The Asus PadFone 2 was officially unveiled a couple of days ago with much fanfare so this time Asus seems to have done a great job in bringing a 2in1 gorgeous phone and an amazing tablet which works as a PadFone station where it plugs in, with even more thinner and better designed.

The Official launch of the ASUS Padfone 2 was today, ASUS has just showcased the device in Taiwan. It's a phone and tablet in one device.
The new Padfone 2 has a 4.7-inch, 720p Super IPS+ display, Qualcomm APQ8064 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 13 megapixel camera with f/2.4 BSI sensor and 1080p@30 or 720p@60 video recording, NFC and a fixed 2,140mAh battery. The device runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich but a Jelly Bean 4.1 update is promised in the near future.
On the tablet side, you get a 10.1-inch IPS HD 1080p display with a built-in internal battery that has gone down in size from 6,600mAh on the previous model to 5,000mAh on the new model. Because of this, the Padfone 2 weighs 649g with the phone docked in, compared to the 854g of the previous model.
The Padfone 2 will go on sale next week in Taiwan, with prices starting from NT$17,990 for the 16GB model to NT$21,901 for the 64GB model, which includes just the phone. The tablet bundle will cost NT$6,000 extra over each model's price.
Asus plans on introducing the Asus Padfone 2 in two locations, Taipei in Taiwan and Milan in Italy on 16,October. The device takes a smartphone and turns it into a tablet driven by the phone. Add the QWERTY dock and you have a laptop computer.
The 4.7 inch screen has a resolution of 720 x 1280 which gives the handset a pixel density of 312ppi. A Quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 is under the hood along with the Adreno 320 GPU. 2GB of RAM puts a smile on multitasking users of the device. The 13MP camera on back captures video in 1080p at 30 fps and the front-facing 1.3MP shooter is great for self-portraits and video chat.
ASUS announced on its Facebook page yesterday that the original Transformer Prime TF201 update to Jelly Bean is rolling-out. Meanwhile, the new Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T Update to Jelly Bean has been delayed.
Now sticking to that statement, the company has started rolling out the update to the TF201. As for the TF700T, it is yet to get the update but it shouldn't be long before it too gets to enjoy some of the Jelly Bean goodness.
