The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will undoubtedly be the biggest UNPACKING at the show! A retinal scanner is also rumored.

Another possible guest is the Samsung Galaxy Alpha though IFA is the traditional home of Galaxy Note announcements and the flagship phablet might not want to share the spotlight.

Galaxy Note 4

Our wait is finally over, latest reports from The Korea Times confirms that the Galaxy Note 4 will be announced on September,3rd just before IFA officially begins. IFA 2014 is planned for September 5-10 in Berlin. Also, according to The Korea Times, Samsung is planning to send out media invites "Very Soon".

While IFA has been the general time for the new Galaxy Note announcement, word has it that Samsung is rushing the announcement a bit to make sure it gets a good amount of time in the media machine before Apple announces the new iPhone 6. Of course, the announcement doesn't really give us a clue as to the release window for the device.

Last year, the Galaxy Note 3 was announced September 4th, but not released until September 25th. On the other hand, Apple announced the iPhone 5S on September 10th and released it September 20th. So, jumping the gun on the announcement can only help so much when there's that big of a gap in release.

Galaxy Note 4 Metal

Finally, Samsung will bring us a Premium High Build Quality device that we've been waiting for since the release of the S5. Latest reports from Korean publication ET News confirms from close sources that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 4 will be made completely out of Metal, along with a flexible QHD display and a 16MP Camera with Optical image stabilization (OIS).

Samsung is reportedly experimenting with various material choices, including stainless steel, aluminum, magnesium and plastic for the phone's case, although only the premium Galaxy Note 4 is likely to get a metal case. In other words, plastic will still be part of the Galaxy Note 4's design, for at least one version of the phablet.

The release data for the Galaxy Note 4 is September,2014 and there's no doubt about that date, Samsung want to compete in the market with Apple's iPhone 6.

In the other hand, The APKs can give us a good hint at some upcoming features that'll be available on the phone. Some of these seem par the course and utterly mundane: "VoiceNote4t" and "SamsungMusic_20" are fairly self-explanatory, but there are a few APKs on here that are interesting.

The "SStudio_WQHD" APK suggests that the Galaxy Note 4 will be packing a QHD display. "SHealth3_5" just reaffirms Samsung's commitment to its health-tracking software, along with the Korean manufacturer's commitment to photography as evinced by its inclusion of the "OutOfFocusViewer", "PhotoStudio", and "SmartSelfShot" APKs.

Samsung Exynos

The Samsung Galaxy S5 was released featuring a fingerprint scanner biometric security. Today, Samsung posted a teaser of a Galaxy Note 4 feature on its SamsungExynos twitter account. showing showing a phablet-like device that focuses on an Eye. This Hints for a an Eye scanner, probably a "Retina Scanner" sensor. Using the Eye for authorization is the higher biometric security available till date.

The tagline of the image is "Unlock the future" so the retina scanner should work for unlocking the device, too. It was Samsung who pioneered another eye-tracking feature Smart Screen prevents the screen from dimming and locking while you're looking at it. New Galaxy Notes are traditionally unveiled at IFA, this year it starts in at the beginning of September.
