For over two weeks we've already heard about what the Samsung Galaxy S 4 can do and so far, people have been blogging, tweeting, writing about the eye recognition, wireless charging and smart scrolling features over and over. Well here is something that might be a little new: the S Translator.
The S 4 comes with a translator pack, which is useful for those who travel elsewhere. Only time will tell if this addition will really live up to the hype. Also, it remains to be seen if it will be upgraded to include many other languages to benefit more users. As of moment, it only supports Chinese, English, German, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian) and Spanish.
What's good about it is that it can be used even if you are not connected to the internet but only if you are going to use embedded stock phrases and sentences. Also, it may sound like it is something new but most Android users already do have this functionality on their phones with Google Translate. Despite this, it is good for Samsung to actually think of more ways to make their S 4 quite a very useful phone.
Samsung took to Exynos' official twitter account to confirm about an upcoming Exynos processor.
According to a tweet, Samsung's Exynos processors are "about to undergo another evolution". The tweet is accompanied with an image that appears to have a microphone on the front while a person de-focused in the background.
Samsung Exynos chipsets have been having somewhat of a rough time lately. First the Exynos 5 Octa 5410 couldn't deliver the Snapdragon-smashing performance everyone was expecting from it, while the refreshed 5420 version is yet to hit the shelves in the Galaxy Note III, but it has already been confirmed to come at the expense of 4K video recording.
There's hardly much info that we can get from the tweet. There's obviously a new Exynos chip on the way, but we can only guess what sort of updates it will introduce.
YouTube's Eileen Rivera posted the screenshot above on Google+, showing a lighter, more colorful design with more prominence given to the main store areas, and larger app icons below. "Games" also gets its own entry, whereas before it was found under "Apps."
These are the features as rumored:
- Access the same conversation list from anywhere
- A new, conversation-based UI
- Advanced group conversations
- Ability to send pictures
- Improved notifications across devices

The Galaxy Win is another one of Samsung's lesser-known smartphones to come out this year. Although the company had a sure hit with the Galaxy S 4, some of its recent launches are quite underwhelming that fall short on the basis of performance. It is likely that the company wants to address the need for smartphones by budget-conscious individuals but a smartphone's got to be smart.
An example of these mediocre smartphones is the Samsung Galaxy Win. Although only a rumor as of moment, it features a 4.7-in display with an average resolution. According to a Vietnamese retailer, it has an Adreno GPU and runs on a quad core processor. It also looks to be a close copy of the S 3, design-wise.
For many people who believe in Samsung, they think that it should concentrate on the products that it is known for and avoid introducing products that will eventually go bust to maintain the momentum that the Galaxy S 4 has brought on the company.

A new Huawei flagship smartphone will be introduced in April if all things go well for the company. This device will allegedly compete with Samsung's Galaxy S 4. It is said to feature a quad-core processor that is based on ARM Cortex A15 and will clock in at 1.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Mali GPU, 1080p display at 4.9 inches, and a 13 MP camera.
An April announcement might also be imminent despite that Ascend D2, Huawei's current flagship smartphone, is just 3 months old as of time of writing. Some think that this is an absurd move by Huawei to launch a new device that could potentially poach customers from the other, but the company's confidence on its new device could also mean something.
With specifications such as these and performance similar to the Galaxy S 4, this will be an affordable alternative to those who are looking for a feature-packed device at a more affordable price.
