Just a week ago, Verizon's Galaxy Nexus price was dropped to $99.99 on 2-year contract. This week, Verizon has an even better deal.


Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Nexus is now FREE on a 2-year contract until August 25th, the Galaxy Nexus was the first phone officially updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and packs quite a punch with its dual-core processor, LTE connectivity and gorgeous 4.65-inch screen.

Verizon's Q2,2012 results are out today, US largest carrier sold more Android devices than iPhones from April to June 2012. Android device sales stood at 2.9 million, while iPhone sales dropped to 2.5 million. Best selling Smartphone in that period was the Verizon Galaxy Nexus.

While last quarter, more than half of the smartphones Verizon sold to customers were iPhones, now the numbers have switched places and Android took the lead. In the first quarter of 2012, Verizon sold 3.2 million iPhones, and now that number has dropped by half a million.

Early this week, Google pulled the Samsung GALAXY Nexus from Google Play store and replace it with a "Coming Soon" badge, Well, It will become "Available" for purchase again Next week but with a New Android flavor.

It has been Confirmed that the Samsung GALAXY Nexus will be returning to the Google Play Store next week, powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Out-Of-the-Box. Also included will be a software update that will remove the offending feature from the phone. While the Google box for searches will still be on the device, the GALAXY Nexus will no longer search the handset itself for the keyword, but instead will only search the web.

Last week, Apple successfully managed to block the sales of the Galaxy Nexus in the US, when the US court found Samsung/Google infringing upon some of Apple's search related patents.


Now we are finally seeing the effects of the ruling. You may know that Google began selling the GSM variant of the Galaxy Nexus on the Google Play Store in the US. Not any more. As of now, the handset page only displays "Coming Soon" as the status message where you would normally expect to see the shipping info and the "Add To Cart" button.
