The First Hands-on video of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 Active appeared on YouTube, its an AT&T variant of the S5 active with model number "SM-G870A" appeared on a short brief video.

The brief video reveals that the upcoming smartphone will likely follow the same formula as the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. The handset will essentially be a toughened up version of the regular Samsung Galaxy S5.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is expected to be annouced next month. Its rumored specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC, 2GB RAM, and 16MP camera. Stay tuned for more info and leaked and don't forget to check out the 2 videos below.

Galaxy S5 Prime/Active

A video on YouTube shows a pre-production model of the Samsung Galaxy S5. The video source referring to the device as Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime / Active as its not clear what Samsung will name this device in the market. The device in the video has a full-aluminum body.

A thick seal around the side of the phone, which makes it thicker than the regular version, could be a hint that the phone on the video is the Galaxy S5 Active.

While the regular version of the phone has IP67 certification, the Galaxy S5 Active is rumored to have IP68 certification which means that it can be submerged in up to 5 feet of water for as long as 60 minutes. Perhaps a tighter seal is required to hit that level of water proofing. The back cover is aluminum, and the phone came "out of the wrapper" with the Google Now launcher which hints for a Google Play Edition of this device.

The 2nd video from the same source revealed far too many inconsistencies. While the model number on the phone did show the SM-G906 belonging to the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, but the screen's resolution is only 1080 x 1920. In addition, the 480ppi reading would indicate a sub 5 inch screen. And the chip inside is the Snapdragon 800.
