As far as the pictures are concerned, you will find them all throughout the article, but unfortunately, none of this latest batch of leaked Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL pictures shows the fronts of the two smartphones. Other than the images, we also have information on the color options (as can be seen in the pictures) and even the price.

It looks like the Pixel 2 will come in three color options, which have been comically named by Google as Kinda Blue, Just Black, and Clearly White. The color options for the Google Pixel 2 XL on the other hand won't be so vast and the buyers will have to choose in between Black & White and Just Black. Funny as the names may be, they do a pretty good job of describing exactly how the colors look to be honest! You will find the pricing details mentioned below.

Pixel 2 (HTC)

$649 for 64GB/$749 for 128GB

Pixel 2 XL (LG)

$849 for 64GB/$949 for 128GB

The pictures and the information are presented by DroidLife and they do seem to be pretty authentic.

It is very hard to determine which one is the best Android smartphone of them all, but if that contest was purely based on the smoothest and purest Android experience possible, the title would have to go the Google Pixel and Pixel XL. However, that was back in 2016 and we are now almost on the verge of seeing new iterations of the two smartphones from Google in the form of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. So without further ado, let us introduce you to the two smartphones with the specs that we know about so far. Do keep in mind that these are based on rumors and leaks, so minor changes might be present in the final version.

Pixel 2

4.97-inch OLED panel with FHD resolution, Active Edge

Qualcomm Snapdragon 835/836 SoC

4GB of RAM

64GB/128GB internal storage

Twin front facing stereo speakers

No headphone jack

IP67/IP68 rating

Pixel 2 XL

5.99-inch, borderless OLED panel with QHD+ resolution at 18:9 aspect ratio, Active Edge

Qualcomm Snapdragon 835/836 SoC

4GB of RAM

128GB internal storage

Twin front facing stereo speakers

No headphone jack

IP67/IP68 rating

Launch date for both devices is said to be October 5 by Evan Blass on Twitter but we will of course have to wait to find out for sure. The Pixels sported amazing cameras last year, so it would be interesting to see if they can do one better this year.

I don't know about you but I have always wanted an app that would tell me my blood group and save me the trip to the clinic each time I needed to get some blood tests done. It looks like that is not going to be a problem in the future as Google's acquisition of Senosis Health might allow smartphones to do just that.

The start-up from Seattle has developed a technology which can use a smartphone's camera, flash, accelerometer and microphone to measure hemoglobin in blood. The data collected with the help of this technology can then be used to detect early symptoms of certain types of tumors and cancers, lung diseases, kidney issues and most forms of undetected malnutrition. The application of this technology can change the face of telemedicine forever, especially in remote areas of the world and for patients who can't move about easily.

Although it will probably be a while before the kinks are ironed out and the technology is useable on a large scale, Senosis Health might just have handed Google a very potent tool to make medical science more easily accesible to the US and eventually the world.

Anyone who looks at the Galaxy S8 or the Mi Mix instantly appreciates the bezel-less design and it is expected that the upcoming iPhone 8 will also sport similar borderless display. In fact it seems to be the future of evolution for smartphones in general from here on. However, Google doesn't think that it is necessary to adopt that design as their "only" option yet. Make no mistake, all leaks and rumors are still suggesting that the Pixel XL 2 will be sporting a borderless display, but the regular and smaller Google Pixel 2 will apparently, not be as lucky.

Take a look at the picture and tell me if you think it looks exactly like last year's Google Pixel made by HTC or not. I ask this because it looks like that to me at least! Also, if this leak by VentureBeats is to be believed then the Pixel 2 won't have a dual camera either, but then again, that's true for the Pixel XL 2 as well unfortunately.

Courtesy of @OnLeaks and MySmartPrice, we have renders of the upcoming Google Pixel 2 on display here. The video shows off the Google Pixel 2 in beautiful 3D rendering and while it really does look light years ahead of the Google Pixel in terms of design, we couldn't help but notice that it's missing the 3.5mm audio jack. Do take a look at the video above and let us know what you think about this decision by Google, if it really does turn out to be the case of course.

Personally, I have never understood the logic behind removing the headphone jack from a smartphone and that is only because there is no logic behind it, just business. It costs next to nothing, doesn't interfere with any other functionality and is something that is preferred by a large section of the customer base. Even if you are all for the "wireless revolution," a headphone jack doesn't stop the smartphone from being compatible with wireless technology or the user from using wireless headphones if he/she wants to. It has more to do with business and marketing than actual usefulness because even if you could shave a few centimeters of a smartphone by eliminating the headphone jack, it hardly matters. Most people would rather have a headphone jack than a paper-thin phone!
