Personally, I am more of an Android guy, but I won't judge you for loving an iPhone either. In spite of all the highly controversial decisions that they take, the truth is that Apple does make great smartphones and bake some remarkable features into them every year. Everybody is expecting Apple to do something truly new and amazing in 2017 since it is going to mark the tenth anniversary of the most hyped smartphone series of all time. A lot of rumors have been going around lately regarding OLED screens, hefty price tags and enhanced dual camera modules but none of them had yet presented a release date for the device until now. The famous leakster Benjamin Geskin, also known as @VenyaGeskin1 on Twitter is claiming that "Apple's iPhone 8 / 7s Keynote will be held on September 17. Sales September 25."

This exciting piece of news joins in with another news that we heard earlier today about the iPhone 8. As it turns out Apple may have done one already over the Galaxy S8 by embedding an under the screen fingerprint scanner right below the display; something that the S8 was supposed to bring to the table but could not because of failed deadlines.

In a recent digital Assistant showdown conducted in between Siri and Google Assistant the iPhone, it was proven beyond doubt that the newer AI powered voice assistant is indeed bad news for Siri. In the comparison done by CNBC, Google Assistant managed to win most rounds convincingly, displaying surprising accuracy in almost every aspect. Nevertheless, Siri did manage to tie and even win a few rounds, so props to the older assistant for that. Check out the full test here.

If you are wondering what this means for Siri now, well, we can tell you that it still can do a few things like waking up the iPhone or silencing an incoming call that the Assistant will never be able to do on an Apple device, but that's only because iOS won't allow it. To be honest, it is starting to look like the iOS needs a more advanced AI assistant or at least a more updated one.

We all know that the iPhone 8 will supposedly be more special than ever before because this year will mark the iPhone's 10th anniversary. However, apart from a lot of speculations and a few questionable renders, we have so far been given little else to go on here. Then again, Apple have always been better at keeping secrets than Samsung. Nevertheless, we do have another render for you to look at and marvel today because it looks gorgeous.

If @OnLeaks and @GearIndia is onto something here, we are truly looking at an absolutely stunning bezel-less iPhone 8 this year. Just check the rendered images and the video we have for you to see what we mean. It is a known fact that @OnLeaks is one of the most reliable leaksters on the internet and if he is saying that this could be how the iPhone 8 OLED will look, he could very well be right! However, we could not help but notice that in spite of being different in its own way (especially with that brand new dual camera in landscape orientation), this design does seem a lot like what we saw on the Galaxy S8 and S8+ just a month back.

If the latest report by Bloomberg turns out to be true, then Qualcomm is probably devising a strategy to put an import ban on iPhones manufactured by Apple outside the country. The United States International Trade Commission will likely be appealed by the chip manufacturer to put the ban in effect against the Cupertino giant. Whether or not they will actually try to do that remains to be seen. Also, it would be interesting to see how the Trade Commission reacts to the appeal, if Qualcomm does indeed decide to go ahead with it.

Why they would take such a step you ask? The answer isn't "to benefit the US economy," that much I can assure you! It's just a possible strategic move by the microchip manufacturer to strengthen their position in the ongoing legal battle that's currently going on in-between the two companies. Qualcomm is losing out billions of dollars because Apple has stopped paying licensing fees to Qualcomm, after citing that Qualcomm is charging exorbitant and unfair amounts of money for legacy technology. It looks like Qualcomm is trying to put some pressure back on Apple.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 8 will outsell the Galaxy S8 this year; a feat that has not been achieved in the last few years by the Cupertino giant. According to the KGI Securities analyst, the S8 and the S8+ just don't have enough key selling points going their way this year. The iPhone 8 with its OLED display will presumably take advantage of this situation and outsell the Samsung flagship. He further predicts the Galaxy S8 shipments to hover close to 40 - 45 million, which is less than the 52 million S7 and S7 Edge smartphones sold by Samsung in 2016 (estimated figures).

It is true that the iPhone 8 is garnering a lot of attention from everyone, especially due to the fact that this is going to be the iconic smartphone's 10th anniversary. Add to that the collection of rumors which range from borderless OLED displays to wireless charging and we could indeed have a very special iphone on our proverbial hands! That being said, do you really think that it can outsell the S8 globally? In spite of the bad stint with the Note 7, the entire world is waiting to see Samsung release their first flagship smartphone in over a year. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
