Google alawys releae an App for each I/O event every year. The I/O 2012's Companion App was a must-have for attending developers, helping them organize themselves for all the keynotes.

And now, the full source code of the Google I/O 2012 companion app has been open sourced and made completely free to download and play with.

Nexus Q

Google Announced the Nexus Q, Home Media device to stream your music and videos to all your home devices. The pricing is $299 for the Nexus Q and the companion triad speaker option is for $399.

Nexus Q

Nexus Q streams your favorite entertainment directly from the cloud to your living room. Just use the Google Play and YouTube apps on your Android phone or tablet to surf an ocean of music, TV, movies and music, and Nexus Q will play it all on the biggest speakers and screen in the house. There are no downloads, no syncing, no running out of space. Just the stuff you love at home and out loud.

It appears that the Nexus Q might be some sort of AirPlay connection device from Android smartphones and tablets to their televisions. This would be sort of like the Apple TV + iPad/iPhone/iPod touch integrated approach.

The update is Now available for the Google Play Movies app. It appears as though TV shows aren't quite available for purchase or rent yet, but I'm sure that will change very soon.

Google had skydivers in a live hangout jump on the Moscone Center roof. From there on bikers took over, relaying to wall climbers going down the wall and finally more bikers arriving on scene.

The whole thing was live all the time on a hangout for the thousands at the I/O keynote. Video Below!

After a live demo of Project Glass on the Google I/O 2012 live streaming, the biggest alternative news Google just brought is that it's opening Glass Explorer Edition to pre-orders to select US-based developers at its I/O event. The Glass Explorer price is set at $1,500 and will ship in early 2013.

The company also gave more substance on Project Glass. First and very importantly, the frame weighs less on the nose than many sunglasses and that's great news as chances are you'd be wearing this a lot once you get it.

Google demonstrated a new frame, so that it can actually fit on top of traditional glasses. Glass's main two uses will be communicating through images which you can take literally everywhere and the second is very quick access to information.
