Honor recently announced that it was bringing over its new Magic6 Lite to buyers in the UK, which will be available for £349.99 (or roughly $445). The phone is engineered for mid-range buyers, with a set of hardware and software features that don't necessarily compromise on performance.

Up front you'll find a curved display that measures 6.78 inches, which Honor says has been designed to withstand drops and bumps. It's an impressive display thanks to its 120Hz refesh rate, a sharp 2652×1200 resolution, as well as a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. In terms of design, it's pretty standard-looking with a large camera module on the rear panel, a common design trait on most Chinese smartphones. It does come with IP53 certification, which is a much-welcome feature.

For imaging and video, the phone does include a trio of cameras which consist of a 108MP (f/1.75) main camera, a 5MP (f/2.2) Ultra-Wide Camera, and a 2MP (f/2.4) Macro Camera. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 16MP front-facing shooter.

Inside, the Magic6 Lite is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, which is Qualcomm's go-to SoC for entry to mid-level Android phones. This works alongside 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which for the price is acceptable. The phone runs on a 5,300 mAh battery with support for 35W fast charging speeds, another common feature on similarly-priced midrange smartphones.

For software, the phone features Android 13 layered with Honor's own MagicOS user interface, although it would've been nice to see Android 14 onboard. Interested buyers in the UK can check out the Magic6 Lite in select retailers and carriers later this month.

Last week, Honor and Porsche Design announced a partnership in which they would be working together on new devices that would take advantage of Porsche Design's designs, and now it looks like the first product will come in the form of a smartphone.

This is according to a post on X as well as several other posts on Weibo by various Honor executives teasing the upcoming phone. The handset in question is the Magic 6 but it will now bear a slightly different look thanks to the partnership between both companies. The teaser doesn't really reveal much except for the Porsche Design branding on the back.

Porsche Design has worked together with various other smartphone brands in the past, most notably BlackBerry back in the day, and also with Huawei, who was once the parent company of Honor before Honor was spun off and became its own entity.

The Magic 6 is also expected to consist of multiple devices including the base Magic 6 model, the Magic 6 Pro, and the Magic 6 Porsche Design. It will be interesting to see what the final product could look like, but it looks like we'll probably have to wait until January 2024, possibly during CES 2024, for the full reveal.

Smartphone companies incorporating design concepts from competing brands isn't exactly unheard of - take for example the new Honor X8b, which looks rather familiar especially in terms of its overall look. Launched in select markets for around $213 (when converted), the X8b brings over a design that we might have seen before.

We're obviously referring to the iPhone 14 Pro and 15 series here - Honor's addition of an interactive "Magic Pill" camera cutout, combined with flat sides give us a sense of deja vu. The similarities end there, however - Honor's new handset is aimed at the midrange market, although it does impress with a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with up to 2,000 nits of brightness, as well as a 108MP main camera sensor.

Performance is another story however, as the X8b is equipped with a Snapdragon 680 chip alongside 8GB of RAM, and a base storage configuration of 128GB. It also ships with Android 13, albeit layered with Honor's Magic OS user interface.

With that being said, the Honor X8b isn't the first phone to feature a "Dynamic Island" rival of sorts - earlier on, Realme was one of the first smartphone OEMs to mimic the Dynamic Island on the Realme C55, which the company refers to as the "Mini Capsule" cutout.

While Black Friday is about to start in the United States, the Chinese customers had a very busy day, as at least three handset manufacturers introduced new products today: Oppo, ZTE, and honor.

Unlike Reno11 and Red Magic 9 Pro, honor 100 is a mid-range smartphone that premiers Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. On top of that, both the basic honor 100 and the improved model, honor 100 pro, come equipped with a custom-made RF chip C1 that promises better calls even in areas with weak signal reception.

The vanilla honor 100 sports a large 6.7-inch OLED display that features an under-display fingerprint sensor and houses a big 50-megapixel selfie snapper. On the back, the mid-range phone packs a dual-camera that includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 sensor with OIS (optical image stabilization) and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera.

The phone is powered by a massive 5,000 mAh battery and ships with MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13 right out of the box. The phone is now available for purchase in China in four different colors - black, blue, purple, and white, for just $350 (12/256GB model).

On the other hand, the honor 100 pro is the company's new flagship. Equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor coupled with 12/256GB or 16/1TB storage, the honor 100 pro is a real beast when it comes to performance.

Honor's new flagship comes with a 6.78-inch OLED display and a triple camera setup: 50-megapixel main sensor, 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, 32-megapixel telephoto shooter.

Just like the basic model, the honor 100 pro is powered by a large 5,000 mAh battery that features 100W fast charging support, as well as 66W wireless charging support.

Honor is now selling the 100 Pro in China for $480 for the 12/256GB model or $620 for the 16/1TB variant. The phone is available in four different colors: black, blue, purple, and white.

Back in July, Honor announced their latest foldable phone in the form of the Magic V2. The handset was initially announced for the China market, but at IFA 2023, the company revealed their plans to bring it to global markets but did not say when.

Now according to a new report from Android Authority, they have received confirmation from the company that the Magic V2 will be seeing a global launch in Q1 2024. Yes, you read that right, it will only be in 2024 that the rest of us will be able to get our hands on the device.

It is rather odd timing because we imagine that Honor would want to compete against other foldables that launched in 2023, namely the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. Launching it in 2024 means they'll be releasing a phone with 2023 hardware and pitting it against other foldables that are coming in 2024.

There is some good news though and why you might consider the Magic V2 even in 2024. Further details shared by Honor CEO George Zhao has hinted that the phone could be priced lower than its competitors. Apparently the Honor Magic Vs is a "good reference" for the pricing of the Magic V2, which means that if you want a more affordable foldable, maybe holding out for the Magic V2 in 2024 might not be a bad idea.
