A new indie gaming development suite is set to be launched by Samsung and EA-Chillingo on March 4th and this could definitely increase interest in Samsung's app store. This program targets budding developers to take advantage of the Samsung Apps store to introduce their mobile games, with very little outlay.

Indie game developers will earn hundred percent of their sales for the first half of the year from date of launch and then, Samsung will collect 10% on the next half onwards. After another year, the Korean tech giant will eventually earn 20% of all developers' sales. This is quite an attractive deal for indie game makers compared to what they will potentially earn if they launched using Apple, which takes 30% of the sales.

Samsung will also promote these indie developers, which is something that most start-up and small companies cannot afford to do. Moreover, they get to keep the publishing rights and they may even launch their games in other app stores.

Samsung and Chillingo partner up to encourage indie developers and help their games cross over to the mainstream. If you can remember, Chillingo is developer for super successful games such as "Angry Birds" and "Cut the Rope". This will definitely open doors for many independent game makers and will no doubt bring in revenue shares, since Samsung will also back the project.

A schedule for revenue sharing is also given and if your game gets reviewed and accepted, you get to keep 100% -70% revenue shares. Also, the Indie development will only be for those who have Samsung devices. The idea is to get Samsung and Chillingo to notice your game. So most probably, this year is the greatest yet for indie game makers.

* Developers will receive 100% revenue from March 4, 2013 - September 3, 2013, 90% revenue share from September 4, 2013 - March 3, 2014, 80% revenue share from March 4, 2014 - March 3, 2015, and after March 4, 2015 on Samsung Apps, developers will begin receiving 70% revenue share. Revenue share will be net of any applicable payment gateway and/or carrier charges.

Small developers will really benefit from this move and it is a leveling factor to the very tough competition is limited to seasoned game developers and bigger companies that usually dominate the industry.
