMS/MMS/Email/MSN/Push email messaging, and aGPS support.

 

 

 


 

Mainly known for its desktop and laptop computers, the Taiwan-based company is not only trying to debut well in the smartphone industry, but it also wants to "be in the top five within five years".

 

For this to happen, it needs more than just nice-looking and good-featured devices. It needs attractive prices.

 

According to PC Mag, Acer plans to conquer the US market with Windows Mobile smartphones that are offered for free when bought with contract agreements.

 

Aymar de Lencquesaing, President of Acer's Smartphone Unit, believes that AT&T and T-Mobile will want to carry Acer smartphones, due to the fact that his company also sells netbooks - and netbooks are what mobile operators are highly interested in (AT&T is already offering the Acer Aspire One).
