Amazon's resellers are selling the HTC One unlocked for whopping $799.  T-Mobile's HTC One will be released on April 19, too. It can't be pre-ordered, but we know it's going to cost $99 upfront with $20 per month for two years.  AT&T and Sprint are both asking $199.99 on contract.  So unless you must have the Unlocked version, i wouldn't recommend it.

HTC will also introduce a Developer Edition of the One on April 19. This comes with 64GB of internal memory, unlocked SIM and unlocked bootloader, and will cost $649.  You should get that instead.

HTC One is the Taiwanese company's flagship smartphone for 2013, offering lots of high-end features, including a 4.7 inch Full HD display, LTE, quad-core 1.7GHz processor, and a 4MP Ultrapixel camera.

Samsung Epic 4G users can now upgrade their old devices to the latest Android 4.2, using CyanogenMod 10.1 for the device. This was a popular and the first Galaxy phone among many from 2 years ago and developers just refuse to retire it. However, take note that nightlies are not the same as typical drivers and a few users may be affected by some bugs, but nothing that will prevent it from running smoothly on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.

Before flashing, always back up your data and download the CM 10.1 for the device, so you can enjoy the new features and capabilities that the latest Jelly Bean brings such as lock-screening of widgets and other system and network additions. "Epic" is truly the operative word and judging from the fan-base that this phone has created, it remains to be one of Samsung's greatest phones.

It's powered by a dual-core CPU at 1.5GHz and 1.5GB of RAM, has 8GB of internal memory, and microSD support so you have enough space to store your images.

Samsung is apparently following on Samsung S4's eye monitoring technology with additional features that may be introduced in Galaxy S5, together with a mind movement tracker.

Samsung Galaxy has filed a Europe patent detailing its new innovation that may track mind actions for example nodding.

The patent application filed by Samsung revealed an invention able to controlling a wise phone via mind monitoring utilizing a front-face camera.  However, the patent doesn't indicate regarding when or in which the technology is going to be used, Cnet reported.

Based on reports, the patent application was filed in This summer, right after the organization launched Galaxy S4, showing the innovation could participate an R&D iteration cycle.

The document indicates the innovation will enable customers to function their Samsung wise phones through gestures just like a nod, eye movements, or even a pronounced eyebrow.

Lately, a Samsung executive at CES had pointed out that the organization was focusing on its eye-checking technology but, it wasn't revealed if the technology could be on Galaxy S5.

For smartphone owners over at XDA-Developers, a new flagship smartphone is as good as useless without root. Just ask the thousands of AT&T and Verizon Galaxy S5 owners in their 7th week of waiting. So far it looks like Samsung, AT&T or Verizon won't offer a way to unlock the device for rooting and in the meantime the community has put up an award for the first developer to find a way to root the Galaxy S5 from Verizon and AT&T. That bounty is currently more than $18,000 in prize.

Requirements

  • Be the first person to create or find a method to achieve the following:
  • Exploiting a fully stock VRU1ANCG build to gain root access
  • Make a post in this thread with the following:
  • Proving it works with appropriate photos and/or screenshots
  • Providing full step-by-step instructions for which anyone else can follow
  • Wait for at least one member to follow the same method and confirm it works the same on their fully stock device with VRU1ANCG build
  • Claim your bounty via PM from pledger(s)

The flagship of Samsung at this time is the Galaxy Note 4.  In case you were looking for a downloadable manual, we've got your covered.

The English language manual of this smartphone is available for download now online. The German version is available as well, it will be up in additional languages as well as time passes but for now only English and German are available.

That 5.7-incher is now a Quad HD Super AMOLED (2,560 x 1,440 resolution) technology that stretches to 500 pixels per inch.  There's no change to the size of the screen from the Galaxy Note 3, which still comes in at the whopping 5.7 inches that we have come to know and love, but Samsung has made some significant changes to that killer feature.

Just after initially unveiling Google Play Services, Google has made the APK installable directly from the Play Store.

Google Play services lets Android apps from the Google Play Store integrate with Google+ and Google Accounts. To work correctly, some apps may require Google Play services to be present and up to date.

Google Play services is usually updated automatically on Android devices. You can also install or update it manually from the Google Play Store.

The app's rollout is expected to complete within a week, but if you're for whatever reason itching to get the Google Play Services app on your device right away, or ever need to download/update it manually in the future, hit the widget below.

According to the NY Times, NYPD officers are armed with guns and Android smartphones in combatting crime and promoting public safety. Over 400 phones have been distributed to help them access pertinent police data using these phones while they are on duty.

However, these phones will not be used for calling but will be used to take advantage of data connections instead. Police officers can now look up a potential suspect's information and access vehicle registrations using a smartphone application. The police app might even eventually replace police car computers because it is quicker to retrieve data using the application.

Naturally, these phones will need data plans, which will be taken out of the City's funds so that officers can now take advantage of real-time info and data to identify criminals, apprehend them and bring them to justice-all thanks to an Android police application.

Google has finally launched the web interface to their promised new service for Android users called Android Device Manager. The unimaginatively named service works similar to Apple's Find My iPhone, Samsung's Find My Mobile or HTC's HTCSense.com and helps you track down your (lost) Android device.

Locate and ring your misplaced device

  • If you ended up dropping your phone between those couch cushions, Android Device Manager lets you quickly ring your phone at maximum volume so you can find it, even if it's been silenced. And in the event that your phone or tablet is out of earshot (say, at that restaurant you left it at last night), you can locate it on a map in real time.

Protecting your personal information and data

  • While losing your phone can be stressful, Android Device Manager can help you keep your data from ending up in the wrong hands. If your phone can't be recovered, or has been stolen, you can quickly and securely erase all of the data on your device.

Availability and getting started

  • This service is now available on devices running Android 2.2 or above; to use it, you also will need to be signed into your Google Account. There will also be an Android app to allow you to easily find and manage your devices. Stay tuned!

Google Search application for Android has the ability to tell you what song is currently playing. This ability comes with the latest version, which was announced on a post in Google+ on Monday. Tap the mic button and you will see a music icon will show up to let you know that the application is processing the tune that is currently playing. Tapping that icon will let you know if Google Search recognizes the music and it will tell you what it is, if it knows.

Comparing it to the Sound Search widget that came out last December, the Sound Search is much easier and quicker to use but this new feature of the Google Search is also a good addition. When the song is identified by the app, you will be asked to buy it from Google Play store, which can be quite convenient for many people.
